Katherine Heigl has signed on to star in a film about polygamy.

Smart? Not smart?

It'd definitely not a romantic comedy!

But, the Grey's Anatomy star isn't just acting in the film. She's also producing.

That's DEFINITELY smart!

      Well lets not jump the gun and pronounce someone "smart" simply because they produce. I've known of many dipsh*t producers in my time, as I'm sure you have as well. I'll tell ya this though — producing a film is one of the smartER moves she's made lately… unlike the chimney smoking she has decided to partake in *AHEM*. Now THAT, my friends, is an absolutely retarded thing to do.

      Smart! Katherine was raised in a Mormon household I think, so who better to do a movie about Polygamy? And it is so in the news right now……the whole Texas thing, and Elizabeth Smart on the cover of People Magazine this week…it is very current.

      Katherine is one smart cookie. Her husband writes beautiful lyrics and seems to be a real smarty too……good for them.

      It is nice to see a couple in Hollywood who act normally and behave themselves with dignity. I would love to have them over for dinner……they both seem so interesting and nice. I'll bet they would be great neighbors.

      The Mormon church has been trying to separate itself from polygamy since 1890, but many people still believe a strong association between the two. I can't imagine that they're going to be pleased that Katherine, who was raised Mormon, is going to star in a film on this topic unless the film makes it very clear that the Mormon Church no longer adheres to that doctrine.

      I love her, but I'm wondering how her own religious community will respond considering she is a morman. I hope that she does the movie well to separate the idea that many mormans are polygamists. She is one sharp cookie, though. I also love her husband, he is such a cutie!

      …Is a great show with great heart and shows that polygamists aren't just holdovers from the days of Little House on the Prarie. And it also has its funny moments. But since Big Love is on TV now, is a film about polygamy all that groundbreaking? Katherine Heigl should be careful not to overreach her limits. She should stick to romcom, chick-flick fare.

      I hope that she will show that polygamists are not Mormon. Maybe it will educate more people about that. I think that is probably a motivation of hers and she should know a lot about the history of her church. I think it's a good move.

      What a bunch of uneducated people on here. Mainstream Mormons are NOT polygamists. They do not follow that practice at all. In fact those who do are ex-communicated from the Mormon Church. Wake-up and educate yourselves.

      Smart…if Charlize Theron did only romantic comedies she'd have no career. Katherine is making a good move by not type-casting herself for life like Maniston.

      Re: TAB – No its not 'Mormonism' but it still is Fundamentalist Mormonism which is based off the teachings of Brigham Young & Joseph Smith! I hate how Mormans try to act all Holy bc they no longer 'condone Polygamy' when in reality that's one of the founding principals of their church that those people who practice it are following. Plus many Mormons are still sympathetic to those that follow the church's true teachings.

      I love Christian's reactions to Mormonism's insanity, it's like an atheist's reaction to all religion.
      Reminds me of the SouthPark Mormon episode, DUMB DUMB DUMB DUMB!

      I read the book that the movie will be based upon. I'm just happy that the movie will be made! So hey hopefully the story will be good with her in it. Its a amazing memoir!

      She is a Mormon and I hope it doesn't push the whole religious thing…. About how great Mormonism is and 'educating' how they're no longer polygamists etc. Dang I hate 'Watchtower' and the ppl who come harassing me at my doorstep!
