Blame Jamie Lynn! And Juno!

Filed under: Baby Blabber > Wacky, Tacky & True

jamielynnspears2.jpg

17 teen girls from Gloucester, Massachusetts' high school are pregnant, according to Time magazine.

For reals.

AND, none of the sperminted teens are older than 16!!!!!!!

That's not the kicker.

Concerned school officials trying to figure out why sooooo many girls became preggers discovered that nearly half the expecting students confessed to making a pact to get pregnant and raise their babies together.

WTF????

WHY?????????

Dumb! DUmb! Dumb!

Time goes on to say that the girls who made the pregnancy pact reacted to the news that they were expecting with high fives and plans for baby showers.

Wait.

There's more craziness.

The principal of the high school reports, "We found out one of the fathers is a 24-year-old homeless guy."

Why would the teens go out of their way to get pregnant?

The preggers 17 declined to be interviewed, but a recent graduate of Gloucester High, who gave birth to a babe her freshman year tells the mag, "They're so excited to finally have someone to love them unconditionally. I try to explain it's hard to feel loved when an infant is screaming to be fed at 3 a.m."

And, it's asserted that the high school has done perhaps too good a job of embracing young mothers.

Sex-ed classes end freshman year at Gloucester, where teen parents are encouraged to take their children to a free on-site day-care center.

The Gloucester school committee reportedly plans to vote later this summer on whether to provide contraceptives. The town is called very Catholic, so who knows how that vote will go down.

But some say that won't do much to solve the issue of teens wanting to get pregnant.

A classmate of the girls in the pregnancy pact said, "No one's offered them a better option."

So sad that the teens there feel so hopeless.

What do you think needs to be done?

Someone needs to do an anti-Juno flick…fast!

Teen pregnancy is not a good 'trend'.

It's not to be taken lightly!

P.S. Note to all the boys: She may tell you she's on the pill, but use a condom AND pull out as well!

Did you even SEE Juno? How does that movie promote teen pregnancy or make it look fun or like the movies protagonist WANTED to be pregnant? The character in the film didn't get pregnant on purpose "for unconditional love" anymore than Jamie Lynn did….not to mention she gave her baby up for adoption to a loving woman who would care for her child the way a child deserves to be raised.

These girls are obviously effed in the head and there is no way you can blame a movie or an actress for their stupidity!

    41

Only 17, you should take a trip to my old high school. I like to play a game when I go visit, "See how many pregnant girls there are in one hallway". It's really sad that parents aren't taking a more active role in educating their kids about sex, you can't depend on the school to do it.

how sad use condom girls they were problably white trash

  50. Jumbl says – reply to this

    50

Plain dumb. A baby is neither a toy nor a crutch. If they're not too far along, maybe some of these fools can be persuaded to have abortions. If not, then adoption would be the next best option.

  51. 51

Guys: DO NOT PULL OUT! IT DOES NOT WORK. Repeat, PULLING OUT DOES NOT WORK. ESPECIALLY WITHOUT A CONDOM. Sperm can be present in the precum meaning she can still get pregnant if you pull out without a condom.
Use a condom AND spermicidal lube instead. And have sex with someone you trust. If you have to wonder if she's lying about being on the pill, obviously she's not the girl for you. Though truly, the majority of girls are not lying about being on birth control.

  52. Maddi says – reply to this

    52

God Perez, how fucking original of you to blame a MOVIE for something stupid like that. Why don't you blame the girls for being dumbfucks? Juno was created to show girls that teen pregnancy is NOT fun, and is NOT something to be taken lightly. Obviously those girls never saw the movie, or otherwise they would've understood that adolescent girls are not mature physically or emotionally to have a child. And besides, even if the movie DID influence them into doing that, that just makes them even bigger morons for taking A HOLLYWOOD MOVIE so seriously. It was JUST A MOVIE, and anybody who thinks movies reflect real life or fucking idiots.

  64. Sunna says – reply to this

    64

Egh! If you don't know that pulling out does NOT work then you deserve to get pregnant!

  65. Dani says – reply to this

    65

The difference between these teen girls and "Juno" is that the girl in "Juno" wasn't trying to get pregnant. Once she found out she was the search was on to find an adoptive family… she knew she couldn't raise a baby. These girls don't seem to understand that they can't raise a baby at such a young age and give it the proper upbringing it deserves. I also don't think "Juno" was glamorizing teen pregnancy. To compare girls who are intentionally getting pregnant for the novelty of it to a movie where a girl got pregnant on accident only to give the baby up for adoption to a loving mother doesn't quite seem fair.

  66. Jaye says – reply to this

    66

Not so surprising Prezzers. When you take into consideration the education of American youth or lack thereof, the desire to live through other people ( celebrities), the lack of focus or goals, the lack of discipline, it's bound to happen. The irony is it's their PARENTS who will be raising these children, not them. The teenagers can't even raise themselves. All they are doing is making what they think of as a life that's lacking something worse. A classmate of the girls in the pregnancy pact said, "No one's offered them a better option." How dumb is that quote. NOT BEING PREGNANT IS A BETTER OPTION.

Do these girls have a brain? If they do they must take it out and play with it on a regular basis.

This is ridiculous I mean their parents should be all over this , they are making bringing a human being into the world a game. Does a very catholic town also equal a very stupdi town .. ? Cause i can not believe for a second that this went down without any of the paretns knowing.

AND OMG who would be so disgusting as to sleep with a homeless person I mean how ugly of a teenager do you have to be so no teenage boy would be willing to sleep with you? That you have to go to a guy on the street;. I think this is deplorable and I feeel bad for the school board, but at the end of the day it should be up to their parents to teach and to solve the issue not the school. I would think that if I foudn out my daughter was involved in this mess.. I would have give her a stern Talking to . OOPS I emant BEAT DOWN.. they are sick of their little town and how awful it is.. well nothing says you aren't going ot get out of that town like getting knocked up at the ripe age of 15.. absolutely stupid if you ask me

WTF perez!! don't blame actresses or movies or pop culture. BLAME THE FU*CKING PARENTS!! its so sad, sick, pathetic & ridiculous to here sh*t like this is going on. but when i graduated in '07 there were 2 pregnant girls in my graduating class & about 10 pregnant girls throughout the school & several before i graduated had gotten pregnant. the younger generation is fucked. its stupid cunts like those girls who get obama or hilary thinking they can win the presidency!

    76

Such a shame! I thought teeneage pregnancy was down. Why would any teenager want to bring a baby into this world. They will not be financial, physical or mentally prepared to handle these little bundles of joy. Where are their parents? Who is really going to be taking care of these children? We are. It's unfair to the child. Having a baby is a huge responsiblity and a baby needs love and support. These kids are just starting their lives. I just hope no abuse takes place. Augh! Boys wrap your weenies and girls go on birthcontrol. Also, imagine all the diseases these kids may have now. A homeless man fathered one of the children? DISGUSTING!!!

    79

well i'm from MA and this is a big topic this week…

i still can not believe these girls will take away from thier education just because they don't want to lose a friend or two… seriously? i'm a single mom of a two year old and i'm pulling my hair out.. and no the father is not a homeless man… it's hard to believe people didn't get air of this before it went this far.

  80. Idiot says – reply to this

    80

"Pulling out" does NOT prevent pregnancy (and especially not STDs). Maybe so many girls are pregnant because they all have this idiotic idea in their heads that pulling out is effective! I am in my late 20s and am shocked at how many people may age still don't understand this!

This can only happen in a liberal state like Massachusetts. The liberal educators put sex education before the basics of reading, writing and arithmetics. They tell the students that if they happen to get pregnant, that the school will provide daycare for them. You'll never see something like this happen in Texas where parents and educators actually use common sense.

I just dont understand why someone so young would want to throw their life away to be locked down with some drug addict homeless loser.. i tried to tell her sooo many times that she could wait till she's older, more mature and more ready to have a baby in general but she just insisted, and here we are a month away from her due date and she has alienated all of her friends and family to be with this kid who doesnt even have a job, let alone a house. right now i think she's living with her soon to be baby daddy's father but i dont know for sure because she hasnt spoken to me… you know who you are and i hope your happy about all the decisions youve made.. i guess your not the only one who thought it would be cool to have a baby as a teenager.

In response to the article, I'm 21 and can't even imagine having a child, it's hard enough to take care of myself!!
