Some of your might know Karrine Steffans. We do. She appeared on an episode of What Perez Sez. She's also known as "Supahead", has written several books (including Confessions of a Video Vixen) and she's dated a few famous fellas, like Bill Maher and Bobby Brown.
Well, very early this morning - at 4:47 A.M. - Karrine texted us with some disturbing news.
She says:
"It's Karrine. U have to help me. My boyfriend just tried to run over me with his car. [I] Just made a police report. In August, he placed me in a choke hold at a strip club on my birthday. There's a report and photos of that. There was another choking I never reported but is now being investigated. I lied to the city attny to save his ass but I'm DONE. He'll kill me if I go on with this. YES…Eddie Winslow from Family Matters! I have to give you this story. Pls!"
Wow. That is some very serious stuff.
Thankfully the police are looking into it and the allegations against Darius McCrary.
Hopefully Karrine is getting the help she needs right now.

I initially had the WTF reaction to her contacting the media about this, but after I mulled over it I realized what she was doing and it is pretty smart. It looks like she did contact the police and go through the proper channnels. Unless she is a fame whore out to ruin this guy…then she's actually taking steps to protect herself. First - if this guy is an ego maniac like most abusers, he doesn't want anyone to know what he's doing. Especially the American public, because he is an actor (no matter how z-list). So he may just back off at this point. Secondly, if he's smart he _will_ leave her the f*** alone because if something happens to her now, she now has a powerful document as to who is most likely at the root of it. If someone got the opportunity to assault me, and I *really* thought my life was in danger - I think I'd tell everyone I knew.

Yes, because the first thing I would do when I get the crap kicked out of me is text a celebrity blogger…. ain't no reason for this except she ain't been in the news. I'm sure it happened, and it's crappy, but she can play "victim" in the media now.
