They Got Their Money!

The Simpsons are back on!

After months of back and forth heated negotiations, the cast has just sealed a four-year deal which will guarantee them a larger salary.

The voice actors, who were making around $360,000 an episode, are now set to earn around $400k per show. So, they should each pocket at least an extra mill a year! Not too shabby.

The deal was worked out this weekend and the cast is set to be back at work today.

The only one left to finalize his deal is Harry Shearer, who voices Mr. Burns. Though a final deal is expected with him shortly.

As for Dan Castellaneta, who voices Homer, he's been named consulting producer on the series and will also serve as a writer.

However, although the cast is set by contract for another 4 years, that doesn't guarantee they'll be back next year.

The Simpsons contract with Fox expires at the end of this year's 20th season. Fox has yet to renew the show.

We're guessing this might be the final year for them.

Might as well go out while you're still slightly hot!

The show is still hot! They can't stop now…I'm tired of great shows been murdered for no good reason except lame reality TV shows that people should NOT watch

Let's hope it is the last season. The Simpsons have sucked for well over 10 years now. They lost their edge and biting wit and sarcasm. It's just not funny anymore.

The Simpsons should call it quits. They're no longer funny. What happened to the days were this show was the most hilarious, smartly written shit on tv?

best show ever…even comic book guy ("CBGB" he he comic book guys bar, remember) knows that.

      keep it up

      26

That's 400K PER EPISODE, not per year! There's proof, kids, that you don't need a college education to make the bucks. Just be the voice of some lame cartoon character.

      27

WTF DO THEY THINK THEY ”DESERVE” MORE MONEY?
I THINK THEYRE WAY,WAY,WAY OVERPAID FOR ”BESTOWING THEIR VOICES” ON US ALREADY…..

    28. dustin says – reply to this

      28

I seriously doubt fox wont renew them
if they didn't the other net works would do an all out bidding war for them
the Simpson's is a billion dollar franchise they'd be grateful to get them on their networks and probably pay them more too

    29. MO says – reply to this

      29

the show is still hot, and funny. Anyone who thinks it is going over your head it's because you aren't smart enough to get them. Dumb asses! Anyway i am glad to hear it, I have loved the show since I was a kid, and I still do. Fuck off Perez.

    30. shortn says – reply to this

      30

They've been on the air forever so if it is their last year its kinda sad but that is seriously like the longest running show on tv.

    31. Britt says – reply to this

      31

haha they wont cancel the simpsons.

      also guess what?
the simpsons loooked really shitty before, sounded shitty and weren't funny.

they are waaaaay more funny, better sounding and better looking then ever before there is no way in hell they would cancel the simpsons.

sorry but i honestly hate the old episodes.
      they were horrible.

well thats my two cents so yeah.

    32. Name says – reply to this

      32

You actually want the Simpsons to end?!?! Well, that makes one of us… in the world.

    33. Perezg says – reply to this

      33

"Slightly hot" is kind of how I feel about Perez's dwindling 15 minutes of fame.

    34. Hols says – reply to this

      34

This ranks up there as one of the stupidest things you've ever said. FOX will cancel the Simpsons next year when there's a cold day in hell. It still brings solid if not amazing ratings, it does exceptionally well in syndication and the movie brought in an outstanding and shockingly large box office. Don't be dumb. FOX cancels it and it's snapped up by another network in seconds on top of which it is the anchor to the animated comedies that FOX just paid millions for by Seth McFarlane. Duh, Perez.

    35. jill says – reply to this

      35

      YAY!!!! NO MORE SIMPSONS!!!

    36. Cassie says – reply to this

      36

This show has not been so great for sooo long…"Family Guy" is so much better… :)

    37. 37

THE SIMPSONS WILL BE BACK NEXT YEAR, AND NEXT YEAR, AND NEXT YEAR!!! Because without them, Fox is NOTHING.

      I hate that f*cking Seth McFarlane… ¬¬
Who does he think he is??? If it wasn't for The Simpsons and Matt Groening, he wouldn't even have made it to Fox, because his characters are all copies of The Simpsons characters. Yeah, perhaps Family Guy is funny but… whateverrrrrrr!! It doesn't compare to the brilliant jokes on The Simpsons.

Oh! and I'm in love with Homer

    38. aly says – reply to this

      38

:( i lovvve the simpsons id like be depressed if they ever cancel it

    39. Brange says – reply to this

      39

Perez you're an idiot. Simpsons is by far the best show on television. There is a reason why it's the longest running series EVER. Fox would be crazy to quit now, do you really think they would renew the cast for four years only to cancel. Geez, you're stupid. Maybe if you weren't so busy "designing" clothes for the craptastic store hot topic, you would realize this.

    40. luvsit says – reply to this

      40

      fuckkkkk i hate the simpson

it is incredibly painful to watch

    41. Mandy says – reply to this

      41

I LOVE THE SIMPSONS! And by the way the Simpsons cast deserves the $400K per episode. If just ONE of them left, the show would be over and FOX would lose their male demographic. Hey, if the no-talent skanks and retards on 'Friends' could make $1 million per episode this is more than fare.

    42. yep says – reply to this

      42

They should have cancelled this shit ten years ago…the show has been crap since the late 90s.

    43. heathe says – reply to this

      43

Re: Cassie – FAMILY GUY IS NOT ORIGINAL, AND NOT THAT FUNNY! IT DOESN'T EVEN HAVE PROPER STORYLINES! IT JUST RELIES ON PUNCHLINES. THE SIMPSON'S RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    44. BAD says – reply to this

      44

the simpsons cast DESERVES to make that much an episode because FOX makes a shitload of money off it and the cast deserves to get a certain percentage off of that. That's why actors make so much $! It depends on how much advertisers pay the channel to promote their stuff and if your show has a lot of ratings, advertisers will pay a lot of $ to get their commercials on those high-rated shows.

    45. 45

Nooo!! They can't take The Simpsons away! TV sucks so much I sometimes think of just having my cable disconnected. The Simpsons is one of the very few shows that just never gets old.

    46. Kwake says – reply to this

      46

The show is still great. This season has been fantastic. It HAS to come back.

    47. madmax says – reply to this

      47

No way Fox cancels this show. This show is the biggest and most culturally revelant show on TV.

    48. Chase says – reply to this

      48

Just because its a cash cow for Fox doesnt mean its still a quality show. Sure the animation has improved, but all of the original writers have left and the show is just not as tightly written as it once was. They've gone from telling real stories with character development to just going to the cheap laugh.

2 weeks ago, I was reading the shows that had been renewed and axed in TV Week (the Australian equivalent to TV Guide), and they said that Fox had renewed The Simpsons.

    50. 50

This happens to every show in every station in every year yet Perez decided it was news.

Must be scraping the bottom of the barrel. And no, The Simpsons WONT be around forever.

    51. Jessic says – reply to this

Um, they were tepid eight years ago! Fox needs to get some cajones and can this show!
