Book smarts and street smarts are two different things, jackass. He's not saying "Don't go to college." You can graduate at the top of your class and still not know what the hell to do when you go out to eat, drive, walk down the street, etc.

I know a lot of people with street smarts AND book smarts. I would say having both is more important than just having street smarts. Going to college and reading books does not take away your common sense.

What does selling crack and going to college have in common besides the fact that they both begin with "C?" I think Snoop may have smoked some of that crack too. Although he is right, there is a difference between having what some call "book sense" and common sense. His analogy just sucked!

Selling crack or reading a school book is no guarantee of common sense. For him to imply that being a crack dealer instilled street smarts is a load of hooey. He likely got that trait from someone influential, like his mother or father. I just love how uneducated people love putting themselves on intellectual par with educated people, when they have absolutely no clue how difficult it is to achieve a proper education. I believe old snoop is guilty of the "appeal to ridicule" and "composition" fallacies, among others.
