No Jail for Bardot
Lucky break for the old fart!
Brigitte Bardot won't be going to jail for inciting racial hatred, but she will need to pony up about $23,000, according to reports.
A French court has decided to fine the old dog instead of throwing her in the slammer.
It is the fifth time Bardot's been convicted over her controversial remarks about Islam and its followers. This is her heaviest fine so far.
The former sex symbol was not in court to hear the ruling.
She should just shut her piehole from now on!

My OPINION is Islam is cool if it can truly evolve to be a religion of peace and tolerance and if extremists who kill, rape, and treat women and animals badly in the name of religion can be erradicated. Yes, but when the "rules' of any religion involve a still practicing submission of women, sometimes rape, or killing of or the wanting to take away freedoms to non-believers, it is my OPINION that's not morally right. It is something to be looked at as evidenced by the statistics. Not all Muslims kill or rape of course, but even the inferiority of women as practiced in some countries is not right to me. Everyone is different, yes, but when women or animals are abused because of culture or religious views, it is MY opinion that's not cool. Why not question things in this day and age, becoming more SPIRITUALLY enlightened and say is this morally right, does this make sense, or where did this rule come from? Why not evolve to be more morally inept? I feel this way about all religion. If people practiced their religion of choice fundamentally, this world would be even more brutal. As someone said earlier, the mark of an advanced soul is to treat all living things with respect and reverence. Look to Gandhi; look to all the great philosophers, poets, and prophets. My OPINION is nothing should be mistreated in the name of religion. That, to me, is so anti-God. Freedom of speech allows you the right to speak your mind. YOu may not like what she has to say but she has a right to say it. As an animal rights activist, she was speaking out on the slaughtering of sheep at a yearly Islamic traditional holiday. They use a big kniife, slit the throat and while it's fighting for it's life, they hang the sheep to bleed til it dies. Supposedly, this makes the meat sacred or some such shit. As a vegetarian I oppose all slaughtering of animals for ritualistic purposes and I applaud Bardot for her balls to stand up to what she believes in. Many French are speaking out about their fears that their country is being turned into the Middle East. Their immigration problems aren't helping the situation. They are afraid their country is being run by Islamic radicals and slowly being turned into the Taliban. It's an issue we here in the United States should watch closely.
I for one, am American and value all culture as long as it doesn't supress and hurt people and treat animals inhumanly. I am for the preservation of all culture, as all is beautiful in it's own way, and that includes the Middle East if it(or any) truly is a society of peace, tolerance, and love(or at least striving to be). All any of us can do is strive to be better and have empathy for others. Vilolence from any group isn't the way. Each of us should focus on putting positive, loving, and kind energy into this world to end the circle of violence between us and our supposed "enemies." If one can do that, I feel he/she truly is an advanced soul recognizing where organized religion may fall short and knowing where the line is drawn between man's corruption and the true message of God.
And, by the way, every society(yes, including my own) could strive to do better. That's why, "We(as an individual) must be the change we wish to see in the world."
