Not bad. I'm not a country fan, but I do like old Jewel. She has the voice to do many styles successfully. She looks great too.

I have loved Jewel from Day 1. Way before Pieces of You became HUGE!
It was released in 1995 but the first single 'Who Will Save Your Soul was release on June 4, 1996 in the US. I bought that album in summer of '95 right after school was out. After hearing her album I knew she'd be a hit!

actually the recent updates about jewel have been triggered by me, i showed him where to listen to the full cd when he stated that it was "country done right" and i sent him the link to this vid this morning….so unless jewel found out about it.. i doubt he is being paid. and i know he likes jewel, so i keep sending the updates. obviously someone likes her… she had the #1 country album last week. and "stronger woman" went top 15 on country radio.

There was a country song years ago called "Seven Year Ache" which it sounds like she sampled the melody to a tee. Not a bad song, like the lyrics. Saw her at an acoustic set in Missoula back in 2002. Nothing wrong with spreading your wings a bit.

Her first album was inspired. That is the obvious difference. She always says she doesn't try to make hits, but that is exactly what she has been trying to do ever since she had her first one. It's all been down-hill since then.
Yeah, she can sing in many different genres, but is that really the point here? No, she's trying to make $$$$. It's sad, but, that is unfortunately what a lot of musicians' ultimate goal is. Sacrificing their art to try and meet the record companies idea of what the general public wants (or what the general public will buy, rather).
I think it is a shame.

If you knew anything, you would know Jewel left a major label by her own choice of 11 years because they only wanted her to produce stuff that made money. She moved to a small label that allowed her to be herself, try new things and not worry about making a buck. Jewel wanted to try a new genre, which only REAL musicians can do. Why she should only do one type, she is an artist. Do your homework.
