Irreplaceable

Tim Russert was in a league of his own.

At NBC, Russert was literally doing the job of at least 12 people and it's gonna take at least that many people to replace him.

Just after Russert's memorial service on Wednesday, NBC News president Steve Capus said, "He ran the news bureau in Washington. He hosted 'Meet the Press.' He was our liaison with political campaigns and the administration and every government office in the city, let alone the Vatican and every mayor's and governor's office in the whole country. He hosted a show on MSNBC. He was a senior vice president of NBC News. He was a senior manager within G.E. He was able to brilliantly juggle at least a dozen roles. To think any one person can just step in there is foolish. Tim was truly irreplaceable. That being said, each of those roles needs to be filled."

We'll feel his loss at every turn of the crazy presidential election ahead of us.

It is such a tragedy to lose such a brilliant man that not only stood up for Democrats but all of the US regardless of political denomination. He would be sooo proud and smiling knowing that his son (being the amazing man he is) greeted and shook the hand of every person that came to view his father's casket.

We can only hope that his son follows in his father's footsteps.

RIP Tim Russert and best wishes to your wife and son.

      Dev

Not only that, but he was the only reason I ever watched NBC. As a political junkie, I don't know of anyone on network T.V. who could replace Tim. Keith Olbermann is a complete hack, Chris Matthews is clearly in the tank for Obama, Who can even be found at NBC who could be as fair and humble as Tim Russert?
This is the final nail in the coffin for NBC at our house.

Watched a lot of the good works about Tubby Timmy to the point of boredom. Was said what a great father and husband he was. When was he ever around? Thanx God MSNBC stopped at beatification; just short of cannonization. God be good to ya, Tim.
