A real loss to the journalism world. He was quite the refreshing interviewer, a nice change from the conservative radicalism of fox news. He will be sorely missed.

I'm crying for him ..and for us, for he was indeed a great man. I'm a Conservative and I loved him for the great son, husband and dad he was and I liked his style … he knew humility when so many know not the word or the meaining of it. GOD BLESS HE AND HIS LOVED ONES AT THIS TRAGIC LOSS!!

Of course I knew who this man was.. He was the guy from the news who did the poiltics. After watching his tributes all last night and today I am so much more saddened by his passing. what a great man!! I pray for his family and friends. God Bless and enjoy heaven tim!!!!
We live in a time where there is a shortage of honest and fair journalism - sensationalism has sadly replaced it. Tim Russert was one of the few impartial and accomplished political journalists that knew how to interpret politics without bias. He seemed to use the people as his guide, not the powers in Washington. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time. What a loss for our nation.

It's really an amazing thing to see Tom Brokaw on the verge of tears. We watched MSNBC last night and Keith Olberman was crying. It's such a sad tragic story. There is no way he can be replaced.

Tim Russert made it so easy to understand politics, and his passion for the political world was contagious. And on top of all that he was an amazing family man. He is obviously going to be greatly missed. I hope all the young people understand and appreciate just how important of a media figure he was to our generation. RIP and condolences to his friends and family.

What an important lesson this should be teaching us. It is not what designer you wear, what car you drive, the size of your waist or how much money you have that defines who you are. What ultimately defines you is the love and respect that you leave behind when you pass.
Mr. Russert will be missed and he will be remembered. May we all live our lives as fully and truthfully as he did.

When I heard about Tim Russert's passing, my heart dropped. For someone aspiring to be a journalist, he was a huge inspiration to me. My heart goes out to all of his family, friends, and colleagues.

This world was a better place because of the man that Tim Russert was. We can all learn to be better quality individuals because of him. His grace will be missed.
How sad…It's terrible when this kind of stuff happens. Especially a sudden tragedy. It's happened to my family and I completely feel for his and my heart goes out to those around him; family, friends, and loved ones.

Well,…thankfully, this man lived a wonderful life…doing what he loved, and standing up for what he believed. A strong christian, with strong christian values…this man is certainly greeting S.t Peter at the pearly gates. He was one that was not afraid to "go there" and ask "those questions"…anyone that poses that kind of threat to the anti-christ's campaign will face the same sad demise. IT is a strong message to send, but the Obama train is steaming with hellfire. …and and all that might cause a bump will have to deal with the devil. God save us all….

Unfortunately for you and the very deceased Mr. Russert, our Consitution actually guarantees the right to vote to a far wider swath of the citizenship than you would prefer. This is actually better for you than you may think, however, because if voting were only open to intellectuals or even those with a modicum of intelligence, your Mr. Obama would be ineligible in all "57 states". As would you.

I'm surprised there aren't more comments also. The man is irreplaceable. He did tremendous research and asked the tough questions, so people would get a lot out of watching his interviews. He made that show singlehandedly what it is. A terrible loss, especially during an election year.

My heart is broken. What a truly amazing, inspiring, intelligent man that we have lost. After watching hours of the celebration of his life on MSNBC, and the pain and mourning of those that knew him best, I can honestly say I've cried several times. I'll probably cry several more. I can tell you that I will strive to have even a fraction of his grace, which is more than most people ever have. In my daily life, however trite this seems, I will always ask, "What would Tim Russert do?"
It was terrible to hear the news but Tom Brokaw's obvious emotional pain made me want to drop down to the floor and cry. A terrible loss for everyone.

I was so sad to hear of his passing. Shocked actually. I looked forward to MTP every Sunday and loved Russert's style of journalism. I feel horrible for his father who also seemed to be such a sweet man.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends and all those who know and care about Mr. Russert. This must be such a difficult time for them, as it is for the nation who lost such a thorough and unbiased newsman, a rarity today. He was always such a class act and a loving family man. Saturday, 6-14-08, west coast, 8:40 p.m….89 posts regarding the institution that was Tim Russert, and the post below that, about the looks of a girl who was born to two celebrities, 740 posts. This reconfirms why I removed perezhilton.com from my favorites list. Weakness on my part…I used to glance 3 times a day…now that I removed it from my favorites and have to actually type "pere" into my computer, I only check this site maybe 2x per week….still too much, given these recent statistics. I have a job to do with my kids, and it doesn't involve this world.
When I wanted unbiased reporting, I turned to Tim Russert. He was a giant of a man and journalist. My deepest sympathy to his family.
What a beautiful man in so many ways. I always had a secret crush on him. His enthusiasm and passion was infectious. He could make anyone who watched him excited about politics. I envy the passion he had for his job and for life. He was a one of a kind journalist, brilliant yet still the common man who loved sports, his country, his family and God. He is truly irreplaceable and will be missed. Rest in peace Tim.
The world has certainly lost a great person. Tim was the epitamy of intelligence and class wrapped in an "every man" package. His enthusiasm and passion for politics will be sorely missed this November. The world of journalism has lost a huge champion. Rest in peace Tim. You've left a legacy many can only aspire to leave.
Tim was a true professional, a brilliant political journalist, a loving husband, proud proud father, and adoring son. May he rest in peace and may his family and large circle of friends find comfort in their memories of him.
An 11 year old and 13 year old girls were brutally murdered this past week and few if any know of their untimely deaths. Time to put this Russert story to bed as it's 15 minutes were up yesterday. The guy lived to see 58 and that's alot more years then the 11 and 13 year managed to see. So let's call it a night on Tim's not surprising death and move on with the news of the day which will yet again not mention the young girls murder.
