Poor Paula Abdul. She can never seem to find the right man!
Paula's rep has just confirmed that the American Idol host has split from her boyfriend, 33 year old restaurateur J.T. Torregiani.
Does anyone actually care????
Paula and J.T., a restauranteur, started dating back in April 2007 when they met after a taping of Idol.
In June of that year, he even threw her a 45th birthday party at Ketchup in West Hollywood, which he co-owns.
And ,last October, Paula was quoted as saying J.T.'s "a sweetie pie. He's a positive force that has come into my life right now. Where it leads, who knows?"
We do! It leads NOWHERE!
And as for babies, Paula had said that was "the next step in my life. Definitely within the next two years. I thought by now I'd have three grown children."
Unfortunately for Paula, the pair broke up more than two months ago.
J.T. has since moved out of her Los Angeles home.
An insider says about Paula, “She’s doing fine. She has moved on with her life.”
Honey, just some advice in case you don't plan on adopting and haven't done so already, FREEZE YOUR EGGS!!!

at 46 she can do egg donor - trust me it is too late for her to have a child on her own. Most times it is too late by age 42. This is my job, unfortunately. Hollywood creates unrealistic ideas of what is possible with a woman's fertility - unless of course you have a young woman donate her eggs for you and carry the child.
She needs to hurry up and breed or just adopt. She should probably adopt. We don't need little crazies running around. She could still be fertile but she runs the risk of birth defects. Women's eggs, unlike male sperm, are developped when they are born and they don't make more. So, her 46 year old eggs may be past thier "use-by date".

She may still be fertile however the chances of the child having disabilities such as Downs Syndrome etc increases with the age of the mother. She would be a high risk case.

Women can still be fertile at 46, but she would be a first time mother which changes her risk factors. Most likely, getting pregnant would not be a good choice for her health or that of her potential baby.

P.S. Infertility is caused 40% of the time by a male factor…meaning that the men will sometimes have sperm issues….that are also affected with age…so it's not all about the woman all the time
It is different for every woman! Until you go through menopause - and there is a wide range of ages for that - you can bear a child. It might get more difficult in your forties b/c you have fewer eggs but it is not impossible. Many of the older celebs who have kids may well have had someone elses eggs implanted but it is certainly possible they didn't. Also, from what I've read the whole older women more at risk to give birth to retarded kids thing is not so true anymore. Or, maybe its that it can be detected earlier so they tend to abort. Who knows but the point is….if you are still having a period, you can still get pregnant.

At 46 years of age she is still capable of conceiving a child, but since an infant girl has all of her eggs at birth, Paula's eggs are about 47 years old. Only one (sometimes two) eggs are released every month, and as the eggs get older, they're more likely to get sluggish, wonky, have an impenetrable outer layer, etc. etc. etc. But yes, as many women can attest, pregnancies can and do happen at the age of 46, which is why so many big Catholic families have that one kid that is born like 12 years after the others, and affectionately called the 'caboose'

For all of you who have replied that it is impossible to have a child naturally at the age of 46: I'm 52 and started my family at 47. I have a 5 year old and a 3 year old. We did it the old fashioned way and I'm happy to say that both of my children are perfectly normal. Yes, I am asked if I am the grandmother sometimes, and it doesn't really bother me anymore. I have been told that I look like I'm more in my late 30's, because I run every day and always wore sunscreen, every day, religiously. I eat whole foods, etc. My father is 75 and my mother is 72. I still have two living grandparents, both in their 90's. Our family is long-lived, as is my husbands. He is 44, so a little younger than me. But he still has all four grandparents! So, yes, 46 is the new 36, I think. But by the way, Paula is 48 if she is a day, because she is the same age as my younger sister.

After 40, you have the teeniest possible chance of conceiving on your own. I thought I read somewhere like 10% chance. At 45, it's basically impossible. The celebrities you hear about having babies after 40ish (Elizabeth Edwards and Geena Davis) used donor eggs. They just won't admit it.

My granny gave birth to my aunt at 45 years old - obviously naturally as there were no fertility treatments back then.
My mom had several pregnancies in her 40s (but aborted as she didn't want more kids)
My half brother was born when his mother was 40 years old and he has 2 PhDs by the age of 33.

I laughed out loud when someone mentioned nancy grace having twins at 50! AS IF!! she used an EGG DONOR PEOPLE– just like many famous ppl such as the John and Elizabeth Edwards. Seriously, your eggs are not good after 42 and IF you have a few fertile ones the chances of having a special needs child is very, very high. Personally, i don't she is fit to parent, but lots of crazeeeees do it.

I'm an RN in the fertility field. Fertility MDs won't even attempt IVF in a woman over 45 without the use of an egg donor's eggs. Her eggs are either depleted or chromosomally damaged, not compatable with human life.
She could not produce her own genetic offspring.
Nancy Grace used IVF with donor eggs. Many celebrities use IVF treatments after about 38.
Ladies- after 35 your fertility decreases dramatically, and after 40, it's pretty rare to get pregnant on your own. Just a word to the wise!

I asked the midwives if I was the oldest woman they were caring for and they said, hardly. They had many women patients over 40 having healthy babies. Don't comment about something serious that you nothing about on this stupid website, do some research. Yes, the risks are higher, but you still have a high chance of having a healthy baby over 40.

People for some reason like to scare women into thinking that they can't get pregnant or have healthy babies after 40. And many of the people doing the scaring are women. I just don't get it.

my grandmother had my perfectly healthy dad when she was 45, so it's possible, altho' more difficult. also both my sisters had their first child, also 100% healthy, when they were each 40 yrs old. people know very little about fertility, but they sure do know how to shoot their mouths off about it.

After 35, women's fertility starts to drop. After 40 your chances of becoming pregnant drops even faster and after 45 it is virtually impossible to become pregnant with your own eggs. Only a handful women each year get pregnant after 45, less than 0.5% of all births are by women over 45. The celebs you see having kids after 45 have all undergone fertility treatments and often used donor eggs. It's sad to see how unaware people are of their own bodies. So many women think that they can wait, then they sit at the doctor's office when they are 40 and are shocked when the doctors tell them the reality of the matter. The clock starts ticking at 35 and stops ticking at around 45. Just google it if you don't belive me. Or don't, it's your life but when you're sitting at 40, shocked at the doctor's office, don't claim you didn't know.

Actually an aquaintance of mine is a nurse who is 42 and wanting to get pregnant. She tells me the medical field is notoriously cynical about women's fertility. Their cut-off age for "worrying" is 35. The reason many nurses like Jenni say what they do is because they come from an environment that is very very cynical. It's what they learn from the medical books.
You see, their "stats" are stats for EVERYONE. Yes, older women may have only a 10% chance of getting pregnant but that includes stats for older overweight women, older drug using women, older women who smoke, etc. Women who are older, who eat well and take care of themselves have a much better chance.
Another thing that few people know is that even in a woman's PRIME childbearing years, she only has a 25% chance of getting pregnant. Best case scenario. It's not that easy to get pregnant for anyone though the Spears family seems to have no problems!
