Lily used to be Capitol Records' "golden girl" but lately she's just been slipping. She's known these days more fore being a tragic trainwreck than a musician. She knows it too. That must hurt!
And, now, it seems she's been replaced.
Replaced by none other than a Perez fav, Katy Perry, which we first introduced you to last year.
Katy also performed at our kick ass party in Austin during SXSW this past March.
Well, according to reports, a music industry insider has said, "Lily Allen is peeved at Capitol. She feels like they've shoved her aside to focus all their energies on their new girl of the moment, Katy Perry."
But the real insult, according to the source, came when the label "replaced a photo of Lily Allen with one of Katy Perry" in its office main lobby.
Ha ha ha ha!!!!!
Lily is starting to look like washed-up goods.
The only thing that can save Allen now???? If she makes a good sophomore album!

Re: krist – I absolutely agree. Give Lily a break… I adored her debut album, and I actually really enjoy her new material, as do a lot of her fans. I think "I could Say" is a particularly beautiful song. I've always appreciated her wit, and the fact that she owns up to her mistakes. I love reading her Myspace blog as well. Give the girl a chance. She's been through a lot of shit this year. Perhaps she doesn't have the powerhouse vocals of someone like mariah, but there's something angelic about it which makes her sharp-tongued lyrics all the more satisfying, and I think her work is always original and fun.
Lilly Allen "Washed Up?!" What is she, 22? How.very.fickle. These are talented musicians and people, not the latest kids toy that you toss aside after 15 minutes out of boredom. Musicians season and improve their whole lives, whether they are heralded in the populist mainstream or not. I know more lifelong musicians in my city with more skills in their little fingers than most of what the profit makers package and shove down our throats today, with some exceptions. A deeper view is needed. Music is so much more than just pop culture to a dedicated musician. Narrow views denote shallow intelligence.

Bias much? Katy pipes certainly measure up against Allen's but the difference is Allen is actually talented and Lily can write a genuinely solid song. When KP puts the pen to paper she's a complete mess, the majority of her songs that actually resonate are A) written by her full-time producers, the originally named, The Matrix or B)Pre-existent tracks that she's shamelessly re-done. Let's be honest here the majority of Katy Perry hype is due to her (off-stage) personality and the squeaky clean production she's blessed with. The majority of her stuff is straight from the cookie-mold at least Allen's creative and mildly original.

To be honest, i've gone right off Katy. I was listening to her on myspace well over a year ago (not trying to be one of those "Im so indie people") when she didn't even have "Ur so gay" or "kissed a girl" on there.
That was when i liked her. Now, i just think she's too processed. Like people said before, she's cookie cutter. Her vocals have lost that "raw" edge and are really synthetic now. You can't deny she has talent, its probably her new producers who are killing it.
