Charlie vs. Denise: Round 3,579

deniseandcharlie.jpg

Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards are still fighting over the immunization of their two little girls.

Denise wants them immunized. Charlie does NOT.

According to reports, the doctor for the kids has been siding with Denise.

Charlie's not backing down, though. Sheen's lawyer sent a letter to the pediatrician telling the doc that he'll be hit with a lawsuit if the kids get pricked.

Tough call!

There are pros and cons for both sides.

We think Denise and Charlie just like to fight about anything and everything. In public.

And we love them for it!

Charlie just costarred with Jenny McCarthy on his show. She is anti-vaccination, as she believes her child's auitism is tied to the inoculations. That's probably where this stems from. There are convincing arguments on both sides.

      41

Normally I think Charlie (and D for that matter) are complete morons…however, every parent I know w/ an Autistic child says, "he/she was just fine until right after her immunizations." Kudos to CS for at least questioning vaccines. Jenny McCarthy and Jim Carey were just in D.C. calling for the govt. to "Green Our Vaccines"–taking chemicals like arsenic, mercury and other heavy metals out of vaccines and relaxing the vaccine schedule so kids aren't given so many at once.

Again, and it pains me to say this, kudos to Charlie.

I am a parent so I understand concern over getting the shots, but I also feel that its very important to have our children vaccinated. We live in a shitty world with disease and all children should be protected and prevent spreading anything.
I do however believe that the way vaccinations are given is wrong and something needs to change in order to prevent things like Autism from occuring.

They need to get over themselves and act civilized for there kids. Enough said.

The shot causing the controversy is given at eighteen months. Years back, these shots had Mercury in them. I see both sides, but without the shots, we will see a recurrence of diseases that are virtually all but illuminated in this country. Team Denise. There are very many benefits to not only the children, but society, if they get immunized, and only one possible con: they have a mild reaction to the shots, resulting in a fever or muscle aches. Get your facts straight, Perez.

    64. Whisp says – reply to this

      64

Autism is hereditary not from immunizations. People whose children are unfortunately diagnosed with autism need something to blame it on. So instead of taking the blame themselves for something that is in their history, they blame immunizations. My brothers & I had to be immunized in order to attend school. All of us are perfectly healthy and doing well. The majority of people in America have to have their shots in order to go to school and the majority of us are fine.

Um … yeah, and the American President bombed the world trade center and the pentagon … oh wait - he believes that, too. Okay, pigs fly. Oh wait … when on LSD, he believes … oh never mind - they guy is a total idiot, who clearly is still in love with his ex-wife and is angry because he can't have her. Opposite of love is not hate, it's apathy!! hate v. love is just a very VERY thin line, Charlie and Denise!! Either cross it or leave your kids out of your cross-fire. And, get them vaccinated! Spread them out if you are concerned about autism, but GET them.

    68. 68

I would love to hear exactly why he doesn't want the girls vaccinated. Both girls are well past the age for autism concerns but they aren't past whooping cough, measles, rubella, etc. Even the alternative community believes it is better to immunize for most diseases. Not only is it a benefit to the individual child but for the community as a whole. My daughter had whooping cough (despite the fact she was immunized against it) and that stuff is nasty. She is also in daycare so it's good those other kids were immunized so they didn't get it.
I agree with other posters. I think Charlie is just fighting to fight.

    69. Alex says – reply to this

      69

I think Denise Richards is trying as hard as she can to make sure she has complete power over all situations and trying to make herself look good in the public eye. Her show isn't helping that because she just looks like a fowlmouthed tramp and a horrible role model for her children. She claimed that she wanted what was best for her children, then she went and put them on a reality show; her excuse was "well all reality shows have children." That's true but she is the only one parading around talking about how horrible Charlie is and how she wants what's best for the little girls. I think the least of the girls worries should be about a little flu shot. They need a Denise shot.

      70

Re: Chris – Sorry about your kid, really am, but, all arguments that MMR induces autism in kids are totally medically unsupportable and unfounded. Further, if you believe that it is that cluster of immunizations that causes it, then support separating them, as many parents do, who are superstitious and fearful. But, don't go moronic and wage war against vaccinations. That's nonsensical. That's like the parents who thought psychizophrenia was caused by the stress of going to college. No, it's just that the onset of it happens around age 18. Same goes for autism. Regardless, if you are concerned, separate / space out the vaccines (there have been no arguments that doing still leads to autism); but, don't risk our childrens' welfare on a need to blame.

    71. 71

Re: Chris – My daughter got all her recommended immunizations and she is fine. Since there isn't a concrete cause of autism that is scientifically proven, you have to weigh the pros and cons. Do I want my daughter to die of measles? Do we want a society where diseases like measles, mumps and rubella are rampant because people are choosing not to immunize their children? I know people who have children with autism and have seen the toll on their lives so I feel a lot of empathy for you but the jury is still out on the link between vaccines and autism.

I am the youngest of three children, and my sister and I have never been vaccinated but my brother has, he is autistic and my sister and I aren't. Every single parent that I have ever talked to with an autistic child tells me the same thing. That their child was perfectly normal until they were vaccinated, then they started acting very differetly. So personally i would look at the people who have been through the experience instead of the people trying to make money off the vaccines. Plus, to all those people who are saying "well when a flu epidemic breaks out your child will die" are quiet ignorant. If you've read past history you would know that small pox, and everything like that are on the decline. And only certain people get it. My mothers mom had 6 sisters and brothers who all lived in the same room for years and only one child got small pox, they others didnt and they didnt ever try to keep her away from the others.

Re: ABR – You're wrong. Children have DIED. Check out the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program or the VAERS database. There are genuine risks to immunizations.
Not everything they immunize for is deadly either. I suggest you read up on measle, rubella and chicken pox to start with. The chicken pox vaccine doesn't even provide permanent immunity. It wears off in about 6 years. Your child will require boosters every 6 years for the rest of their life as getting chicken pox as an adult can be life threatening whereas in children it's generally benign.
There has also been links to autoimmune disorders. Think about it, you're bypassing all the body's primary defense mechanism, like the skin, mucous membranes etc, and injecting this stuff directly into the child's bloodstream. Adjuvents that are added are supposed to help the immune system "speed things up" but in some individuals it may cause the immune system to go haywire and turn on itself. Look it up. The HPV vaccine is already linked to Guillen-Barre. I'll take measles and chicken pox over that any day of the week.

It's not just about the mercury, which is still there in trace amounts in some shots. It's also about aluminum, which at current levels exceed the normal amount a 150 pound adult should have by over 85 times. To make it even more alarming, we currently do not now how children are processing all this aluminum. We just don't know and no one is studying it, to my knowledge. We do know that aluminum is linked to Alzheimer's and Parkinsons though I'll admit that there is no causal relationship known yet.

@Yas - exactly! This should be a private issue between the parents/judge/doctors, but its not because Charlie wants it to be public. I am not a fan of Denise Richards' at all but the way Charlie's been acting, especially about the kids, its just juvenile. "OMG everyone, look at me! I'm a parent! I'm awesome! As a child, I spend the majority of 1st grade in a hospital battling meningitis. The doctors told my parents I was going to die. There are permanent scars inside my brain from the disease. Other kids I knew weren't as lucky, and died. Every one of my kids is getting the meningitis vaccine now that it's been invented. I hate saying this, but I have to side with Denise! As a mother, I hate the fact that these pricks don't immunize their children! Yes, there are cons to vaccines just like anything else in life, but these people seem to forget what older generations went through when polio, mumps, measles were common childhood diseases. I know people who were crippled because of polio!

And people who don't vaccinate their children put my child at risk! The only reason their kids can actually go through a life without getting these diseases is because most of us still vaccinate our children! So they like to play safe with their children at the expense of our vaccinated children! If everyone stopped vaccinating, these diseases would be common all over again!

Charlie, Denise is right on this one!

WTF do you expect the doctors to say? Of course they want to give the kids the shots. Everyone has been brain washed to blindly do what they are told, no questions asked. Charlie is right to question the shots.

Immunizations have been proven to be a good thing, but not they way they give them so many at a time and not with some of the harmful things they add to them. You can reduce the risk of the harmful side effects by spreading the shots out over time. That's a good compromise and I hope they take that route.

I don't have any idea what the right call is on this one, but I'm still Team Denise.

Then again, Furby said it even better…TEAM KIDS!

I can understand his concern but they could do the shots at separate times instead of all in one. They would reduce the concerns of possible autism but I think it has nothing to do w/ health. These two would fight over anything!!

Team Denise! All the way! The day will come when sick ass Charlie does all of this same shit to Brooke, there is no doubt in my mind. I love Denise and her dad, so sorry for the loss of her mom. She absolutely made a great call with her reality show. It never shows the girls, plus it just shows how down to Earth and funny she is. She has the best laugh ever! Charlie so fucked up!!! He was lucky to ever have her, dumb ass!

Lulu says – reply to this I vote letting both the kids get Polio. Then they'd be even more profitable n a reality show.

Re: chest – Hey dingleberry, they haven't vaccinated anyone for smallpox in YEARS. There is no vaccine on the schedule for smallpox.

Okay, I'm with Denise on this one. Charlie is a moron who is leaving his children vulnerable to a multitude of life threatening illnesses. They have not used Thermiserol, Mercury, in vaccines for over 5 years and the rate of autism has exploded. It was a good theory, but it's simply not true. While I do believe the shots should be spread out (not four at once) every child needs to be vaccinated. He's a moron.
