Katie Price (aka Brit 'glamour' model Jordan) won a prize for riding a horse early this week, reports the Brit media.
And she rode it all sophisticated style!
We found it hard to believe, but Jordan finished sixth in a dressage competition.
Plus, it was her competition debut!
The report goes on to say that Jordan is planning to invest on her sports career, having her eyes set on the 2012 London Olympics.
Jordan - Olympic athlete. Words we never thought we'd hear in the same sentence!
What's next? Heidi Montag, Oscar winner????

Just to clarify, horse sports are not for the elite only. The majority of riders and competitors are working stiffs. Folks who make their living working with horses make NOTHING. They do it for the love of the animal and the lifestyle.
Hauling hay around, caring for horses and the other farm animals you usually find on farms is no easy life. It's true that at some levels people with a lot of money fare better than others, but it's a huge misconception that horses are for the wealthy only.

Case in point, if anyone even watched her show on E, they would know that she's been a horse lover/rider since childhood. This may have been her first competition, but who cares? and it is easier to excel in if you have more money. much easier. you can pay off the judges or pay someone to make your horse perfect, because its easy to make a trained horse do it right.

As an equestrian I can assure you were are not sluts and I am sure my fellows equestrians who read this page can say the same. I also think its great she won in her first competition.
So Katie Price won a prize for riding something. And we're shocked because? For Christ sake, the woman made her name by being the bird you shag if you want to end up in the tabloids in the UK. Particularly if you don't want to be tagged as gay (Will Young, anyone?). She won an award for what she knew best: Spreading her legs and bouncing at the appropriate moment.
As someone that competes in grand prix Dressage. The only way hse could get into the Olympics would be for her to buy a ticket. Dressage is perhaps the hardest of riding sports both physically and mentally for the rider. There are many gifted people twith exceptional horses that never get into the british or US olympic teams. Competition is just too fierce. Takes about 20 years of serious training for the rider and about 10 to 15 years of training forhte horse to get to that level and getting picked to ride for your country is nearly as difficult as winning the powerball on top of it. Maybe if suddenly becomes a citizen of Belize or some other poor andtiny country she could pay her way to ride for them. I just have to laugh. Her competition was beginning level. Very basic dressage elements. My 13yr old daughter rides at Pre-st George level. Thats about 5 levels above her. From that photo, Her reins are too tight, horses head is behind the pole. just completely bad comformation. She is extremely lucky to get 6th place. Unless, there were only 6 riders in the class.

Dressage sucks!! Jumper!! Orr even Hunter jumper! I'de like to see her do that shiz. I'm glad that equestrian is getting bigger. I've been riding since I was just a wee tot. It's the best thing in the world. It's fun, and it's a challenge. I've won my fair share of shows, but that's only every once in a while. The best part of equestrian is riding in the mountain, in the middle of nowhere, so peaceful. Oh, it's also fun to bring doobies and drinks along! I'm also glad that prettier girls are getting into it. So many girls that are in this sport are just so fugly. Not me of course… lol

It was presumed at the time that they were doing the deed and the rumours of his sexuality died down. Obviously it is now considered a ruse but at the time, most accepted it at face value: Young guy dates bird with huge tits. She enjoyed it so much that when she was pregnant with her child Harvey by Dwight Yorke, she continued smoking and drinking and I would not be at all surprised if she was taking drugs at the time and as a result ehr child was born blind because his optic nerve hadn't developed properly. If you have a clue on what you are doing you can rake in the cash. Breed mares with show records to the right stallions, run a lesson or training program with a top instructor, board show horses, etc etc and you'll rake in the cash. I would know ;0)
Good for katie! Dressage is really really hard…it is one of the hardest in all the equine sports out there. There is so much you have to think about.
Just an FYI most people that ride horses do it for the love of horses….it isn't a silly hobby that daddy just pays for. It is a lifelong blessing a passion that people have for horses. It is a different world…and you don't have to be rich to be in it. Yes there are a lot of rich people who ride horses but most of them just hop on a horse to say they ride horses…but for the people that have been riding for years and compete….they are true lovers and I believe Katie is one of them. And….we are not sluts. I am far from a slut!

It's a flash, not a figure eight. Also, anyone who believes that dressage is the "toughest discipline" probably has only done dressage. As someone who has dabbled in dressage, hunters, jumpers, and eventing, I can promise that every style of riding is just as physically and mentally challenging as the next. I'm sure a few western riders can chime in, as I haven't been on that side of the fence.
I like that she is doing something positive with herself. This is a very good example she is setting for not only her daughter, but other girls who look up to her as well.
Dressage is pretty hard cardio wise. Eventing is just plain scary. Nothing like jumping over an immovable object and not being able to see tothe other side and then finding that your landing a 6 degree slope. Then show jumping. Tryingto jump triple 6'5" oxers in a tight "L" pattern. I once did that inthe pan am games 15 years ago. Thank god for my 17.3 hand hannovarian mare. One thing that does help her is that if she hada true "push button" horse. that horse can make an average rider look like a star. Thats one thing that money can buy.
Bythe way, western riding can be just has difficult as english. Infact more so. Cutting is fun and not easy. ALso, trail classes when you have to negotiate obstacles are something else to watch. Then lets not forget Bronk riding and enlgish and western wagon team classes. Managing teams of 4 horses through tight courses for speed is amazing to see.

Re: wynn – Nice try, Wynn. Not only have I ridden horses my entire life, I work for a NGB. (Translation: National Governing Body for Olympic sports) The majority of Olympic athletes have to work another job in order to support the cost of competing in their sport. The NGB's these athletes compete for are non-profit, which means they don't get paid much at all–and in order to get paid, you have to be damn good at what you do. They have to earn every penny.
Competing in an equestrian sport is expensive, but so are most sports. Just because they are wearing nice show coats instead of jerseys does not automatically make them snobs or elitist. Of course you have your winter Florida circuit of trophy wives, but once again, you can find those types of people in every sport. Regardless, you can't buy talent.
I will agree that 2012 is overly ambitious…it takes years of hard work and training to make it on the national team, no matter how much money you may have. (Look at Zara Phillips-her mother is Princess Anne and her father is Captain Mark Phillips. She has been training every day for years in order to TRY to make the Olympic team.)
I wish Katie Price the best of luck. Judging by the picture, she has fabulous form and her horse is alert and happy. In the end, that is all that matters.

Boy is someone disallusioned. This is a sport-especially dressage- that takes years and years to master. She cannot possibly think, no matter how much money she has, that she can go from showing for the first time in 2008 to olympics 2012 four years later. Most people that go to the olympics are older and have been working at it for several decades. He horse alone is trained for many years too. Maybe she should set her sights on something that is more realistic like (Gena Davis) Archery or something like that. I guarantee that she will not make it.
As a dressage rider myself, this is not a sport you "pay" to do well in! It takes a lot of work, even if you're on an experienced horse! You have to ask for things properly and it has to look effortless and graceful as well. Of course, being able to afford a nice horse helps, but you still have to work hard.
Glad she has something worthwhile to focus on!

This is so frustrating, I know how big headed this sounds but I was a good horse rider and ready to compete in Australian Champion events. But like all us normal people who don't get our cunts out for money my family didn't have enough so I have had to quit. I wish there was a reality show for me and my horse to go on so that we could beat Jordan lol…or smack her in the face. Yes it is a rich girl sport and some of the best horse riders ever are all unknown because they don't have money…look at the royal family, they go in all the olympic events and they ride like they need a shit. And also to the person saying all girls that ride horses are sluts, I'm not so watch what you say.
