Paul Newman is finally addressing the reports about his health.

A rep for the actor, Toni Howard, is saying that it is "not true" that he is battling terminal lung cancer.

Is he really cancer-free or is he just trying to recapture some privacy?

Either way, we just hope Mr. Newman is/gets well.

      No disrespect to Paul Newman, but why is it if he lies then it is "trying to recapture his privacy" but when Pete Wentz lies about Ashley's pregnancy, you call it lying? They are both health related issues.

      except that if you google Claude Bernard Horner syndrome, you will see that it's exactly how Paul looks in the first picture you posted (the one with ONE big dilated pupil), which is also a symptom of lung cancer.

      Paul's rumoured lung cancer is very iffy. I think a big litmus is where some of his friend's are at the moment. Joan Collins, a very close friend of both Paul and Joanne isn't even in the US, she's in England and France. Other friends of the Newmans are also out of town. I think if something was really gravely serious, they'd be there. My hope is that Paul is cancer free. He's done a lot of good for a lot of people.

      Paul Newman is in his 80's! He drank tons of beer for years, and he smoked. All the way into his early 70's, he didn't do healthy shit. Now he might be having breathing issues,not necessarily cancer. He might have emphysema! He could have cancer. He's definitely one of the Good Guys and I love him to pieces, but all things considered, he's had a good life. He's done work he absolutely loves and he's been a huge success at it. Second, his work will outlast him. He is immortal in film! Third, he has a good stable relationship with his wife, really rare, especially in H'wood. Fourth, his charity has really helped a zillion people. This will also live on after he is gone, because he just sold his food company to his foundation. If I am lucky enough to do just half of one of the things he's done, I will be a happy child.

Sir Paul is an American Hero and deserves twice the respect that Dubya "I sold the country to Haliburton" and Cheney "Dr Evil" will receive when they are brought to trial in the 2010s.       I think we shouldn't be speculating about some one's health, especially if they have chosen not to make it public. Having a serious disease is a very private matter and scary, to say the least. We can pray for him and his family.
