There might be some hope for TV hasbeens Matthew Perry and Wilmer Valderrama.
Both have landed leading roles in pilots.
Unfortunately, a pilot don't mean much sometimes cuz there's a chance it won't hit the airwaves.
Former Friend Perry is set to do a dark comedy pilot with Showtime called The End of Steve. A Showtime suit says, "This role will show fans that he can be not only funny but also reach to some dark places. It will be a departure from the way America thinks of Matthew. This is the beginning of a really exciting journey."
Sounds THRILLING.
Lohan's ex-BF, Wilmer, is going back to Fox — the former home of his only TV That 70's Show — for his pilot, The Emancipation of Ernesto. Valderrama will play a "guileless innocent embarking on an epic quest to find his father amid a Los Angeles landscape polluted with excess.' The story is said to be in the spirit of the classic Steve Martin comedy The Jerk.

If your shows do make it on air, let's hope for your careers' sake they're on for more than just a season.

Seriously…. Matthew Perry and Wilmer Valderama have ZERO in common and are in totally different leagues. Matthew Perry doesn't need to work another day in his life, while Wilmer is probably barely scraping by these days. Apples and Oranges, definitely not in the same situation here.
um, matthew perry cannot be a has been. No "Friends" can be has beens, like the M*A*S*H and Cosby Show casts: their all part of classic american television. Friends is on like 6 times a day in this country alone and Matthew's stinkin' rich so you betta recongize mista hilton!
Perry is not a has been! So he hasn't been on a hit TV show since Friends.. he made MILLIONS off that show. That's enough to retire or take a break for a while.
Valderrama does the voice for Handy Manny on Disney Channel. He's not exactly a hasbenn with kids. HAHA.

You are so FUCKING STUPID! Did it ever occur to you that these guys, or Jennifer Anniston, or so many other actors aren't working because they don't need to, NOT because they can't get a job? If I made upwards of $120M off of original salaries and residuals (like the friends cast, for instance) I'd take some time off too. And I would also have the financial freedom to take more chances the way Matthew Perry has.

Actually, valderama has done other t.v. he was host of a show called " Yo' Mama". A competition style show in which competitors tried to one up each other with the best "Yo' Mama" joke I think it was for MTV, but I could be wrong. I'm not sying it was any good, but let's be accurate.

I actually saw wilmer at the Sharkeez in Newport Beach on Saturday. He is sooo lame. No one really cared if he was there and he had this huge body guard to protect him in case we all cared if he was there. 2nd I never knew he was short.

If you could make in a lifetime what Perry made on Friends, if you had the talent to develop Chandler Bing into the character he became, perhaps you wouldn't have to write about others. Alas, Perez, you show people pics of your new haircut in the misguided belief that anyone cares.

I have to agree with some of these posters, Ill defend Perry for his talent, even though there have been quite a few post-Friends failures, Perry has still exhibited good taste and talent. Studio 60 was a great show and had an amazing cast, just becuase it couoldnt find its audicence doesnt mean its star doesnt deserve the praise.
Heres hoping Perry takes of on somthing equally well-written, equally dark, funny and satirical.

Well I was going to set Perez straight about Wilmar being Handy Manny. But I was beat too it! My two year old loves Manny. It's a cute show. So he isn't a has been. He's just found a new audience.
And Mathew Perry doesn't need this pilot to make it to TV. He has more money than you will ever make Perez.

I just want to say that Perry's latest work Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, was one of the best shows ever written.
The fact that the show was cancelled after 1 season just tells me that smart shows are not welcome anymore, which is why shows like Boston Legal are struggling.
Just an FYI- Wilmer Valderrama actually has an animated show on Disney. Those that have kids should be aware of this…. so, he's probably not as 'broke' as some seem to think.
Big difference between Perry and that nobody, don't you think? Perry was on a hit show and made $1 million an episode for years, so he never has to work again if he doesn't want to. As for the nothing, he was on a middling show and probably never made more than $25k an episode and is probably in worse financial shape than Ed McMahon at this point.
I would just like to point out that Zac Efron's movie coming out later this year is called "Seventeen Again." It's about a man who wishes to become young again… Efron's the young version and, why, Matthew Perry's the old guy…

All of these has-been's from "Friends" need to go away. I was in the grocery store the other day and as I walked past the DVD machine thingie I saw a Matthew Perry movie on the front: straight to DVD. Courtney Cox-Sucker's shitty show just got cancelled just like "Joey" and Kudrow's show years ago. Their time is over and they are all has-beens. Now I wish Jennifer Mansiton would do the same and go away like the rest of her loser "Friends".
How about Matthew Perry turns down roles left and right every week in Hollywood. Asides from making millions from his films and FRIENDS, he also was pretty much begged (in a colleague healthy way) by Aaron Sorkin (creator of West Wing, Studio 60) and Bradley Whitford (West Wing) to do Studio 60 on the sunset strip. Matthew is one talented actor and a class act amongst actors in the industry. His career is right where he wants it, on the A list. Maybe he just likes playing tennis or spending time with his family and friends–who knows? But his career is not in the toilet and he is the cream of the crop when it comes to talented entertainers.
How about I can almost guarantee Perez would be psyched to post a picture of him with Perry regardless? Also, I'd like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that Perez guaranteed to have a beach body by this summer. I'm still waiting on those pictures buddy….Doesn't feel so good to be put down in front of so many readers, is it?
Matthew Perry is likeable, I'll watch his show. Wilmer is a slimy looking sleazeball. I thought he was good in That 70's Show, but as a man he's a real douche- so much so that I wouldn't ever watch anything else he's in.
Very unfair to insinuate Matt's career has been in the toilet. He was fabulous in Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. FABU!! I think Aaron Sorkin's writing while genious, may have been a bit heavy, dark and politically charged for some folks, but it was no fault of Matt's the show was not renewed. He was amazing in the show (as was the entire ensemble cast) and one of the primary reasons I watched. The fact that he can do the comedy and heavy duty drama equally well is very impressive and something many may not have known had they only seen him in Friends and a few goofball movies that fell sort of the mark. If the right material comes his way. He will shine
Do your homework Perez. Matthew Perry recently received Emmy, Golden Globe and SAG nominations and has a new movie as well as the Showtime series coming out. Hardly a "Has Been".
