The Sun reports that Amy Winehouse has been diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat after she collapsed at home on Monday.
Amy was hospitalized last year after overdosing on crack.
The irregular heartbeat may be to blame for her recent fainting spell. And, of course, her cracked out way are likely the reason for the irregular heartbeat.
A doctor tells the paper, "Crack narrows blood vessels and raises pressure. It is toxic to the heart muscle, causing an irregular beat. A heart attack is one of the most common ways for the drug to kill."
Crazy.
We hope Wino realizes how lucky she is to be alive, despite her abusing ways.
The report also mentions that Ames' family are thinking of getting some court order of sorts to keep the songstress in the hospital.
Doctors are supposedly trying to wean her off heroin.
We hope the family and doctors get their way!

Well we all know that crack is whack, but that's some heavy stuff to get off of once your on it, and heroin is just as bad. She would need rehab for a really long time to really beat her addiction…and she needs to get rid of all her crackhead friends but that's doubtful since her husband is one of them..very sad.
The media keeps her in the news, people buy her albums, go to her concerts, etc, so she has all the money in the world to buy crack. The minute we keep her name, music, and picture out of the media will be the only way for this poor family to help this sick person.

Drugs are horrible, and alcohol is the absolute worst. I'm an old goat and was hooked on herion and cocaine during the 70's. Overcame that and turned to alcohol, and I can honestly say alcohol is just about as bad as it gets. Alcohol is the one and only drug thats withdrawals can kill you. After drinking very heavily for a long time and suddenly stoping, I ended up in the ICU with all of my internal organs shutting down. That was ten years ago, and I am now a very strong advocate for avoiding all addictions, including nicotine. Stay away kids, it is not pretty, beleive me.
Her parents shouldve gotten that court order a looooong time ago.

Yeah….I have an irregular heartbeat, and I can tell you it isn't that serious UNLESS you are on a shit ton of drugs. It is also something that is diagnosed fairly easily. Honestly I would say that her massive drug use is weakening her heart and that is what is going on, more than an irregular heartbeat.

whoa, perez….that's enough……i have this same condition and had a mild heart attack when i was 15…..i've never been anywhere near drugs and had no previous health concerns……sometimes you get this condition because it develops naturally, sometimes you're even born with it and no one knows or notices unless you have a fainting spell, which i used to have frequently. i know you want to make the story sensational, i know that you want to squeeze the drug factor into any amy story, but please don't make up crap or make a serious medical condition seem the result of ONLY drugs.

Oh and we are watching this young woman die before our eyes, this is what hardcore drugs do to people. its crazy to see but we are watching the rapid deterioration of a talented woman. IF she gets clean before she dies an early death She has most likely done so much permenant damage to her vital organs she will never live a full or normal life agian, she WILL die early even if she gets clean because the damage to her vital organs is too great.
The doctors know well that cardiac irregularity is dangerous, and they are probably mercifully trying to detoxify her so that things can stabilize and healing can begin. If she leaves the hospital and returns to her habitual indulgences, then events will follow their inevitable course. Since she is temporarily too unwell to make her own decisions, then there must be an intervention, one that can be enforced.
Who cares….i have no sympathy! if she dies, she dies…its her own fault. Everybody knows abusing drugs to the extent she has catches up with you and kills you at some point. She has had plenty of opportunities to get help and doesn't want it.
Re: why? – The 70's was a much different time than now. The rock music was phenominal, the atmosphere was heavily charged, and it was the middle of the sexual revolution. A lot of people were using then. Most of your old drug addicts from that era are either clean now or dead.

She's not ready to quit so rehab won't do her any good. Maybe this will scare her into wanting it. Crack makes you feel wonderful - I know because I was addicted for 6 years. Several times I thought I was going to die of a heart attack when I couldn't catch my breath and my heart felt like it had stopped. I finally wanted to stop the crazyness and have been clean for 4 1/2 years.
