It's A Crisis!

wenn829668.jpg

Former Nightline host Ted Koppel is desperate to sell his home.

It's actually been on the market for THREE YEARS already!

Koppel has been trying to sell his suburban Washington, DC home since 2005, when he originally listed it for $4.1 million.

And, now in 2008, he's cut the value by more than half.

Whatever it takes! Gotta unload!

Last August, he lowered the asking price to $2.3 million for the 9,000 square-foot, six bedroom home. It is located on 2.5 acres and includes an indoor pool, a maid's quarters, a gym, a sauna, and even a horse barn.

His current asking price is now $1.94 million.

As for Koppel and his wife, they have moved into a larger home a few miles away but still have not been able to sell their old place.

The economy is in such a shitter.

But, at least it's good for any potential home buyer's out there!

BUSH is solely to blame for this stinking economy, supported by his criminal family and the criminal Republicans. Anyone who votes for McCain is a blithering IDIOT. Anyone who votes for McCain is UNAMERICAN because you're voting for the continued destruction of our economy and our national security through continued pointless WARS.
McCain is not a war hero. A war hero saves someone's life. He was shot down and he survived for 4 yrs in a prison camp. That does not make him a war hero. He has NO PLAN for anything other than to continue the wishes of the corporations that have ruined the US for the past 7 years. His plan for health care? "To continue to let market forces drive costs"…well, so far, market forces have driven costs UP…500% since Bush stole the presidency. Or maybe the pharmaceutical industry will just get tired of counting all this money and let it trickle down? Not likely.

Could you please tell me how the fuck the fact that one person can own two multimillion dollar homes miles from each other indicates that the economy is "in such a shitter"??????

The first house hasn't sold because Ted hasn't dropped the price low enough for anyone to be interested. It's a buyer's market.

    Get a clue.

And to Richie: GEORGE BUSH COULD NOT GIVE A SHIT WHETHER TED KOPPEL'S HOUSE SELLS OR NOT. THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES HAS BETTER THINGS TO DO THAN TO MANIPULATE THE HOUSING MARKET. QUIT BLAMING BUSH FOR EVERY DAMN THING THAT DOESN'T GO THE WAY YOU THINK IT SHOULD

Actually, NO, Perez…it's not exactly "good" for potential buyers. The truth is that despite dropping house prices, the banks are making it MUCH more difficult to get a mortgage.

perez, you clown, did you ever think Koppel can't play the housing market for shit and asked a ridiculous amount of money in the first place and is only now realizing that 'hmm yah, maybe i can't gouge some chump in this economic climate because even that ape knows better than i that this home isn't worth half of what i was asking and i can assess no sentimental value because i'm only Ted Koppel but i'm still a rich bastard in a new palace until i can get rid of that other mansion so don't even play.'

I remember him on a radio show whining about how his town was allowing McMansions to be built on the road to his house…that he actually had to drive by them on the way to house!
I guess he moved to get away from the common people creeping toward his *real* mansion.
Now that his old mansion isn't selling, I guess he has something else to whine about.

Is this his house on the St.Mary's River in St.Mary's County? If so, I'm surprised no one has purchased it, the location is beautiful and remote, it's private and quiet and has docks, and a private rocky beach. Lovely. But, maybe that's his summer home and he's trying to unload some other property. Maybe Perez could help him out and buy the property if the Hot Topic thing really takes off. Because you know what people can't get enough of even in these trying economic times, cheap clothes.

The home is located far from Washington DC and the commute into Washington DC from the suburbs is awful with gas prices sky high and traffic so bad and to heat a home 90000 sq. ft is not very economical or "Green" living. Not a Washington DC local but a wanna be in Washington DC but living in the suburbs of Potomac Maryland. Potomac Maryland has nothing to do with DC just another Maryland suburb. Nice place Poptmac Maryland but not Washington DC were city properties are much more expensive and taxes are higher.

The last I heard we could make as much money as we wanted in our democracy. It's ours to do as we darn well please with it. Sorry for Ed McMahon who didn't know what the hell was going on with his life but Ted Koppel seems to know. Good for him. He found a way to make money. Kennedy made his money in booze. Warren Buffett owns most of the stores we shop in. If you have $100,000 you too could join his group by buying his stock!

Far from DC? Please. Potomac, MD is 20 miles from DC, tops. That is not what I consider far from DC. Now driving down River Road during the morning or afternoon rush to get to and from DC from Potomac, now that's a beast.

"Buyer's" = evidence of an education system dominated by liberals.

It doesn't matter if you spell correctly or use proper grammar or punctuation — ooooh, it doesn't even matter if you make sense…it only matters that you express how you feel and that you feel good about yourself.

Obama = the oprahfication of the united states of america.
