Vanity Fair must be LOVING all the press they're getting. When are they gonna put Perez in the magazine???? Yes, we're shameless!.
That shady V.F. article insinuating but never stating that former President Bill Clinton has had several recent affairs, including one with Gina Gershon, has got legs!
Gershon, a small time actress (best loved by the gays for her role in Showgirls), has adamantly refuted the statements in the pub and has even had her attorneys contact Vanity Fair to retract the story.
Of course VF isn't going to do that!.
Remember how much free press they got from those Miley Cyrus pictures?
A rep for VF has denied the article implies the pair slept together.
What?
Don't the people at VF read what they write?
It clearly does imply they slept together!
A spokeswhore for VF has said, "Todd Purdum's article does not indicate that former president Bill Clinton had an improper relationship with Gina Gershon. The story merely examines the concerns of some of Clinton's aides about reports of his behavior. We don't believe that any correction is warranted."
We're still thinking they might have published the story to ruin Hillary's rep a bit. But that's just our thinking.
As for the writer, he said he was "very careful to say there is no clear-cut evidence that President Clinton has done anything improper. I reject the notion that I'm making an insinuation. But I'm very comfortable quoting the people I quote because I know who they are, and I know that they are very senior people who have known President Clinton for a very long time and work for him at very high levels."
Ok, that doesn't mean they aren't lying to you or embellishing the truth to make the story better.

They should not issue a retraction. Gina is LOVING this attention. All press is good press, right? She is the one who made an issue out of a fictitious implication. Very few would have thought twice about that one line in an 8 page article- but, surprise surprise who was the first to jump at the chance at being accused of sleeping with one of the most powerful men in the world? Duh- a narcissitic clelbrity (and I use that term loosely- sorry gina) So bill talks to a pretty "celebrity" at a Hollywood party. I'm not entirely sure how that implicates "an inappropriate relationship" other than the fact we are all aware of Bill's infidelities. Here is a plan: get over it. Who cares? Hillary does enough damage to her own rep. I'm glad she's finally bowing out. As a registered democrat I have voted republican in the past as I want no Clinton (or in the case of Al Gore, a hanger-on) to represent this country. I love Obama, but if he chooses HC as his running mate he guarantees a vote for McCain from me. No Clinton ever needs to be at 1600 PA Ave again (or the Naval Observatory grounds for that matter). For those of you less informed or not an American citizen, that's where the VP lives. And for those about to release a full on assault against my post, let the record show I would never vote for anyone named Bush again either. When a president reaps such scandal as Clinton and Bush have during his tenure, then I have no desire to see one of their ilk, be it wife or former VP, at the proverbial controls again. If Senator Obama is serious about change (which is what most of us are wanting desperately), then I beg him to select almost anyone other than Clinton as his running mate. Just as many of us voted for Bill Clinton and Al Gore way back in '92 wanting true and pure change, so it is with Obama. Represent the truest change by axing Clinton and that whole crew and choose your running mate wisely. Give my politically jaded 36 year old ass something to believe in within American politics again.

If Clinton is on the ticket, who cares? We need to capture the White House again. She has 38 million supporters. That is half of the vote, that has never happened before. The negativity on both sides should stop if we want to win in November. Barack Obama will need the working class voters and the women vote to pull it off.
