We Thought This Would Never Happen!

Yes, Radiohead fans…it's true. You can now get all of the band's stuff pre-In Rainbows on iTunes.
Did they finally realize how much money they were missing out on?
Radiohead had previously allowed its record label to sell its albums digitally on music services ONLY in album form - meaning you couldn't just buy individual songs.
The Apple folks refuse to do this, so Radiohead declined to sell its music on iTunes…that is until the album In Rainbows, which the band released for 'unbundled' sale (i.e. songs a la carte) on the service following its pricing-optional debut.

You're such a DOUCHEBAG, Perez!!!!
O.N.E
1st!!!!!!!!
gji
They are no longer with EMI and the record label wants to capitalize on the bands continued success with digital sales for the latest album.
RADIOHEAD can do whatever the hell they want, Perez. They're consistently the best thing ever.
Anything that will get radiohead money is BAD… we all hate them anyway.
1st coooooool
Wooww!!
I wish i lived in LA to meet you Perez
Perez, ur entertaining and all but ur not worthy enough to mention this band on ur little website. Radiohead owns. You never will.
No Perez! You got it all wrong! I heard Radiohead got screwed by their record company!!! They basically went over the band's head knowingly and sold them out to iTunes. Find out all the dirt & fill us in!
WOW.
Re: shawna – Go die in a ditch shawna. Your a poor excuse for a human.
fuck I hate you perez. The only thing you sprout is ignorant dribble.
Hey Perez, this is an example of the free market at work.
The fact that their entire back catalog turning up on itunes the same time that EMI is releasing "the best of Radiohead" without the bands permission or participation. (In fact, the band has spoken out against EMI for doing this) Makes me wonder if Radiohead actually gave their permission for these albums to be on itunes or if EMI is doing it despite the band's protests.
yep, this is all an EMI move to stick it to the band. they also released a boxed set that the band was not involved in approving …
One of the best live acts around lately–
the reason radiohead is now on itunes is not because the band wanted more money, its because radiohead is no longer under contract with capitol records. capitol in effort to milk radiohead's library for all its worth decided to surrender to apple's wishes. please try to do your homework.
Best. Band Ever. Can't wait to see them live for the third time this summer. Phenomenol.
That's not true. iTunes sells songs in albums form all the time. I worked for Universal, and every single one of our movie soundtracks had to be bought as an album…not as individual songs.
hmm….don't know how i feel about this
PLEASE DO NOT CALL YOURSELF A FAN WHEN YOU KNOW SHIT ABOUT A BAND!!! RADIOHEAD DO NOT BELONG TO EMI (WHO OWNS ALL THE PUBLISHING RIGHTS TO THE SONGS) AND HENCE WHY "IN RAINBOWS" WAS PICK YOUR PRICE. WITH THAT SAID…DO SOME RESEARCH OR SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!
…Next Clive Davis My ASS!!
i was kinda sad to read an article about Thom Yorke saying he would never give away another album that they lost all this money. does Radiohead need that much money? - i had a lot of friends buy that special package of In Rainbows.
i got it for free, i've paid a lot for other radiohead stuff in the past.
if this is what they want to do, then fine, but it is a little disheartening.
i still love Radiohead - and they did start this movement of rejecting labels and selling or giving away music, that even influenced Trent Reznor - and then they take it back. meh.
*by the way, the sound quality on iTunes isnt the great, especially for a band like Radiohead. so buying one or two songs on their is just lame, it won't even sound that great.
so sure they lose some cred to their name, but they are also selling out the quality of the music they work so hard to produce and create?
FINALLY Perez, reporting on real musicians. Thank you. But you are wrong - they don't do it for the money. They are leading the way in having music be about the art and not the politics. Hell yeah! Their record company is milking them while in contract… they should be bitch slapped.
You know….I love reading this site. However, Perez has such a douch bag view on the music industry. He always puts down any band that is worth a shit. Radiohead is no longer with their record label which I am sure is why all the songs are making their way to Itunes. Radiohead is still the best band in the world and the artistry will always come first for them!!!! Know what you are talking about! Much Love!
You're wrong. Why dont you try producing something instead of just criticizing real artists.
"We thinks money almost always trumps 'artistry'!"
- Really? Sad.
Radiohead are not getting ANY money for this iTunes release
EMI are a bunch of greedy fucks
If you knew anything, Perez, you would know that EMI own the rights to Radiohead's back-catalogue, and so are selling them out in the form of a 'greatest hits' album and iTunes.
Maybe it's time you started reading up on good music, and not that Katy 'I Kissed a Girl' wankery.
You need to do research before posting accusations you twat! You know nothing
Perez you are douche. Just because you have no artistry unless you get paid, money grubber, doesn't mean everyone is as shallow as you.
douche
fuck you perez,
why do u hate on a band that actually makes real music….fuck, i hate when u write shite about this band, they are asking for money…why do u lie??!!!
fuck, i hate u, douchebag.
You idiot, this is EMIs venture to cash in on Radiohead's music. Get your facts straight and learn how to use spell check you poof.
THEY.ARE.GODS.
Their tour just hit my neck of the woods. It was the most incredible show I have ever seen. I will be smiling for weeks.
Radiohead didn't sell their songs on iTunes because the would get about 10 cents for each album sold and their record label the rest of the money!!
you don't know what the fuck you're talking about Perez. Fuck are you out to lunch. All your credibility out the fucking window, get your facts straight! You're going to feel like an idiot when you have figured out you spun this story in the wrong direction.
hey fat boy, sounds like ur diet is causing u to lose brain cells instead of pounds. for a wannabe a&r man, u don't know shit about music. emi can do whatever they want with radioheads catalog since the band is no longer with the label.
Just when I think you couldn't be any more of a tool, you go and top yourself Mario. Your assumption that Radiohead did this for their own financial gain shows where your priorities lie. Good job in getting it wrong again.
"We thinks money almost always trumps 'artistry'!"
You are PROOF POSITIVE" of that statement you whore Perez. Your home page looks crap with all the ad's. It looks as if One has stumbled on the ABC site by accident. Your a sellout!
And those white trash hot topic clothes?? No artistry there…but money trumped something…perhaps your soul??
KARMA will get you.
ahhh. mario mario mario. you are wrong AGAIN. you must feel like a douche, it's ok, you ARE a douche
Talk to EMI Perez…they're the ones behind this, not Radiohead!
You are a dumbass, Perez. EMI is behind this release, NOT Radiohead. They left EMI and this is how EMI is trying to get the last bit of money out of their cashcow.
I'd advise anyone to go back and buy the individual albums as opposed to this whacko compilation EMI put together. Anyone who listens to Radiohead realizes that it's a complete moron who's put together the song list on this *new* album.
Go back and do what you do best (bashing Brit Brit) and leave Radiohead alone.
We thinks money almost always trumps 'artistry'!
OF COURSE YOU DO, PEREZ, CUZ YOU'RE A FUCKING SELLOUT!
well, ur facts are wrong. radioheads music wasnt on itunes before becuase their record label wasnt signed with itunes, which meant that their music couldnt be on the site, they arent pretentious enough to turn down itunes because they sell single songs. second, they were against a greatest hits cd, and they had nothing to do with the creation of the itunes page, they dont want the money at all, but their old record company emi still owned all of their music, so they made a deal with itunes to sell these things, which they can now do without permission from radiohead. anyone who at least knows anything about radiohead knows about this, since their problems with their record company have been a big deal ever since in rainbows was released for choose ur price. i would apreciate it if you took this down, considering your opinions were based on complete lack of knowledge and ignorace
You people are IDIODIC. Radiohead makes money whenever EMI makes money. So if you buy OK Computer, Radiohead makes money. The band WANTS you to buy this. Stop being such whiny a-holes and focus on the music. The MUSIC is awesome - and truth is every band from Pink Floyd to The Beatles to Bob Marley have best of albums, and I'm guessing most of you own one of those.
Radiohead doesn't own any pre-In Rainbows stuff. They split with their label (EMI) just before In Rainbows. It's EMI who is now allowing all their songs on iTunes and EMI even put out a Best Of album to try and make money off of them despite not being on their label. Who's looking for a money grab? It's EMI.
Well, I'm not sure about the whole EMI debacle, but if they were trying to make a profit, why shouldn't they? They are one of the best bands around and there are a ton of no talent ass clowns rolling in dough so I think Radiohead deserves a piece of the pie for their contribution. In the words of Flo Rida, "E'ry nigga gotta eat"!
bravo! that is the smartest thing i've ever heard you say
"We thinks money almost always trumps 'artistry'!"
Umm…newsflash..Radiohead doesn't own the rights to their previous albums…EMI, their old record label does. And ps, I doubt they care about how much money they are making but more about the music. They aren't like the fake idiot Britneys and Jessicas and Angelinas you worship. Infact, why the fuck are they even talked about on this mainstream, wannabe a celeb so I'll talk about them website.

for a minute there, I lost myself
for a minute there, I lost myself i lost myself
i second that douchebag cooment to perez. sure they have to make money but radiohead is not about selling hits, they are more about creating an album as a whole. once you just pick and choose songs from a real album the listener misses out on the entire. it is a really good solid album. i have to say
We all know that RH aren't with EMI… And who says they are selling the songs individually on Itunes for money… That's pure assumption. There is no way you can know their intentions, it could be for countless reasons… Maybe they just decided to finally let it go through, just for the hell of it. Not saying that RH are beyond being greedy (which easily could have some to do with it), just saying that you have no sources to back up your viewpoint. Even if they are trying to line their pockets, the album is still amazing, and they deserve every penny they get.
Man this guy looks an awfully like Darren. Had me scared for a moment there.
Radiohead's contract ended with their previous record company before they released in rainbows. Thats why they were able to release inrainbows online, and thats why there is a new best of album available without anything from inrainbows on it. Their previous record company just wants to make some money, and im assuming thats why its now available on itunes.
Stop talking about things that you know absolutely nothing about.
i have all of their cds and ripping them to mp3s wasn't too bad, but this is good for people who want to hear their older stuff.
Perez–this has nothing to do with Radiohead–it's all EMI. Just so you know.
Perez, please stop talking about music!!! You know nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this was EMI's decision, not radiohead's, retard.
And in case you didn't understood me(cause you always say ur soo latin, but i bet you don't know a shit of spanish) fuck you off slut posting shit about radiohead. YOU ARE AN IGNORANT AND KNOW NOTHING. So stay posting about people with the same level of intelligence and integrity as you.(aka: lindsay lohan, Lc, etc)
Moron. Radiohead didn't do it for money, EMI did. Seriously I don't understand why there are people interested in all the crap that you've said, Peerez. Stick your nose to those B-celebs and stop fucking with real musicians.
Radiohead can do no wrong … the best … end of story.
you're such a fucking moron. stick to talking shit about z-list celebrities…
wrong! this is something they have no control over…theyre no longer with that label but the label owns the rights and will be the ones benefiting from it not radiohead. do youre research!
