In the last 24 hours, Tatum O'Neal has gone from "researching a role made me buy drugs" to "my dog's death set me off".
We wonder — what other excuses, if any, will O'Neal feed to the media?
The Oscar winning 'former' addict also claims that she's still sober.
O'Neal told reporters, "Just when I was about to change that and wreck my life, the cops came and saved me! I was saved by the bell, by the guys in the Seventh Precinct."
The actress also revealed that she would like to help the reportedly homeless/junkie man who sold her the drugs.
Tatum must live in a very precious world far far away…cuz she's off this planet!

If I were a junkie, my sweet baby's death would certainly set me off. There is nothing worse than losing your companion of many years, except human family, that is. You know what I mean.
So her mother's abandonment left her an addict and she's willing to leave her own daughter by losing herself to drug addiction.

Whatever excuses she gave, it's really nobody's business anyway. Don't rush to judgement so quick… which can be easy to do. Tatum's been working lately, with "Rescue Me" and an episode of "Sex & the City", and I hope she continues to keep pushing to get back on screen. Everyone makes mistakes, it's what makes us stronger and wiser… and besides, we all need to party once in a while. (responsibly, of course)

I love how Tatum told Oprah that Farrah Fawcett was from another planet. What planet is she from? Tatum did make up with Farrah and say she is a pretty terrific woman and that she is "Farrah" after all. So at least she can recognize a legend when she sees one. Hope Tatum gets better but drugs suck and so do people that sell them. They profit from human weakness and that's always unacceptable and the bottom of the barrel.
She *looks* a lot healthier than some of the other celebrity druggies.

I do not think it is easy to admit you have a problem and sometimes when a person gets caught they automatically deny their actions. Perez you being such an animal lover I am sure can understand how hard it would be to loose a pet, let alone being in such a delicate and weak state of mind as Tatum. When people are not stable the littlest things can set them off. I feel sorry for her and her children…..this is obviously not an easy road for them, but good for her that she is trying to work through this embarrasing and horrible situation.
The cops didn't "save" her. She's not fooling anyone. Someone tell Tatum's publicist to stop making her speak so soon. She's going to lose money on her future interviews by speaking too soon.

Her father was a horrible dad, and extremely selfish in how he raised his kids. I know Tatum is an adult, but I think from what I have read and seen that her childhood was a nightmare. It was all about her dad all of the time. Both of his kids are screwed up. It is sad, and winning an oscar at age 9 couldn't have helped her psyche much. Too much pressure, not enough parenting. How many times are we going to see that played out over and over and over again.
Sad! I hope she gets the help she needs and her life back together after this attemped relapse.

she is sober, but she knew just where to find someone with the crack. Sober and she was going to buy from a homeless person. Yes, losing a pet can be devastating. But, if she were really sober, she should have had a support group or person to call. And I really hate the news saying that she was born to be an addict. I believe that some people have a genetic tendency to become addicted to something, but, starting that addiction is a choice.
She should go back to the NYU mtg + share about it. Oh! And call her sponsor!

I believe her, my son started back on drugs when his dog died. Sometimes a dog is the only loving thing they have during bad times in their life.

That has to be the lamest excuse I have ever heard. Every addict goes through a period Lindsay is right now. Cept they don't have "Management" to try to push them into rehab when she doesn't want to go.

k love this site and everything.. but you obviously dont know about addiction.. people dont need to "check into rehab" every time they slip up.. addiction is a hard disease to deal with.. and almost all addicts will slip up throughout their lifetime.. and they dont need rehab every time they make a mistake.. going to meetings and realizing what they did was wrong is a GOOD thing and the right step to take.. i just hate when people comment or joke about being addicted to drugs.. addicts dont do drugs for fun and they dont deserve to get made fun of for it.. and this is coming from a heroin addict of 5 years- who was clean for 2 and have slipped up many times recently.. you posted that thing about the suicide hotline and that people should get help.. just so you know, many addicts contemplate suicide when they are in their addictions.. it is a very depressing thing to deal with and sometimes it feels hopeless.. if youre going to post things about celebs on drugs, try to feel sorry for them and not make fun of them.. i love this site but you are SUCH a hypocrite, and obviously dont know much about the real world.. you need to know your facts before you make a joke about something so serious
