Here's a former Z-list reality celeb we haven't heard about in a while!
It's Victoria Gotti, and her name is in the press again. But this time, it's for a lawsuit.
Turns out that HarperCollins Publishers is suing the mob-related Gotti.
The reason?
Turns out she collected $70,000 on a book advance to write her memoir but never wrote the damn thing.
They are charging that Gotti signed a contract back in 2005 to write two books. The manuscript for her memoir was to be submitted by September of 2005.
Three years later, the book has yet to be published.
The suit claims that Victoria submitted an outline of the book twice, but they were rejected and deemed as "unacceptable" stating the outlines "were not capable of producing a complete manuscript."
Otherwise meaning, "Your book sucks. Re-write it!"
Then, in September she informed HarperCollins that she was ending the contract for her memoir.
According to her agent, Frank Weiman, he says Gotti will get another book deal soon and return the advance.
As for the reason of ending her contract, he says it's because the people Gotti used to deal with at HarperCollins are no longer worker there, and that's why she canceled.
Ok, we're calling it.

This family is an embarassment, especially her kids with that attitude and the way they walk around with their noses up in the air. My parents and grandparents, in fact for thousands of years back are Italian and immigrated to America. I am embarassed by the way they portray Italian-Americans. They are so dumb that they don't even realize that what they are all proud of is their father/grandfather, John Gotti who killed people and made money illegally. They are an embarassment to the Italian community and if I were them, instead of being all proud, I would hide my face in the deepest whole possible!

Monie is right - entertainment contracts, literary contracts in particular, often have clauses embedded in them that say if a "key person" leaves who was there when the contract was signed leaves, the author can get out of the contract. Also in literary contracts are clauses that say that the outline and manuscript have to be "acceptable" to the publisher
