A Worthwhile Cause

CLICK HERE to read up on and donate to a very worthwhile cause.

The Nancy and Daniel Benoit Foundation was started by the sister of the Nancy Benoit, who tragically lost her life and that of her seven-year-old son last year when her professional wrestler husband murdered them and took his own life.

The foundation is dedicated to steroid abuse prevention and steroid abuse education.

The one-year anniversary of these senseless deaths is this month. Contributing to their foundation would be a lovely tribute!

It is a nice cause and to # 2, what can someone not make a typing error?

I am personally a wrestling fan hearing about the whole situation disgusted me. And I hate how now everyone thinks that all wrestlers are drug addicts and use steroids.

Thank you for posting this Perez.

Here's a cause I think you should put up:

There's is a dying breed here in the U.S., and it's Perez's career and that shitty clothing line at Hot Topic. Please people, donate a buck or two, to help Perez pay for the inevitable check in to the nut-house. Perez, the people who hate you and even your "fans" told you to stop with the utter self-promotion, but you didn't listen, and then we have that tragedy of an autograph signing at Hot Topic. Buddy, those pictures of that "event" are priceless. But these charities you post, don't mind that you're unpopular and pathetic.

    Have a nice day shithead

ok the only problem I have with that is steroids wasnt the reason he killed them….roid rage doesnt last four days and everything was so intricate….He had brain damage from suffering over 150 concussions in his career. I'm sure steroids didn't help but that is not the cause of the murders. He had brain damage and it finally overtook his sanity….still horrible events and tragic. You can't blame a substance and a madman's actions.

Hello- I work at the HOT TOPIC where this piece of shit appearted on friday ( I was not working that day but showed up for shit n giggles ) ONLY 7 people showed up.SEVEN.That's it.Mario was BEYOND upset texting and DEMENDING the right water, food,ETC he was a rude royal pain in the ass and BEYOND crass.Talking about scat porn, fisting some kid and otherbest left unsaid topics. My manager was trying to get people to come in to meet Perez by handing out $5 gift cards NO ONE WANTED TO MEET HIM! His mother and sister were there and he seemed to take it out on them (they are both fat BTW and smelled nasty!) anyways he left around 8:45PM without saying goodbye to anyone & looked like he had been crying like the little bitch he is.

We sold a grand total of $6.45 of Perez Hilton items between 6PM - 9PM.

My manager has already talked about discounting his "line" !

Why do we create shit like STERIODS?!?!?!

We should work on finding cures for others things.

I'm pretty sure we already have a cure for AIDS n Cancer…………They're are probably 2 of the TOP SECRETS of the government.

I had read some about a guy from back in the day who found the cure for Cancer but he was killed because we could bennefit more from it.

    Sick! If that's truE!

Anyways, we ALL need to stop taking shit we dont really need!!!!!!

Sorry Pezfez, but don't you think this could be considered 'drug use'. You ever heard of DARE?

Actually that's not fair of me. When you lose someone you love like that you've got to do something.

But come on! How much money do you think I've got?

    23

Chris Benoit died of complications related to multiple concussions causing brain injury and his cognitive deterioration, psychotic and aggressive behaviours. His brain was sent for analysis and it has been proven that other wrestlers have experienced this problem as well.
Steroid abuse is common place in the wrestling world and I agree that this should end. But the behaviour that led to him murdering his wife and children as well as himself was brain injury related.

This is a wonderful cause. Despite the typo, donations to the foundatin have multiple benefits. Hopefully it will raise awareness of steroid abuse across the board and work to eventually eliminate them from all sports. The charity also helps those who have been abused and works to try to prevent future tragedies. And lastly it is a loving tribute to a beautiful lady and her innocent child who were taken from their family and friends way too soon. Thanks for this post Perez.

Is it just me or is this "foundation's" logo two bloody hearts? I'm giving to my gas tank and my kitchen cupboards today. Even steroid psychotic murdering wrestlers have more money than I do three days before payday. Maybe all of his old friends can pitch in and give this "foundation" a good start. I ain't your funder today.

Re: Nancy – Actually WWE has retracted everything they said about Chris. They took down his profile that night and he hasn't been honored in any way except for the tribute show they did the day of the deaths. When more information came out WWE said that they would no longer have anything to do with Chris but people still talk abot Nancy and his son.

    31

I understand COMPLETELY the foundation being in Daniels name..but wasnt Nancy the crazy-ass bitch who was feeding her kid growth hormones and drugs when all he was was autistic and generally smaller than other kids? Wasn't at one point she arrested for physically abusing her FIRST husband (also a wrestler) AND Chris and Daniel? I am NOT saying that Chris's behavior was condoned, but I don't think Nancy should be honored or raised up the same way little Daniel should!

  32. Carol says – reply to this

    32

    they didnt deserve to die.
but chris had a brain as a 80 some old man from all thoughs cussions.
and nancy feed there son steriods and she abused her 1st husband which also was a wrestler.

    SUCKS!

    33

chris benoit did not kill his family becuase of roid rage, he did not have any elevated levels of anabolic steroids in his system. he did this becuase he had a mental ilness that was not treated from jumping off top roaps onto people with his head. this article pisses me off.

Re: Kate – Kate oh dear kate…….Nancy sister is a dear friend of mine and the nonsense you write is horrible. Their family has been to hell and back throughout this past year from the pain of thier loss to the nasty media and now people like you. It makes me feel for people like you that have no heart for people and their loss and heartbreak. Hopefully you and your family will never have to deal with anything close to this and have to read and listen to comments that are just not true. Know you facts before you start making assumptions.

  35. Bob says – reply to this

    35

This might be a worthwhile cause, however, those who have been following this tragedy are aware that repeated concussions and resulting brain damage are likely more credibly responsible for Chris Benoit's behavior than steroid abuse. Steroids were assumed by every newscaster to be the cause of his behavior. Hindsight is lending clarity.

    36

i agree with Smurf… the CBC did a really good story on the Fifth Estate if anyone cares to sleuth around and look for it. it looked at many different types of pro athletes with concussions and how their brains looked like an alzheimer's patient. steroids didn't help this guy at all, and they did note that he was turning into a dick from all the painkillers and steroids, but it's not the whole story. Anywho, it's awful that it went so far without notice/treatment. at least a hockey player gets a helmet. wrestlers are expected to do all this crazy sh*t in a pair of underoos. SCARY, but get the whole picture m'kay?

Re: Heath – Actually…I lost my 8 year old stepson and my fiance this past year to tragic car accidents. and Im sorry, but the police reports on Nancy and the medical reports leaked the public- as well as interviews given by her family doctors- spoke for the situation as well. Nancy was a psycho who was damaging her son's mental and physical state by forcing growth hormones on her 8 year old.

Re: kate – You have no idea what you are talking about Kate…Daniel was seven, not eight. No hgh was ever given or found in Daniel's system. He was healthy, happy and loved his mother. There were no "reports" given by family doctors, the police reports show exactly the opposite of what you are saying…get it together and also realize there is a grieving family behind this loss and try not to be so ignorant.

Re: Nancy – THey absolutely do not support the use of steroids or any other drug. They have a strict drug policy. People are suspended all the time. They get 3 chances, then they are fired from the company forever. End of story. "Roid rage" is not what caused Benoit to kill his wife and son. It took too long and was too methodical.

Beyond that, there currently are numerous studies to see the effects of head injuries. There's already been proof the head injuries can cause depression, manic episodes, mood changes, changes in personality and so on. The autopsy results showed that Benoit had the brain of a 90 year old Alzheimer's patient. He wasn't right in the head. Clearly, the man had gone mad. He loved his family. Something took over his mind and brought him over the edge. It wasn't roids.

It's been said like 800 time, (more like 8) , Steroids were not the cause of this tragedy, an onset of Psychosis, caused by brain damage which what probably from getting beat about the head for 30+ years in a professional Wrestling Career. There are No studies that prove that Steroids cause anything more than an increase in Aggressiveness not full blown psychosis causing you to murder people. Statements like some of the ones above highlight the ignorance and willingness to accept the filtered information of agenda driven media without any critical thought what so ever. Considering the fact that no major studies of Steroids have been done inside the United States on adult males have been done to show short term and long term side effects. Most of the information out there is from unscientific anecdotally evidence. The reason steroids were banned in the first place in 1990 was becasue the NCAA didn't want to spend the money to police it's own athletes so they lobbied the government to ban them or schedule them as a class 3 drug putting testosterone in the same category as Cocaine and Heroin. You make testosterone in your own body, and the government classifies the same molecule as a schedule 3 drug. Lets not go into the fact that a lot of people killed by steroid are usually notorious drug addicts with a long history of addiction to narcotics (see lyle alzado). But cocaine never killed anyone right? right?
