Oscar winner and special effects wizard Stan Winston has passed away.
Winston died Sunday at his home in Malibu after a seven-year battle with myeloma.
He was 62.

He looks a lot older then 62! He looks like he is about 76 or 77!
The man who gave us the Predator, Terminator, Edward Scisorhands, and brought Iron Man to life. There are some great testimonials on www.aintitcool.com from the directorys and effects people he's worked with, even James Cameron wrote a great letter about his obvious great friend.
As a fellow EFX artist, this is a great loss to our community. Stan will be missed by ALL..he was a great teach and the BEST artist (next to Tom Savini and Rick Baker) Interview with the Vampire wouldn't have turned out with his work…RIP Stan

Thank you for posting this. Though it took long enough! With all the crap and nonsense that goes on in this town we have lost someone who actually HAD talent and was a genius. RIP.

RIP Stan! Your fx on Terminator 2 was WAAAY ahead of anyone else. I still remember audible gasps (from others in the theater) when the T1000 transformed. It was unbelieveable, and is still that way today.
