But this time round, it's as a suit!

According to Variety, Jim Carrey is the co-creator and exec. producer of an HBO comedy that pays homage to the late 70's-80's era Comedy Store in LA and its then owner Mitzi Shore (Pauly's mom).

Carey was part of the influential wave of comics in the late 1970s and early '80s who got big career boosts by performing at Shore's famed Comedy Store.

Comedienne Lisa Lampanelli - the really funny chick from all those roasts - is attached to star as the character based on Shore.

Lampanelli + Carrey X HBO = funny (we hope)!

      I remember the Comedy Store owned by Pauly Shore's mom. And I remember Jim Carey getting his start there too. What a neat thing to do now.

      Lisa Lampanelli is as funny as a cow in heat. Rather disgusting and suffers from not a lot of imagination. I wish it would not happen with her.

      I love Jim Carrey's ACTING, but where in this story does it say he is going to ACT in this "comedy?" He is going to be a "suit" only. Also, is it a series, a movie, or what? I don't know Lisa Lampanelli. imdb says she is an insult comic. I see her pic and now I recognize her; I really don't like her at all! Personally I can't stand insult comics, and that's not Carrey's background. I don't see how this can be a good project for Carrey.

      LOVE Lisa Lampanelli. If you have never seen her, go rent the Comedy Central William Shatner roast.

      Had the honor of meeting her after a show once and she was very sweet, signed copies of her CD and cracked jokes.

      Will definitely watch this HBO thing!
