Cancer Battle Confirmed

Paul Newman's longtime neighbor and business partner confirmed on Wednesday that the screen legend is battling cancer.

Writer A.E. Hotchner, who partnered with Newman to start Newman's Own salad dressing company, said the actor told him about the disease about 18 months ago.

Hotchner doesn't say what kind of cancer the legendary actor has but said Newman is in active treatment.

Get well, Mr. Newman!

May your days be pain-free and surrounded by loved ones.

He's been with his wife forever, he's raised TONS of money for charity, he does what he loves and that's car racing… Everything about this dude is amazing. Plus he was Cool Hand Luke.       next time you write about Paul, please use a photo from when he was in his prime!!! the photo choices you have been using, do not do him justice. Some people may not know who Paul Newman is and what a tremendous talent he is - it would be best to remember him as the smoking hot man he was in the 1960s instead of these photos of an aging Paul.

      Can I just say that I really like the last line of this post.. "May your days be pain free and surrounded by loved ones". That really is a wonderful sentence. I recently wrote a letter to a young friend who was just given less than six months to live, and I had no idea what to say. When you know the person is going to die soon, "get well" doesn't cut it. I wish I had this line when I wrote that letter…..
