Not only do those ads for Pharmaceuticals appear on local news, they're all over national newscasts as well - it makes people think that if they're having a bad day they can call their Dr and a pill will just "make it go away." So I kind of agree with you Perez. Yes, they do market a ASS LOAD of medications on the TV, but did you know there are people out there that actually DO need to take medications?? Im 23 and I take over 10 pills a day. Thanks to heredity and a bad immune system, Im stuck with a disease that I HAVE to take medications for. It wont kill me, but it sucks…and medicine is the ONLY way to keep me healthy…so like it or not…we need drugs!!

Perez! You are a nut! I love you! I know how you feel about going to the gym. I know I am never going to be a person that loves working out, but when I leave I do feel great. So when I am feeling lazy and don't want to go, I just have to remind myself how awesome I will feel later!! I hear what you are saying about the bypass surgery…but you are talking a lil loco. If you went into the dr. asking for the surgery, any reputable dr. would say you are not a candidate!! it is supposed to be a last resort for people that will probably die if they do not get it. and it is major, major surgery! no one likes to talk about the real risks, people want to believe that there is a magic operation or pill to solve their problem when in reality, it takes hard work! anyway, if you achieve your goals on your own you will feel more of a sense of accomplishment, you know that and i know you can already see that. keep up the good work!!

The problem is with pharmaceutical and insurance companies. Health insurance doesn't want to pay for the doctor's to run all sorts of tests to give a proper diagnosis. Pharmaceutical companies keep pushing their drugs.

There would be less health concerns if people started eating healthy, eating less and got off their butt!!! The problem is we live in such an instant gratification society that we don't have the patience to get long term results through exercise and diet. We want our quick fix and then be done with it.

But the drugs are for when the doctor says things like "we need to find out if you have leukemia or is it a lymphoma," it's for when body parts don't work just because they don't (not because of overeating or illegal drug-taking). It might be a good idea to keep your happiness about how healthy you are…to yourself–you don't want to tempt la fuerza del destino. You know what I mean? Plus…don't you have a DVD player so that you don't have to be bombarded by commercials during your workout? And also…don't depend so much on needing to be happy all the time–just…be. And P.S.: Don't EVER dance again.
