Legally Blonde show - fake like The Hills!
Filed under: Reality Television > MTV > Broadway BabiesIn the promo clip (above) for the MTV reality competition show Legally Blonde: Search For the New Elle Woods, host Haylie Duff proclaims, "None of you (contestants) have ever been on Broadway and at the end of this competition one of you will be starring on Broadway."
However, a Perezcious reader has pointed out to us that two of the contestants HAVE appeared on Broadway!
In fact, the two gals — Emma and Celina — mention their Broadway creds in their bios that appear on MTV's Legally Blonde website.
Looks to us like MTV needs to watch its accuracy!

Yes you are right they have been on broadway. I auditioned for this show and all the girls who had agents and have been on broadway in the past got to audition first with appoinments. All the rest of us had to wait outside in the rain until the doors opened and then about 10 hours later we auditioned.
Perez, boo, this show is SO much better than the Hills! My sister knows one of the girls personally. Go Bailey!

Yes, Emma is the daughter of 4-time Tony award winning director Jerry Zaks. She also appeared on Broadway in La Cage aux Folls, which was choreographed by Jerry Mitchell, director and choreographer of Legally Blonde.

maybe you should read the bios… emmas said she was the understudy, so maybe she never preformed and celines said she was part of the travelling cast of cats, not on broadway.. do your research..

This is insane! Perez, maybe YOU should research what you say befor you say it, not MTV. My sister's best friend is Autumn and she truely is just a regular person. This is NOTHING like the aceouted manner of the Hills. The show is absolutley legit. Don't say something that's untrue until you think about it. You are insane. The show is real.
the show is pathetic… celina was on bway in 42nd street, and tarzan as well…emma is jerry zaks daughter and was an understudy in la cage.. they said they were only accepting non union talent, but they are ALL in the union..

MAYBE the only ones who make it to the end where she says that are the ones who haven't been on Broadway? That would make her statement true.. I guess we'll have to watch and see!
you can tell who gets voted off this show before they even tell you… they interview the girls before the people call their names and if the background is in the dressing room they made it, if they get sent home they are interviewed in normal clothes and in a normal "house-like" setting…

The show is terrible…however, they say that none of them have "starred" on broadway. Emma was an understudy in La Cage…not the star. And Haylie Duff is the WORST choice to give the show credibility. She played Penny in Hairspray for like a hot second. And she got shitty reviews. WEAK!

Celina is Celina Carvajal, and a quick search on IBDB.com will yield you her four Broadway credits (thus far…). She's really…um…"kooky". And I totally don't see her as Elle, but whatever.

This show is such a scam. I was on the first episode where they made us think we had a chance. Meanwhile, they already had the girls picked. They had them stay in a hotel the night before where they got blood tests and psych tests and were not allowed to talk about the show or leave without an escort. When we were being eliminated, we already knew it was coming. Thats why no one looks very sad.. in fact, we were laughing!!!

Why don't I clarify so that we can all go back to doing useful things!
1. Haylie/mtv did make a mistake, she did say that none of us had ever been on broadway, which as we all know, is incorrect.
2. I wasn't 'planted' on the show; a week before the auditions my agents dropped me and so, like everyone else, I waited outside in the snow (it wasn't rain whoever said that), for an hour and forty-five minutes and then for five more hours once inside.
3. Some girls did have agent appointments and did skip us but that's the way the business works- suck it up.
4. I didn't write my bio, or I never would have written something as ridiculous as "I run with the elite of nyc blah blah blah".
