Joan Rivers Kicked Off TV Show!

Joan Rivers stunned TV audiences in Britain on Tuesday when she appeared on U.K. chat show Loose Women, think The View across the pond.

Well, the plastic surgery-loving comedienne dropped a few curse words when talking about Russell Crowe and everyone got their panties in a bunch.

Joan warned the show, "get ready to bleep," but the show is broadcast live.

The co-hosts immediately apologized for Rivers' little outburst and during the commercial break she was asked to leave the set and not invited to come back for her final segment.

A spokesperson for the show says, "Guests are always briefed that it is a live daytime show and are reminded not to swear or use inappropriate language. An editorial decision was taken that Joan Rivers should not appear in the final part of the programme. We would like to apologise to Loose Women viewers for the inappropriate language used on today's show."

Rivers, for her part, finds it all quite funny.

"I said: 'I apologise.' Everyone apologised. It was hilariously funny," she says.

Joan adds that this was the first time she had been removed from a TV show in 40 years and she was "thrilled".

I thought the brits were a little more edgy than that… how disapointing is it that they actually kicked her off because of a little language. What is England turning into… AMERICA?

Ok as a Brit I should stick up for us, but I have to say that Loose Women is sooo boring. However, watershed is at 9pm and Joan Rivers is just screwed up really (what sane person would do that to their face?!) so there we go…the show had to kick her off.

Also, why are so many Brits here commenting on spelling and grammar, yet writing things such as "there wrong" e.t.c. 'They're', 'There', 'Their'. Please people, don't put our language to shame! I don't know why these posts always turn into a huge slanging match between Brits and Americans…waste of bloody time! And yes, it's 'apologise'. So many xenophobes ugh!!!

Brits aren't uptight you can swear as much as you want after 9pm.
But it's so uncalled for to be swearing on daytime tv when when kids are watching. There's enough foul mouthed kids around without without that vile bitch encouraging 4 year olds to swear.

    5. 105

Funny!!! She knew she was on live TV and cursed all the same. The woman is fearless and witty!

    7. 107

Love her! She's right it was funny! Too bad that "Loose Women" is an oxymoron in this case!

ok lets get a few facts straight:

loose woman doesn't mean they are whores, it means they are liberal woman who give there opinions no matter what

why are americans correcting british spelling and grammar? lmao! :s

this show is aimed at 50+ year old woman so its understandable they removed her for swearing!

this isnt even news, someone swore on british TV!!! omg call the fedz!!!!!

The comments are seriously the most amusing part of this post. I think all anyone has proven is that there are just as many educated people as there are dumbass people in BOTH the USA and England. Trust, me - it's true. I've lived in both. I also find it amusing that anyone reading Perez would be offended by bad language. I love Joan… and I will not apologize, nor apologise for it.

PEREZ HILTON IS HAPPY TO BE HATED. JOAN RIVERS IS THRILLED TO BE FIRED. GEORGE BUSH IS A SHAMELESS LIAR. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE. THE AMERICAN CULTURE IS TOTALLY MESSED-UP. WHERE IS YOUR PERSONAL PRIDE? WHERE IS YOUR CONSIDERATION FOR YOUR COUNTRYMEN? WHERE IS YOUR HUMANITY? WHERE IS YOUR KINDNESS? A SELFISH, GREEDY, PRETENTIOUS AND SHAMELESS CULTURE IS WHAT YOU ARE. BEING AMERICAN IS NOT FOR TO BRAG.

I suppose shouldn't be, but I am shocked. There is comedy but that is vulgarity and maybe it's because of her age but I just expect better of her.

Who really gives 2 shits about Joan's "foul mouth"? As far as I'm concerned; She is the Queen of Comedy("filth" or not) & has earned the title. Poo!Poo!Boo! Hoo! She's a no-holds-barred WOMAN (& she's def' put in her time ya' dummies) & for that I totally love & admire her.I'm surprised that you Brits, who have heaps of great & dirty Humourists yourselves are alarmed by the FUCK word! Any f'n that was expressed by Joan Collins is well EARNED! So, piss-off about her language & go eat some Wieners! You should be so lucky, priviledged & grateful to even have someone as hard-working & worldy as Joan on your fucking show. Fuck Yee' all & up your bums!

Joan was brilliant. The presenters loved her too, shes been on the show before. The program is called "loose women" as a bit of fun at lunch time. Its the producers who had to pull her, the watchdogs have the power to fine for that language before 9pm. After 9pm anything goes when the kids are in bed. Just watch Johnathon Ross or Graham Norton to see what they get away with. The fines can be large and they can be pulled off air completely for repeat offences. It made the papers and gave Joan some good publicity, she deserves it :)

I watched this episode of 'Loose Women'and i say commenting to my flat mate that Joan Rivers was probably not ideal for a live show in the afternoon. A second later 'Fucking piece of shit' popped out…..my flat mates toddler immediatly turned round "Mamma, what's a fookin piss a shit?" FUCKING HILARIOUS!

There's a first time for everything. I'm pretty sure the Brits weren't TOO 'stunned', apart from the fact that it was to go out live. If they had researched Rivers and her sometimes ripe and ribald personality, they might have had a seven second delay. That's (not quite, but) almost like putting Andrew Dice Clay out live.

Hey, tulu… yah, I know what it means for the show ;) I meant that it was kinda funny, given the name of the show and all, and the double entendre it implies.

      131

usually "Live" shows are shown with a 7 second delay, so editors can bleep out any swear words, but loose women is broadcast 'live' live - no delay. thats why she said "get ready to bleep this" - she obviously thought there was still a delay. and this is only during the day - after 9pm you can say whatever the hell you like!!!

Not particularly - they could get sued and allsorts and it is probably in their contract that they are not allowed to use profanities.

Anyway, Joan Rivers is funny (:
