We use this organization every 8 weeks when they fly my husband to his cancer treatments. They no tonly help children, but adults as well. My husband would probably not be alive if he did not make these trips!!! Miracle Flights rocks!!!
I think a real worthwhile cause would be to get enough signatures to STOP THESE RIDICULOUS WORTHWHILE CAUSES. They get no posts and are a turd in the punchbowl at the party. Please no more whore!
78% of the money does go to the kids. However, publicity whores like Perez get a % of the remaining donations, in return for advertising. He should be making one of these posts a month, mentioning various charities, instead of posting them every day and revealing himself to be the hypocritical cunt that he truely is. Don't buy it guys!
Why doesn't he just pick one cause and stick with it, instead of posting so many that it would be impossible to keep up with them all? To me, that shows that there is no passion behind these causes.
Is there something in it for him to keep posting up all these "worthwhile causes" that he could actually not care less about?
Miracle Flights for Kids is the largest flight organization in the country. We have flown over 53,000 flights! We fly ANYWHERE and AS MANY times as needed. Miracle Flights for Kids flies the most children and adults, the most miles, and has the largest human impact of any other flight organization in America. We are averaging more than 500 flights a month! If you REALLY look into how much other well known charities use in administrative & fundraising costs you would see that MFFK is very mindful of how the money is spent. We are very thankful for this posting and would like to assure everyone that Perez did NOT receive any money for writing about us.
My Grandma used to be a pilot for this org. I maybe wrong but pretty sure some of that 22% goes to the maintenace and gas cost for the pilots. They voluteer their services and their planes. Very costly as you can imagine. They are some of the nicest people you will ever meet and truely are real life flying angels! Love you Grams!
i would just like to tell you that i appreciate you posting these articles becuase in my childhood i experienced having a life threatening disease. But what bothers me is that you post these nice and from the heart articles, and then write mean, horrible ones in the same day. It really shows your true colors, and its disappointing. I know your response would be then to tell me don't bother reading, but just because i read your dirt doesnt mean i agree with it at all.
So, I agree it's a worthwhile cause, but can someone please correct the spelling on this PROFESSIONAL website "charrtable"? What the hell is that? CHARITABLE?
This is a great organization. And that 22% does help with plane maintenance and such. Keeping an airplane in the air is costly. I have a small plane and even that takes a good amount. Great organization, as is Angelflight.com who does pretty much the same thing. I hope to one day be a volunteer pilot for such an organization.
My daughter recently recieved a flight through MFFK and we are beyond greatful. Without this organization we would have had a much harder time getting our 10 month old from the West Coast to the East Coast to have an expert in the field treat her hemangioma. I believe this organization is very thoughtful and I commend them for what they do!
We have used Miracle Flights twice for a therapy that was out of state. With out Miracle Flights we would not have been able to afford the therapy. As a parent of a special needs child it is hard to decide what we can afford and what we have to pass on. How can you look in the eyes of your disabled child and say, "Sorry we can't afford to get you there. Too Bad." With Miracle Flights we are able to get him to the therapies he needs to succeed without the financial burden that is always in our face.
Miracle Flights for kids has been a huge blessing to our family. One of our six children, was born with a Portwine Stain on the left side of her face. Thanks to Miracle Flight's assistance our baby has had 4 laser surgeries with two of the leading doctors in the field. Miracle Flights for kids has flown us to New York and California and thanks to these laser surgeries her birthmark has faded wonderfully. This medical condition, still requires many more treatments/surgeries in the future. As parents of 6 young children, it is very hard to pay out of pocket for all these laser surgeries out of State, and air travel. Thanks so much, Miracle Flights for making it possible for our baby to receive the medical treatments that she needs. God Bless you & thanks so much! God bless all those who have donated to this noble cause!
Miracle Flights is a wonderful organization. I have two boys with Cancer and they just flew me and my oldest son with a Brain Tumor to his treatment in January and now we have to go back in July. I don't know what I would have done if they could not have helped us out. Not only do they use commercial airlines but they have Volunteer Pilots that spend their own time and money as well. This is really one program out there that DOES help. Thank You Miracle Flights and all the Men and Women that volunteer their help and planes and experience. My son would not have gotten treatment if it were'nt for you!!!!! The Davis Family
Re: Cause – Re: Cause –
I have spent my lifetime helping others as and educator starting in the streets of New York City then as a Principal in the South and later as a Professor at three different state universities.People always asked me why I did so much for kids like taking a bus load of kids from a housing project cross- country on a camping trip one summer, I always answered that someday I knew someone would be there for my kids.Well I became disabled and my baby triplet boys had to be flown across the country for medical treatment and Miracle Flights made it possible. Without them we may have lost our boys. Time to stop talking (blogging) and take some action-like opening your wallet for kids who need you.
Miracle Flights for Kids has been a lifesaver for our family. My 2 year old son has fibular hemimelia, a rare birth defect affecting about 1/30,000 children. He is missing his fibula bone and half of his foot on his left leg. Because of this, he was unable to walk, run, jump, or play like the other kids. Fortunately, there was a hospital located in Baltimore that could reconstruct his foot and ankle, and lengthen his left leg, so that he too could one day play like the other kids. The surgery was extensive and required us to return to Baltimore every 2 weeks for 8 months. Miracle Flights for Kids was there for us every step of the way and flew us out to Baltimore every single time. They are an amazing organization and without them, my son would not be running around with other kids today! When you have a child who requires such extensive medical treatment, the financial strain can be daunting. Without Miracle Flights for Kids, we could not have afforded to travel to Baltimore and my son would not have received the care he needed. I also want to assure everyone who is reading this that Miracle Flights for Kids is a wonderful charitable organization, and like all organizations, some of the proceeds need to go to cover expenses, otherwise the organization would not be able to exist.
Also, even though this is a celebrity gossip site, any exposure for this organization would be beneficial, they are able to help thousands of people purely through donations from others. Please try to spread the word in a positive way because this organization helps so many people and they can continue to help people only with the help of people like you; people who care about the well-being of others and want to help with the cause.
My dad uses MFFK to travel from Phoenix to Houston for treatmetns. He was dignosed with inoperable pancreatic cancer in June 2007. Without the travel I would not be telling you now that he is doing well and we are so happy to have him with us still. The dr.'s in AZ told us they could keep him comfortable while.. in Houston the are helping him fight. The difference is beyond words. Thank you to all those who support this cause!!
My 9 year old daughter, Allorah, has had the wonderful opportunity to utilize MFFK since the age of 4. She suffers from a very rare autoimmune disease, Juvenile Dermatomyositis and we live in NM and her physician is in Houston at Texas Childrens Hospital. MFFK has made it possible for her to keep her wonderful physician from the age of 2 to present. If it wasn't for the generous support of this organization, it would be financially devastating for me and my husband to have to find a way to get her to her appointments and consults every 3 months. Please help these medically fragile children to keep attaining the best medical care by giving to an organization that will get them to their life-saving appointments for no cost to the family. Unless you have ever been in this kind of situation, it is difficult to understand the pressure that this can cause a family, please give to such a worthwhile cause. Sincerely, Shannon Cota
Hello, my 6 year old daughter was diagnosed with Chiari Malformaion two days after Christmas. It turned our life upside down. After some research we realized we needed to have our daughter seen at The Chiari Institute on Long Island, NY. We live 2 hours west of Seattle, about as far away from NY as you can get. We heard about Miracle Flights and we were amazed a how quickly they responded to our need, they flew my daughter and I to NY and back, working around our scheduled appointments. Their staff is fantastic. Someday, when we get past these medical expenses, we hope to give back to Miracle Flights.
Merical Fligts for Life helped my daugher get from Illinois to Virginia for her surgery. Ariel had a tumor on her brain. Its a rare condition she had. And that was one of the only hospitals that has done this surgery. Being a single mom of 4. I couldnt afford this on my own. I owe them so much. Thanks!
This organization really does what they say they do. They have sent my husband from CA to NC every 8 weeks for treatment. They are saving our family thousands of dollars and they do it with warmth, love and compassion. Some day, when my husband is in remission from his brain cancer, and the medical bills are behind us, our family will be happy to make a donation to this wonderful organization. So, if you are well and able please donate today. The Enriquez Family
We have used MFFK twice to travel to Johns Hopkins for my 6 yr old's treatment. Without their assistance, my family's financial sittuation would be much worse. They have helped ease the financial burden that accompanies caring for a cronically ill child. I dont care what the percentages are, they have been a miracle for us, and I am eternally grateful.
This is a great organization! My daughter needs to travel from the west to the east coast every 6-8 weeks for medical treatment on her hemangioma. Without the help of the flights they have given us our family would be in a lot harder financial position. I am very thankful for the help they have given us and think this organization is doing a great thing for families who need to travel great distances to get the treatment they need for their children.
Miracle Flights are angels in the sky. My daughter has spina bifida and has to go to the Childrens Hopsital of Philadelphia every 3 months to follow up with the doctors there and hope that they can prevent a very painful, high cancer and death rate surgery with their other treatments or at least prolong it as long as possible. With out Miracle Flights we wouldn't be looking at our miracle everyday. THANK YOU MIRACLE FLIGHTS!!! We are eternally grateful…. The Corozzas, Florida
We are grateful to the many wonderful people we donate their time, hard work, and support to MFFK. We have three children with a rare metobolic disorder known as CPT2. We needed to travel to Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas Texas and MFFK was there to help us every step of the way. There is an enormous amount of stress living day to day with CPT2 and MFFK stepped up to help take a little weight off our shoulders seeing to it that we
were able to fly our children from Illinois to Dallas TX. We can never thank you enough for all your help and support.
MFFK is a wonderful organization. My daughter has total colonic dysmotility and presently flushes her colon every day through a g-tube. She needed surgery in Cincinnati, Ohio which is about 874 miles away from our home. MFFK flew us there to see the best surgeon in the country for her problem. I can't thank them enough. It is very difficult when a family has 4 children and one with very special medical needs. She has spent much of this past year in and out of the hospital. This really takes an emotional as well as financial toll on the whole family. It was great that MFFK could help us. We all thank them!
Miracle Flights is great but Rebecca Boyce (director of flights) was rude, cooled and did not do her job very well. I ended up calling the airlines back and changing the flights so that my husband would be on the same flight. I had know problem doing that, Northwest Airlines is great. She is in the wrong buisness she even was rude to my 6 year old sons doctors office. Get a new career maybe for a company that has no feelings..oh yea..the oil companys.
We used Miracle Flights when my daughter needed treatments in Cincinnati and we live in Dallas.
I can not tell you how grateful we are to Miracle Flights for helping our daughter receive the treatments!
Thank you to everyone that has donated to this wonderful organization!!!
Re: sacm –
Why don't you just bite the hand that feeds you–you jerk. You got a free flight and keep in mind that they are donated flights–not always your first request–princess. We deal with MKFK monthly and I can tell you that Rebecca is an angel herself.
There is always one rotten apple in a bunch and that apple is you!!
I would like to thank Perez for bringing Miracle Flights to people's attention. I have read all the comments below and some are quite interesting. I don't think you fully understand unless you have a need to use them. I am from PA and have a serious condition which requires me to travel to my doctors in Texas every three months. The cost of flights right now is horrible. Miracle Flights has been able to get me to and from Texas several times. This has been a God send with out them we would have had to refinance our house just to pay for airline tickets. I am sure people with comment negatively to my comments. But, I truly hope that none of you are ever in a situation so serious that you would need there help. On the other side… Please share this information with other people who may need their services. And as far as the question of where all the money goes….. the employees need to be paid.
I wonder how many of these "worthwhile causes" Perez donates to? Why are we always being asked to donate through his site? I would love to see some proof that Perez donates then I would be willing to do so as well.
I do not know a whole lot about Perez Hilton (good or bad) BUT I do know that anyone who is willing to promote an organization such as Miracle Flights is FABULOUS! My son was diagnosed with a brain tumor and we could not treat him in our little town. We got second opinions, and when all was said and done we needed help (financially) flying to another state for his treatment. Miracle Flights arrange our flight for us, and paid for it. Some things about Miracle Flights- the family has to financially qualify. Meaning people who fall below a certain income "bracket"- so you know your money is going to people who could not afford to fly otherwise. Also, Miracle Flights, unlike other organizations, will fly the child and BOTH of the parents. Some oraganizations will only let one parent go on the trip. When you have an extremely sick child, so sick they must go somewhere else for treatment, the last thing you want is to be the only one there for your kid. It helps so much to have your significant other with you. I have no idea what this Perez Hilton person dontaes to Miracle Flights, but I will say that if any of you are in the market to help a sick kid, who otherwise would not get the medical treatment they need, PLEASE support this organization. And if you are not going to support it, atleast quit talking shit unless you have had first hand experience with it.
I have used Miricle Flights for kids twice now. They were wonderful. They were very helpful. And very accomidating My daughter has a very rare birth defect call AVM - Arterial Venus Malformation. We had to fly to Little Rock Arkansas to the childrens hospital. I don't know what we would have done with out them.
Thank You Mircle Flights for Kids
What a wonderful organization! My husband has brain cancer and his Dr's are at Duke university in North Carolina we live in the upper peninsula of MI and with out Miracle Flights help we would not be able to receive the care that going to Duke offers to him. Miracle Flight has helped save my husbands life. This program also helps adults in need as well as children what a blessing it is for families that are going through such a trying time.
Thank you Miracle Flight for helping us receive the best medical care and for making our flights so easy. Becky and Stacie are so wonderful they make a tough time less stressful.
Sincerely,
Dawn Kieffer
I was very satisfied with the service. Right now I would have been stuck in a hospital that could not fix my problem and could only keep me on a respirator, but with Miracle Flights help, I had the surgery needed and can breathe again! Thank you Miracle Flights!!!
Well, I can't speak for anyone who doesn't know a worthwhile cause when they see one, but for us, Miracle Flights was the first organization that has ever come through for my son. He is autistic, and services for him can be very costly. While living in St. Louis, we contracted with a certified RDI consultant and began to see excellent progress in our son. Then we moved to Las Vegas (where the headquarters of Miracle Flights is located, incidentally), and had to send video tapes and other forms of correspondence to maintain a long distance therapeutic relationship. This worked fine until it was time for his re-assessment. We were looking at over $1000 just for the assessment process, which had to be done face-to-face. It was then that I began to search for assistance from outside sources, something that I don't normally do. After we qualified, Miracle Flights paid for the round trip flight for me and my son. We have never been on the receiving end of this kind of enormous generosity and are very grateful to Miracle Flights for helping us in our time of need.
You know some people well everyone has there wn opinios, but mine is that, If it wasn't for Miracle flight for kids my daughter would not be getting better with her illness. I came across them on the computer then cotacted them the same day and within three long weeks my daughter was on her way to California from Ohio to get the treatments we had been seeking since she was born! And will in time again be helped with Miracle Flight for Kids. Money is the object in most peoples lives, But for the rest of us it's helping our CHILDREN get BETTER!! Thanks Miracle Flight!!
My experience with Miracle Flights has saved our life. My three children and I have chronic Lyme Disease. Miracle flights has provided several flights to California where we are treated by a wonderful doctor. We would not have been able to get treatment at all if it weren't for Miracle Flights. My 5 year old has Lyme induced autism, yes that exists and he has made an 80% improvement with so far 7 months of antibiotic treatment. There are vast improvements with all of us. Thank you Miracle Flights you are making a difference in peoples lives.
Kari
When my youngest child was two years old I found out that I had passed on a series of three rare degenerative genetic anomalies to all of my children. This was the equivalent of winning (or losing I guess you could say) the genetic lottery. The children and I need to travel from the west coast to NY and MD for care that includes multiple surgeries on the brain and spine. This was bad enough but upon learning of the children's illness my husband's employer fired him. If it was not for Miracle Flights for Kids I likely would have had to sell our home to get my children back and forth for their surgical care. In a time where there just aren't guardian angels out there Miracle Flights for Kids has been that for our family. I am facing yet another brain surgery this summer but do not have to worry about how I will get there and back home to my children, Miracle Flights will be there like they always are.
Re: Mafia – –and Abbie…and Lola…and Cause…and all of the rest of you people who certainly must live in their own little world…
I'm not going to tell you a sad story of my sick kid who benefits from Miracle Flights–even though I have one..because to appreciate that you have to have a heart—which you obviously don't!. And I never raised my son to believe himself to be sick. He is 6 1/2 and tells people I am not sick, I just have cancer and scoliosis!
Frankly, we don't want your sympathy. We don't need your money. We don't even really care about the CRAP you are posting. If you don't like this simple reminder that some kids get sick enough that they need help–and have (DID YOU READ) NO other options–then by all means, PLEASE JUST MOVE ON! Don't waste your time or ours with your stupid words and foul thoughts. We don't need it! "Negative people blog" is on a different website, I am sure of it!
It is VERY obvious to me that none of you have EVER dealt with what we parents and family members have had to deal with, or you would have a little more compassion…or at the very least move on and leave us to support each other! Actually, I know I speak for all of us when I say thank goodness you DON'T understand…and I hope that you never ever have to.
If you think that our posting here means we have no passion…by all means and on every front you are severely MISTAKEN…and completely INCORRECT! I DARE YOU to tell a mom or dad who is watching their kid DIE that they lack PASSION!!!! Or to tell the people at Miracle Flights who work tirelessly to assist us that they are rude–that seems very hypocritical. And no one here is looking to make a dime–they have an office with a lease, and utilities…where do you think the money for those items comes from?? Ever looked at a telephone or electric bill lately?
If by our posting, we have ruined your little escape trip into someone else's celebrity life by telling you that sometimes REAL life is tough…well…so be it–it certainly isn't costing you anything to go find another celebrity website that will tell you all about Brittany Spears latest escapades, or at least let you pretend to know all about her and could be her best friend…
In the mean time, we will keep fighting the battles, and keep our kids and family members going with the help of Miracle Flights. Perhaps some day they will grow up to be the doctor that finds the cure to the disease that you just might have died from…or the cop or firefighter who saves your life…or the teacher who puts up with your equally rude and hard hearted kids and grandkids…or maybe our loved ones will just be the memory that drives the rest of the people who knew and loved them on to greater things. No matter what…your petty comments will have been long forgotten, and the success of Miracle Flights will continue on–supported by people whose minds and hearts are bigger and better than any of yours. THIINK ABOUT IT!
My 3 year old daughter with Down’s Syndrome had to return to her doctors in San Diego from NY for a series of treatment. Someone recommended Miracle Flights and sure enough Rebecca did all the flight arrangements at an extreme effortless process. Now my daughter is back and striving in school. No matter how many children they help Miracle Flights never feels accomplished. And of course without the wonderful donors we would still be waiting for those MIRACLES.
MFFK gave assistance to my husband to fly down to Duke in North Carolina for cancer treatment. Unfortunately, my husband passed away from his cancer. But at the time we received the assistance, my husband was unable to walk due to the progression of the cancer and without MFFK's assistance with the flight, we would have been unable to fly down to Duke. When a loved one is sick, we want to do everything possible to get the help needed to get them better. When we can't get to the help because of lack of finances or physical limitations, it is the most frustrating and disempowering feeling in the world. Thanks to MFFK, my family was able to over come this obsticle. MFFK enabled my husband to fight his battle with cancer for as long as he could. Thank you for your assistance and keep up the excellent work MFFK!!!
MFFK has helped provide transportation for my mother and myself for the last five years as I live in Ohio and need to travel to Dallas for treatment. Without their help I would not get the medical treatment I need. I have had over 70 surgeries, and our medical bills are astronomical. My mom and dad want to do what's best for me, but couldn't do it alone. I thank God for people that have helped along the way…MFFK.
Miracle Flights for Kids is a fabulous organization! They were so generous and helpful to my family when we needed to travel from Calif. to NY for my 16 yr old daughter's third brain surgery. The staff was so nice and fast, even with short notice. It can be so expensive for families to travel to receive expert medical care. They are such a blessing!
We were fortunate enough to fly with Miracle Flights twice for my daughter's therapy (she had eye cancer). They are amazing and we wouldn't have been able to afford transportation without them. They are struggling right now as we all are with the insane cost of gas these days. Thanks to Miracle Flights for hanging in there. Families need you.

great cause btw
Only 78% of their money goes to the kids? That's a whopping 22%, over a fifth of all money raised, going elsewhere. That sucks.

With deep thankfulness, Marci in WA
Miracle Flights is awesome! They got flights for my son and me in a tight time frame and we are so grateful and thankful!!!
Thank You Miracle Flights!!!!!!!
If it was not for Miracle Flights my 9 years old son would not have recived the surgery that he needed, They were great! and very helpful.
Re: Cause –
Personally…I want to THANK Miracle Flights…and encourage all to do what they can…
And REMEMBER…you can donate air miles too…not just $…which is pretty cool
