The View From the Right

Filed under: Politik > Al Gore

algore.jpg

John Coleman, the founder of the Weather Channel who now works as an on-camera weatherman in San Diego, California,
spoke out last week to say that Al Gore and the United Nations' global warming claims are a bunch of baloney.

From founder of a network to weatherman? Kinda sounds like a step down to us!

Maybe he made loads of money from the sale of the channel and just really likes weather reporting?

You can click here to read Coleman's diatribe.

However, in re. Coleman's claims — are they truly objective counter points to Gore's Inconvenient Truth.

Coleman's claims reeked 'Republican-right' arguments to 'Democrat-left' Gore's assertions (i.e. Coleman appears to support flinging the environmentalists out of the way to get at America's oil sources and build more oil refineries across the land). Plus, he gave a shout out to Fox News and Rush Limbaugh for sharing his P.O.V. with the masses.

Are his assertions that Gore and the UN manipulated their scientific data to advance the global warming theory right on?

The 9,000 scientists he says signed a petition refuting the global warming claims — are they totally free from any influence from the oil industry?

Can we really pump shit loads of CO2 in the air and it not hurt us, like Coleman argues?

Are there objective 'non-partisan' voices out there on the issue?

this remind's me of the time it was raining like the dickin's and my rain gutter's were plugged up so I went out on the roof to stick a broom handle or what not down to clear them and to my surprise i stumbled upon a squirell nest full of egg's. not wanting to harm them,I took them inside and called my neighbor so he could loan me his pet anaconda to incubate them and in about six week's we had the cutest clutch of baby squirell's runnning around the house and the snake was a great mother to those squirell's. she let them nurse all the time, she would just lay there and let them suckle and she would groom them and lick them. It was the cutest thing you would ever see. well, gotta go. I have a rally to attend at the intersection of florence and normandie in los angeles because I think rodney king is about to get into some kind of trouble and I want to be there when it start's and then we will go over to my friend's house to feed his roller pidgeon's

John Coleman can suck a dick.
Most of the rest of the world takes global warming seriously, but here in the USA it's just been politicized beyond belief. It's time to start thinking outside of the American box on this one.

As a geologist, I dont believe in global warming, if you take a look at the billions of years this planet has been around, most of the time all of the continents have been tropical, and we have been in an ice-age period for the last 20000 years, give or take… so if we are in deed coming out of this ice-age period then its only expected the earths mean temperatures would be rising as well… sure we may be causing this process to happen at an acceleratred rate but truely I believe its inevitable…

in 20 years we will look back on Al Gore and shake our heads…he duped us all and won a Nobel Peace Prize in the process. Take a look at his personal consumption of energy at his residence and decide for yourselves. In the end, what on Earth does Coleman have to gain except to give his insight. He made his millions. Now he can go back to whatever the hell he wants to do and say! Just ask yourselves - do you want to be held prisoners by the nutcases in the Middle East, Venezuela and the scary little man in Iran????? If you have kids, what does the future hold for them? Let's get the oil in the gulf, off shore and in ANWAR and while we are no longer so dependent on the foreign oil, find and develop new sources of clean energy for the future. Until then, what else is going to power the millions of vehicles on the road. Stop making this political and THINK IT THRU!!!

There are many different point of views that are on global warming that are not represented in mainstream news. It is a fact that the Earth has been in a cooling trend the last seven years. It is a fact the world goes through cyclical climate cycles and changes. I've even read an article about how the paint on the "thermometers" used to take the world's temperature can alter the accuracy by +/-1 degree. When you are arguing a 2-3 degree increase will create global havoc, that is a huge margin of error. Many believe Al Gore and etc. are pushing global warming as an agenda to a huge world climate tax. Not all scientists believe in global warming, or that it is caused by humans. Check the facts from non-partisan sources, and it is easy to discover.

I think Al Gore is crazy, and Coleman is right on (no pun intended). I consider myself pretty moderate, but this whole "green movement" is getting out of hand. There's nothing wrong with making the earth a cleaner, more healthy place to live…but not at the expense of making others change their lives. This whole environmental movement is becoming a cult, and something needs to change.

The issue is over-politicized everywhere on this planet. Not just the U.S. I feel the same about closing question: Are there objective 'non-partisan' voices out there on the issue? I don't think I've ever read anything for or against the theory by someone without clear connection to politics. Vanity Fair had that story months ago about the guy who can prove it's a lie. And yet, by the end of the article I felt like 'what a waste of time' as the guy turned out to be an extreme right-winger with many high stakes affiliations with Republican power brokers.

Fling out the environmentalists. They are the ones really at fault for this war. They won't let us dig in our back yard. So neuvo left wing of them. "Not in my back yard." We've got Anwar, The coast of Cali and florida…. We haven't built a refinery in 20 years, only remodeled. And now it's not enough. We are being sent to the poor house because of the environmentalists. Now the new hydrogen car that's going to be available in Souther Cal, well, it's 600 to lease. That makes it about a $70,000 Car. If people really cared about the environment, that car would be cheaper. Al Gore would have a smaller house, and they would allow for newer technology to be built in brand new oil refinerys…. Environmentalists suck. And I am an enviromentalist!!!!!!!!!!!!! But I believe in responsible environmentalism… Many environmentalists are just mental.

And it's about time someone said something about Al Gore. He really does make it sound like a big deal, when it isn't.
The earth obviously goes threw changes, i/e the ice age, i/e "global warming"
It was going to happen, no matter what. And I'm sure in million of years there will be another ice age, but honestly the next person that blames hair spray, cars, and gasoline on global warming, they can go fall off a bridge.
Seriously, heres an example. Palm Springs. If Global warming was SERIOUSLY in effect, I really doubt it would have snowed there last winter.
It probably wouldn't have snowed in the foothills of Irvine (Southern California) two years ago. Places where snow and rain rarely happen. I live in Southern California where the only time it rains, is the winter. And maybe, if we're lucky, we'll get a centimeter of rain a year.

Just so everyone is clear, Al Gore did not just start talking about the environment when he made his movie. He has been trying to educate and make changes on the environment since he first came to politics. People can choose to believe or not, but one thing is for certain, if we take care of the environment, it benefits human kind, what is so horrible about that? Reliance on oil is destroying our earth and people. What is so wrong with using energy that is already free to us, like the sun and wind? Sun/wind power or paying outrageous prices for oil hmmm I wonder which one makes more sense?

Stop bringing politics into this blog - this is a GOSSIP blog. You clearly are a democrat, which is fine, but then don't try to present information on politics as if you are unbiased or objective. And it's really rich of you to criticize people of being "Repbulican-" or "Democrat-" biased as if it's wrong to be on a particular side of an issue. You clearly promote a liberal agenda that is without much research and merit. If you really want to get into politics on this blog, do your readers a favor and present research in an objective manner, not just your opinion. Otherwise you'll have a lot of people starting to tune out and your traffic will drop - people come here for GOSSIP not your lame attempt to pass your opinion on politics as facts to try to influence their vote this Nov!

It's all about making more money by by the largest corporations, while edging out the smaller companies. Go to JunkScience .com for the REAL info on so-called "global-warming".

Maybe America should step up to the plate and develop more efficient and cleaner vehicles that don't require so much (or none) oil, instead of having Toyota and Honda reap the economic benefit from developing those cars. Maybe America should invest in public transportation, especially in the big east coast and west coast cities.
