Their new song Viva La Vida is amazing and so is Violet Hill….so I'm going to have to disagree that the album sucks when it already has 2 great singles. Maybe you just need to give it a 2nd listen…

I've had all the new cd songs like 5 days ago…AND I think is not a bad cd, if they got sticked to what they allllways do it might have really sucked and be completely boring…I think is a more mature CD, mature lyrics with political and some what religious views…….so sad for you perez!

Haven't heard the entire Coldplay album yet but "Viva La Vida" and "Violet Hill" are beautiful. Two of my favorites for the season so far. I have faith that their album will be worth the wait when I properly go out and purchase it.

Aw, man.

I LOVED Parachutes, and mostly everything before it, like The Blue Room EP, etc. I thought A Rush of Blood to the Head had a few good songs on it ("Warning Sign," "The Scientist" even though it was released as a single). But I thought X&Y was a piece of SHIT. I regarded this as a slow (or not so slow) decline and was really worried about the new album. I was ONE lame ass song away from going, "Aw, fuck you, Coldplay." I was afraid Chris Martin has hid head stuck so far up Gwyneth Paltrow's ass that he didn't remember how to write song from the heart anymore … and then I heard "Viva la Vida," which I think is GORGEOUS - make fun of me all you want, but it made my soul feel like dancing. I really like "Violet Hill," too. I've heard poor quality versions of "Lost!" and "Lovers in Japan," and I think they were decent from what I could tell. I was excited about this album. Now I'm nervous again.

Perez, I've read your site for years and I love it for sure but the one thing I've never liked about it is your opinions on music. The music you love…I hate. This new Coldplay album is simply brilliant. Hopefully everyone that reads your site already realizes that your taste in music is bad so they will ignore that you say it sucks.
