Let's hope he makes it out ok!
At 76 years old, Sen. Edward M. Kennedy is undergoing surgery today at Duke Medical Center for his cancerous brain tumor.
He'll then have to deal with chemotherapy and radiation treatment.
Kennedy spokesman, Anthony Cole, that the surgery would begin around 9:00am and last about six hours.
Kennedy will need to stay at the hospital for a week following the surgery to allow him to recuperate.
He's set to begin further treatments and start chemotherapy at the Massachusetts General Hospital.
In the statement, Kennedy expressed, "I am deeply grateful to the people of Massachusetts and to my friends, colleagues and so many others across the country and around the world who have expressed their support and good wishes as I tackle this new and unexpected health challenge. I am humbled by the outpouring and am strengthened by your prayers and kindness."
And looking towards the future, Kennedy adds, "I look forward to returning to the United States Senate and to doing everything I can to help elect Barack Obama as our next president."
Talk about an endorsement!

I too will NEVER forget Chapaquidick, and how Ted left that girl in a submerged care to die, for over 24 hours while he deviced a plan with his handlers. . . But I can't feel the negativity towards him as displayed on this site.
However, the ones I DO blame are the citizens of the state of Massachusetts in reelecting this man year after year to the Senate of the United States. Not that is the real crime! It is almost as if they have been blinded by this supposed "Kennedy mystique." If Ted's last name wasn't Kennedy in fact he would have spent his life, or a good part in prison.
They say all things you do will come back around and be done to you.. good or bad. I hope he doesnt end up dying, but you know.. god saw what he did to mary jo, and is now doing unto him. So best wishes to Senator Kennedy for a speedy recovery, I hope this experience opens his eyes and makes him a better person for it. He cant undo what he did at that bridge, but he can make other peoples lives better in her honor, and be remembered for something greater than being a kennedy, or for that incident.

My mom died a couple years ago from a brain tumor. She was operated on by the fantastic Dr. Allan Friedman. This man lives and breathes neurosurgery. I think he's an angel, he gave us eleven months with my mom we surely wouldn't have had without him.

This operation will, at best, delay Teddy's future meeting with Mary Jo for no more than 3 months as opposed to not having surgery, just chemo and rad. according to the best medical sites found on the net. Perhaps he will be able prior to his soon departure from Mother Earth to meet with a very serious Priest who will not only listen to Teddy's confession, but also his admissions and repentance if presented so that dear ole Teddy might just have a chance to not stay in the Hell he has created for himself as long as he should!

My husband also is treated by Dr. Friedman and team at The Brain tumor Center. His brain cancer has come back and they are ighting for him just as hard as they did 6 years ago. Dr. Friedman always tells us that he is trying to keep my husband around to chase the boys away from our daughter–she's 6. Dr. Friedman is an angel.
I do not agree with Kenedy's choices in the past, however, I would never wish brain cancer on anyone–it's horrile!!
