It's A Crisis!

Former Nightline host Ted Koppel is desperate to sell his home.
It's actually been on the market for THREE YEARS already!
Koppel has been trying to sell his suburban Washington, DC home since 2005, when he originally listed it for $4.1 million.
And, now in 2008, he's cut the value by more than half.
Whatever it takes! Gotta unload!
Last August, he lowered the asking price to $2.3 million for the 9,000 square-foot, six bedroom home. It is located on 2.5 acres and includes an indoor pool, a maid's quarters, a gym, a sauna, and even a horse barn.
His current asking price is now $1.94 million.
As for Koppel and his wife, they have moved into a larger home a few miles away but still have not been able to sell their old place.
The economy is in such a shitter.
But, at least it's good for any potential home buyer's out there!

FIRST!!!
Ted Koppel looks like the guy on mad magazine
Well Whoopde fucking shit
It makes me smile when a greedy Jew doesn't get all the money he wants.

1st?
Things suck all over, more so for some.
that suuucks
At least he was able to upgrade and is'nt in the sad situation that Ed McMahon is in.
Poor Ted. I wish that I had so much to worry about. I only worry about keeping food on the table, paying for gas and my kids college. Poor Poor TED!
#4 Now you are just being cruel
oh, we'll all be affected by this unfortunate market situation… can't say i feel too bad for this guy though
so sad good luck Teddy!
Him and Ed MacMahon should have a pity party!
hola perez! ojala leas esto!, soy vale de uruguay y queria decirte que aca te amamosssss!! sos lo mas grande!
we love youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu sooo sooo much
I'm glad these rich old celebrities are losing out just like the rest of us folk. Most of these rich bastards are republicans who voted for Bush. They get a taste of their own medicine.
Suze Orman gave a grim outlook.
What the story DOESN'T tell you is that he probably paid $110,000 for it in 1969.
I agree. I didn't vote for Bush.
how much did you get paid to make this post, mario?
I hear Ed McMahon is in the market for a new crib.

BUSH is solely to blame for this stinking economy, supported by his criminal family and the criminal Republicans. Anyone who votes for McCain is a blithering IDIOT. Anyone who votes for McCain is UNAMERICAN because you're voting for the continued destruction of our economy and our national security through continued pointless WARS.
McCain is not a war hero. A war hero saves someone's life. He was shot down and he survived for 4 yrs in a prison camp. That does not make him a war hero. He has NO PLAN for anything other than to continue the wishes of the corporations that have ruined the US for the past 7 years. His plan for health care? "To continue to let market forces drive costs"…well, so far, market forces have driven costs UP…500% since Bush stole the presidency. Or maybe the pharmaceutical industry will just get tired of counting all this money and let it trickle down? Not likely.
Can anybody hear what I'm playing right now? That's right — the violin of whogivesafuckaboutthesecelebtards.
Could you please tell me how the fuck the fact that one person can own two multimillion dollar homes miles from each other indicates that the economy is "in such a shitter"??????
The first house hasn't sold because Ted hasn't dropped the price low enough for anyone to be interested. It's a buyer's market.
Get a clue.
And to Richie: GEORGE BUSH COULD NOT GIVE A SHIT WHETHER TED KOPPEL'S HOUSE SELLS OR NOT. THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES HAS BETTER THINGS TO DO THAN TO MANIPULATE THE HOUSING MARKET. QUIT BLAMING BUSH FOR EVERY DAMN THING THAT DOESN'T GO THE WAY YOU THINK IT SHOULD
Re: Jesus – Jesus was jewish you fucking idiot
Proper grammar please! "Buyer's"! I just want to cry!
Re: betduk – you dont know shit about who 'these rich bastards are'
he lives right near me in MOCO, maryland. those houses are sweeeeet
Actually, NO, Perez…it's not exactly "good" for potential buyers. The truth is that despite dropping house prices, the banks are making it MUCH more difficult to get a mortgage.
So, it sucks for everyone. Get it right, reporter.
oops..I thought that was Prince Charles
perez, you clown, did you ever think Koppel can't play the housing market for shit and asked a ridiculous amount of money in the first place and is only now realizing that 'hmm yah, maybe i can't gouge some chump in this economic climate because even that ape knows better than i that this home isn't worth half of what i was asking and i can assess no sentimental value because i'm only Ted Koppel but i'm still a rich bastard in a new palace until i can get rid of that other mansion so don't even play.'
Hey Perez, learn how to use apostrophes properly.
I remember him on a radio show whining about how his town was allowing McMansions to be built on the road to his house…that he actually had to drive by them on the way to house!
I guess he moved to get away from the common people creeping toward his *real* mansion.
Now that his old mansion isn't selling, I guess he has something else to whine about.
Re: dee –
I know I was. That's how I know how fucking sick they are with greed.
POTOMAC, MD 20854 baby…
Sniffle, sniffle. I'm all choked up. But seriously, I live in the DC suburbs myself, and if a 9,000 sq foot home on 2 1/2 acres can't sell at even half price there's something wrong with it. Things aren't THAT depressed around here!
no one can even get a mortgage these days
How do I find the listing for this house?
i used to live near his house. it is a very lovely, private home; but suburban d.c. is not cheap!
I HAVE BEEN IN THAT HOUSE! it is contemporary and and very erie. we are selling our house to so my dad and i went to look at it…HORRRIBLE!!!! its not going to sell..oh and the realtor was saying how he is ready to sell just place an offer and she thought he was going to accept.
Yeah, poor Ted. By the way, he's one of those farmers who made millions of dollars from the U.S. government by NOT planting. His DC home could burn for all he cares. It's not like it's making money for him. What a guy!
It is definitely a BUYERS market! I hope he sells his home quickly!

please hire an editor!! "buyer's out there" —-ughhhh.
This site is dying a slow, painful death…
reporting real news now Perez? Really? You may give Anderson Cooper (swoon) a run for his money after all.
um, the apostrophe is incorrect is "buyer's" you stupid fuck. please try to correct your grammar before looking like a total fool.
Re: Alison – Amen to that. Remember the Jimmy Carter years?
Re: SAE – See? I thought so. It must be a real dog of a house not to sell at 1/2 price with that much land. Still don't feel sorry for him .
Perez, please learn how to punctuate. Even your rare semi-adult postings sound infantile with typos like "home buyer's out there."
Hire an English-major intern.
Is this his house on the St.Mary's River in St.Mary's County? If so, I'm surprised no one has purchased it, the location is beautiful and remote, it's private and quiet and has docks, and a private rocky beach. Lovely. But, maybe that's his summer home and he's trying to unload some other property. Maybe Perez could help him out and buy the property if the Hot Topic thing really takes off. Because you know what people can't get enough of even in these trying economic times, cheap clothes.
The home is located far from Washington DC and the commute into Washington DC from the suburbs is awful with gas prices sky high and traffic so bad and to heat a home 90000 sq. ft is not very economical or "Green" living. Not a Washington DC local but a wanna be in Washington DC but living in the suburbs of Potomac Maryland. Potomac Maryland has nothing to do with DC just another Maryland suburb. Nice place Poptmac Maryland but not Washington DC were city properties are much more expensive and taxes are higher.
The last I heard we could make as much money as we wanted in our democracy. It's ours to do as we darn well please with it. Sorry for Ed McMahon who didn't know what the hell was going on with his life but Ted Koppel seems to know. Good for him. He found a way to make money. Kennedy made his money in booze. Warren Buffett owns most of the stores we shop in. If you have $100,000 you too could join his group by buying his stock!
but apparently he's still able to afford two multi million dollar homes. I feel so bad!
Rest In Peace, Ted Koppel.
Re: Garce –
Far from DC? Please. Potomac, MD is 20 miles from DC, tops. That is not what I consider far from DC. Now driving down River Road during the morning or afternoon rush to get to and from DC from Potomac, now that's a beast.
Ironic that Teddy is having trouble selling his housing considering he's friends with McCain.McCain's economic adviser is Phil Gramm;the one responsible for the mortgage crisis were in right now.Maybe Phil boy will find u a good buyer mother fucker!
Oh BOO HOO! They moved into a bigger place, more than 9,000 s.f. and we're supposed to feel sorry for this SOB?
Sorry, but I can't conger up any tears!!
Koppel is another bitch complaining about not selling his home that's worth more than most of us make in a year!! The economy is tanked! Oh no me and nick hogan have so much in common!! Waaaaaahhhhh! Fuking dip shit!! Y don't u try living middle class while the rest of us bitch about u not mowing our lawn!!
Re: HJ – Potomac Maryland is too far from Washington DC to walk and the Suburban traffic to and from is as you said awful. Plus no parking for out of town vehicles and even DC residents can not park longer than two hours when in different zones in Washington DC.
why buy a new home when it's going to become worth less than you paid for it?
GOTTA UNLOAD ??!! LMAO ..
Oh ok Perez…he is in a CRISIS so you say??? How is it he can afford 2 homes??? The new one is BIGGER than the other according to you. I do not think that he is in a crisis…come on.
"Buyer's" = evidence of an education system dominated by liberals.
It doesn't matter if you spell correctly or use proper grammar or punctuation — ooooh, it doesn't even matter if you make sense…it only matters that you express how you feel and that you feel good about yourself.
Obama = the oprahfication of the united states of america.
