He's bringing Puffy back! Puff Daddy to be exact.

My guess is that he was contractually obligated to something under the name Puff Daddy. It's been 7 years since he changed his name to P Diddy, the usual statue of limitations period, and I'm guessing his contract to whatever it was has expired. Perhaps it's something to look into.
I'm no legal analyst but that's usually what gets my attention when anyone changes their name after 7 years.
