So, for all you parents screaming that EVERY child needs to vaccinated regardless, allow me to ask you a question : If you knew your child was going to have a serious, permanent reaction or even die as a result of immunizations, would you STILL immunize them? Every parent has the right to refuse a medical treatment that has the potential to injure or kill their child, it's called informed consent.

I realize that some of the diseases are scary. No doubt about that. But neither path is without risk and it's up to the parents to research and decide what's best for OUR kids, since we alone will be left with the consequences of those decisions.

I also find it odd that they have no idea what causes or triggers autism, but they know with 100% certainty it has NOTHING to do with vaccines or mercury. Are you kidding me? We have an epidemic and no one thinks it has anything to do with the cocktail of chemicals being injected into 90% of our children during periods of critical growth? Unbelievable! I can also say that I am very skeptical of any study that is funded by a drug company. And sadly, most studies are funded by them.

I believe the best and only thing to do is get rid of all the toxins in the vaccines, but still give them to our Children.

  4. Nurse says – reply to this

As a Nurse I chose to quit My job rather than gambling with Babies life's. When I was told I had to start giving the Chicken Pox shot that was IT! I quit! To knowingly potentially poison precious defenseless Babies was tearing My Heart! There just has to be another answer!!

While I commend the activism of these two, the fact remains that no study out of a major research university has proven a link between autism and vaccines. Yes, there have been studies not funded primarily by pharmaceutical companies that have confirmed previous research conclusions. To the individuals who keep citing studies, post your sources. What pier reviewed journal created a nh primate analog to autism simply from vaccines? Some statisticians suspect the increase in autism cases could in large part a result of better screening procedures and increased knowledge of behavioral markers. There is no mercury in any US vaccine with the exception of certain flu shot formulas. Enough with the misinformation. I am as big an advocate for ill children as anyone but it's frustrating to see the prolific misinformation and scare tactics. Let's get some real evidence before we jump to conclusions.

  6. DDD says – reply to this

ummm, dumbass vac supporters, hello, mercury is in your fillings, flu vaxes among others, they are still using a "mercury wash" to prepare the MMR. Coal burning power plants put out tons of mercury & so on.
Do your research people. The current outbreaks (oh boy, 10-15 people called an outbreak - roll eyes) are caused by VAXES. Polio outbreaks are are caused by the vaxes.
I'm so sure. Don't drink the CDC kool-aid. Polio was on the major decline way before the vax came out.
why didn't whole families come down with polio during the "scare"?
hmmmm? if it was so damn contagious as the CDC claims, whole families would have been striken but they weren't. My mom had real polio in the 40s. why didn't her 6 sibs get it? they all shared 2 bedrooms !!! She was NOT isolated.
FDR didn't have polio either. Polio does NOT hit adults. He was misdiagnosed as were 1000s of others.
I've talked to countless older people - literally 1000s in my research & not ONE, NOT ONE of them can recall any child they knew having serious complications or even dying from any childhood disease. This was all PRIOR to vaxes.
So pro-vaxing close-minded people, if vaxes work, then your vax-polluted kid is @ no risk from all of us non-vaxed people.
Right?? wTF are you worried about.

Vaccines do NOT cause autism. Understand that!!!
Autism is a HIGHLY inheritable disorder. UNDERSTAND THAT!!!
No signs point to immunizations. Most, if not all, signs point to genetics. UNDERSTAND THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. Jeff says – reply to this

Amy and Vaccin, read this and tell me that vaccines are totally safe. Or do you think that the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy is stoooopid too? When was the last time your health care provider told you about the link between GBS and the flu shot??? I bet never!

Which do you think my sister would rather have had — the flu or paralysis??? And they give 2 of these shots to infants.

This quote is from the CDC "Today, all routinely recommended licensed pediatric vaccines that are currently being manufactured for the U.S. market, with the exception of influenza vaccine, contain no thimerosal or only trace amounts." Ooops, your infant is getting mercury injected into them. If mercury is ok for infants, why aren't pregnant women supposed to eat lots of tuna and other fish with mercury????

Mercury is still in our vaccines and our medical community (backed by big pharma) is not telling us about it. I say, go Jenny and Jim.

  12. Lila says – reply to this

WHOO HOO! GO JENNY! I LOVE THIS GAL! Thanks for bringing all of this to our attention Jenny, YOU ROCK!

The vaccines today don't even have mercury in them anymore, except for the flu shot, so get off that. It ain't whats causing it!

  20. Rachel says – reply to this

How do you explain an autistic child who has never been vaccinated? I know several.

  21. Beast says – reply to this

So, how do you explain autistic children who have never ever been vaccinated with anything? I know several.

  22. 322

Seriously, Jim Carrey And Jenny are doing so much for making people aware about possible side effects from immunisation. Autism is no fun, but Jenny and Jim are not ashamed that they as a couple are dealing with it and it's beautiful to see. I applaud Jim for his commitment to Jenny and her son. It's not easy. It's not easy at all but shows the metal of a man for supporting the woman he loves no matter what.

Kudos to them both and a big f*ck you to John Travolta and Kelly Preston for allowing their son to be in the condition he is, simply because their religion believes it's for him to overcome. F*ckers.

Excuse me but i don't recall angelina jolie being pregnant as a teen! I didn't know all dumb mothers like me go to usc medical school. ur a dumb ass! stupid people like you should not have children. i'm tired of dumb people saying or thinking what goes on in the medical profession or how drs are owned or paid off by the drug companies i would know a little more than the ordinary dumb fuck. So keep on listening to the singled out host and don't ever assume that some is stupid for simply sharing facts or their own story. please research what you preach about so when you hold a 3.7 gpa and get a 36 on your mcat exam then call people stupid dumb fuck!!!!! Use ur computer for something useful and learn something asshole!!!!!!! Oh yeah and eat shit and rot you fucking waste of flesh!!!!!!!!!

    Re: Taylor
What i meant was i'm tired of seeing jenny everywhere misinforming people. It seems to me she went public for all the wrong reasons. Before her son was diagnosed did you hear anything about her? Did you know she even excisted? Thats nice she feels she has a cause but shes wrong in the sense that she is going about this in the wrong way. I feel shes useing her son for publicity and i think it's wrong. I don't think she knows what shes talking about. and last i checked their was 12 months in a year. u said autism was diagnosed between 18 months and 3 years that a long time and thats what i meant.

  28. 328

This is the first thing you've posted that brought tears to my eyes.
Jenny and Jim are fighting the good fight, and I fully support them.

  29. Manda says – reply to this

Ugh. I'm so sick of these morons that think vaccines can cause autism in children. It's a load of bullshit. Among the tons of evidence against such a half-witted theory, there is the fact that since yuppie, semi-informed parents aren't vaccinating their kids, autism rates have gone UP.
…Yeah, two doctors in my family means I here a lot about this shit. =]

Re: Ionia2 – Vaccines do not cause autism, it's the toxins IN the vaccines that cause autism. feel free to vaccinate YOUR children and live to regret it. Until these vaccines are cleaned up the cases of Autism will continue to rise!

  31. Ava says – reply to this

First of all, God Bless ALL of the people who did do their research about learning of the toxins in vaccines. Secondly, to all of you who blindly believe that it is perfectly fine for you to take your children down to get injected by these people in the white coats with vaccines that have toxins that will permantly mame your children for LIFE! I have one thing to say SHAME ON YOU! If you are dumb enough to NOT DO RESEARCH on something that could be the deciding factor in determining whether your children lead a long healthy life, something that would only take you 15 minutes to read about, if you are THAT close minded then SHAME ON YOU. It is your duty as a parent to make sure that there is nothing that goes into your childs body that could effect them for life in a harmful way. FOR THOSE WHO THINK VACCINES ARE PERFECTLY SAFE, GET OFF YOUR LAZY STUPID ASSES AND READ ABOUT THE TOXINS. DO IT FOR YOUR CHILDREN. IT IS UNFAIR FOR THEM TO BE RUINED FOR LIFE BECAUSE THEIR PARENTS ARE TOO STUPID TO RESEARCH.

Re: m – "what about the mercury in your teeth… thoughts "? Good question- They should be taken out ASAP when afforable and replaced with a non- dangerous fillings. My Sister has the money to all them! Lucky for Her! She hasn't been sick once since then!

  33. Ava says – reply to this

Re: Amy – Amy, it doesn't matter what a "world renowned scientist" claims about vaccines not causing autism, Jenny EXPERIENCED this process for herself. She is marching for other parents to wake them up to this horrible thing that people are being subjected too. So go shove that "scientist crap" up your ass. Thats just like all of those pills that are released and the FDA claims there isn't anything wrong with it. Months later it's being recalled for causing stroke, death, heart attacks, and mutating fetuses in the womb.

Has anyone of you ever heard of apple juice! It is not pee in Evan's bottle. I bet it is organic apple juice. It is hot outside, the child need to hydrate. It is not like he can have a cup on a march.

  37. Joshua says – reply to this

Re: DDD – You are missing the point; thimerosal (the mercury containing compound) was removed from the vast majority of childrens vaccines in 2001. The rate of number of new autism cases didn't go down at all. That's why so many of the anti-vaxers on this thread and elsewhere now make vague comments about "toxins" without pointing to any specific compounds.

Re: Ava – Jenny's personal experience isn't relevant. Science doesn't work off of anecdotes. It works off of statistics because you can easily get mislead relying on anecdotes. They are associated with problems like confirmation bias where one only pays attention to the examples one wants to. The bottom line is that the scientific consensus and the scientific studies are clear; there is no link between vaccination and autism. Moreover, your comments in all caps about how parents need to do the "research" which takes only "15 minutes" demonstrates a deep misunderstanding of how science works. So let's be clear, google is not research. The University of Google doesn't give one any science degrees. And if you are going to keep making claims about vague "toxins" than name them. What specific aspects of the vaccines do you think constitute "toxins"?

Re: The Wa – Actually mercury was not taken out of all the shots - it was recommended, but not required. They were allowed to use up existing stock, which did not expire until 2005, and they added in the flu shot, which contains 25 mcg of mercury. Also, the FDA website shows that 11 of the recommended shots on the current schedule contain mercury. There was also a case settled recently that the Government conceeded that Vaccines caused a child's autism - Hannah Polling - there are 9 oher cases like this that were also conceeded (meaning the Government's scientists looked at the evidence and conceeded that it was proof of harm). There are more cases pending….

  39. diane says – reply to this

Ok Cece - As a 50 year old who has had mumps, measles, rubella, German measles, chickenpox (usually a two-week inconvenience for some parents), I came through these totally unscathed. The big concern with certain diseases is exposure to a pregnant woman. Let me set THAT record straight - my mother with three kids going through measles was constantly with her then-pregnant SILs and none of them had deformed babies. Chances are, there was some other problem going on with pregnancies when this happens. I can find no studies which conclude that exposure to a person with a communicable diseases is the real CAUSE of anything. Someone here please let me know where that might be. And don't hand me something from a vaccine manufacturer as a confirmed conclusion because that is like having the fox guard the henhouse.

If you doubters of the vaccine/autism link want a good read try this: Sanctity of Human Blood: Vaccination is Not Immunization. You will learn the real reason that vaccines were brought to this country. What worked for the Queen as dominating her subjects through fear has certainly worked here too but through out government. And now, Dr. (if you can call him that) Paul Offit is on his rampage against all of the autism parents. Vaccines were one of the biggest scams to come down the pike in this country. A healthy immune system is all a person needs to get through any of these diseases unscathed.

  40. Ava says – reply to this

Re: Joshua – You can do enough ressearch about the toxins in vaccines to know for a fact that they are harmful in any does to infants, not to mention the amount by which they suggest. I am in Psychology Graduate school so I am aware completly about confrmation bias, but you CAN'T ignore the fact that ever since these toxins have beem present in vaccines, autism numbers have risen, not decreased.

  41. Joshua says – reply to this

    Re: Ava

I notice that you didn't reply to mention any specific "toxins", you simply repeated the claim. And if you are in psych grad school you should be able to under correlation v. causation among other issues. We've gotten better at diagnosing autism at early stages. Thus, autism rates have gone up. That isn't that complicated.

  44. joshua says – reply to this

    Re: Lily

Whether someone has an autistic child is irrelevant to their ability to look at research and judgment. Nor does the presence of an autistic child in any way make someone's arguments more valid. Look up "ad hominem."

  45. Shawna says – reply to this

I have read about a small abount of mercury in vaccines because it helps to preserve them and have a longer shelf life.It is a way to cut costs from having to make more vaccines if the shelf life was cut dramatically.BUT MERCURY IS BAD FOR HUMANS WE ALL NO THIS QUIT ALWAYS TRYING TO SAVE THE DOLLAR SOMETIMES.There are many lawsuits dealing with children that got autism after thier shots that did not have it prior.I just also saw on the news about 2 months ago a woman just won her case for her child gettin autism AFTER being vaccinated.I also have alot of friends that have autistic children and the parents know damn well it was from shots and we cry together.I am just thankful my son did not have any problems. They should get the mercury out and all of the other crap that can kill.Make the vaccines safer thats all parents want.It will come one day

  46. momof4 says – reply to this

I really don't knwo what to think anymore. all this bickering and name calling…what is it all for….I am NOT SAYING IN ANY WAY that i know what causes Autism, however the day after our son received his 15 month vaccinations we were in the ER….and his personality TOTALLY changed. He went from being a happy baby to a miserable and ANGRY baby. He has Since been diagnosed with Developmental Delays,Gross Motor Delays,Speech/Language Disorder, and Sensory Processing Disorder, and he is being evaluated for possible Autism Spectrum Disorder…His ped. TOLD us to HOLD OFF on any more shots for a while…..so he has not had any since he was 15 months…he is now 3 and a half…i have 3 other children and they are ALL vaccinated…and have ZERO problems…..It is all confusing to me…maybe some kids are more succeptale to side affects

Now i have to watch as my baby boy goes to a special Education Preschool… and Speech and OT therapy almost every day of the week. And im sorry but the word retard really gets to me…When i hear the word "retard" used in an inappropriate way, I want you to think of our Son. i Think of how he is an innocent child with a disability that didn't choose to be this way, but will live his life proudly and happily every day.

    Re: tellall

I sympathize with Jenny, but her efforts are dangerous for communities. Not vaccinating puts children in danger of getting vaccine preventable diseases.
