…i just got back from texas a couple of weeks ago (visted the sixth floor museum at dealy…cool), it was business, and i ended up hanging out with some long established good old boys (heads of one of the oldest standing manufacturing plants in the state). beyond eating like fools — one guy had just had heart surgery, and still glopped the gravy on his chicken steak like he was 20 — they seemed open to the inevitable clinton/obama talk that went around the table. and, although, noone at the table was obviously a democrat, i didn't hear one out-of-line comment about either candidate. one the younger workers at the plant, and one of the supervisors, expressed concern that the americans and canadians (guilty) alike painted the southern states with the same "backwoods" brush. while walking through the museum at dealy plaza and checking out all the clippings from the assassination i found myself thinking, "of course he'd be shot down in texas." later, another patron pointed out that if you were going to conspire to kill your own president, what better place than texas where everyone is looked at as right-wing rabid? i'll admit, a short visit doesn't make you an expert, but it's also prejudiced to label all texans as rednecks…ramble, ramble, ramble…btw, i loved texas

I am a school teacher, (African American) and female. Personally I thank God that He is raising up a new generation of those who are less fearful and less intimidated by people who do not have backgrounds similar to theirs. By this I am congratulating the dying breed of sad, pathetic, fearful, easily intimidated bigots, that can't take their last breath soon enough, so that this country can move forward in peace and honor and integrity.
