An insider tells Entertainment Weekly, “The show bent over backwards to accommodate her film schedule, and then she criticizes the show for lack of material? It's an ungrateful slap in the face to the very writers responsible for her Emmy win in the first place.”

Why is she an ingrate for speaking her mind? She was speaking the truth. This season was an absolute pile of crap. The writing was awful and the show itself wasn't entertaining at all. Yes, the writers are partially to thank for her Emmy win, but if the actor doesn't think the material is worth being nominated for, they have every right to say it.
This whole "shut up and be nice the people that pay you" is bull. Just as the writers had every right to go on strike earlier this year, the actors have a right to voice their distaste for the writers' work.
Wasn't she picketing for the write's during the strike? Wow, talk about being a two-faced diva! Every single show that stopped airing during the strike came back with crappy material. I like Katherine Heigl and all, but this has made her go down a few notches in my book. I agree that she was being honest, because Grey's did start to go downhill after season 2/3, but she could've phrased it better than to just stick it to the writers.

Never have watched a second of Grey's Anatomy, but when will all these TV girls stop trying to overreach and become movie stars? Katherine Heigl, Jessica Biel, Mischa Barton, Rachel Bilson, even Jennifer Aniston and Sarah Michelle Gellar….just stop! I am no fan of Katherine heigl but she does have a point her character really didn’t get any good material this past season of grey’s, but then again I think that grey’s as well as many other shows suffered creatively from the writer’s strike.but hearing how the producers made efforts to work the show around her busy film schedule, shows how ungrateful she is.i think it is time for her to move on from the show.

She's not an ingrate. They make millions upon millions of dollars off of her. If they accommodate her movie schedule, she gets more press therefore the show gets more attention as well. I think it was unprofessional. You keep those issues "in-house" and don't air your dirty laundry for the world to read and hear. Being an adult doesn't mean you can do and say whatever you want, being an adult means you are able to check yourself before you say something stupid, out of line, hurtful, or untrue. Being a professional adult, KH should have talked to the producers about her feelings…but she probably just wants out to make more crappy movies along the Kate Hudson genre…hmmm, just what the world needs!
