Bad news for self-loving Mario Lopez!
Turns out Katie Holmes wears the pants around Broadway.
Mrs. Tom Cruise is set to make her Broadway debut this September in All My Sons.
However, in order to make that happen and offset the cost of having her star in it, they're going to need to use the same theater that currently shows A Chorus Line.
An insider reveals, “Katie wouldn’t sign a long-term agreement with her show, which is why it’s the limited run that it is. They had to figure out how to make more money with the time they had with her.”
So the solution was to move to a musical theater.
The insider adds, “Musical theaters have more seats than a traditional playhouse, so they can sell more tickets each week. That’s how the show ended up at the Schoenfeld Theater (where “Chorus Line” runs). Because of the “All My Sons” rehearsal schedule, they had to cut Mario Lopez’s run in “A Chorus Line.”
As for Lopez, the source says, “He might be People’s hottest bachelor, but he’s pissed. Let’s face it, he doesn’t have much going on right now.”

What this really means is that the entire cast and crew will be out of work so that a no-talent hack can do a vanity project! It isn't really Katie's fault, she is only looking out for herself, but it is a shame that producers would kill one good show to prop up what will most likely be a disaster.

A Chorus Line is closing because of poor ticket sales, and All My Sons is seizing the opportunity to take the space. A Chorus Line IS NOT being closed down just for All My Sons. Also, there is a fantastic cast for All My Sons and it's a great play. Whether or not Katie will be any good in her (supporting) role has yet to be seen, but this is hardly "Katie's" show to ruin. And both productions are produced by entirely different people so I doubt there was some kind of vast conspiracy to close down one musical and open a play.

All My Sons is a classic show, and the cast of this production includes theatre & movie heavyweights like John Lithgow, Dianne Wiest, and Patrick Wilson. So, just because Katie Holmes is married to a creepy scientologist, and some morons on here who know nothing about theatre or this show say it's gonna suck & bomb, doesn't actually mean it will.

Maybe the fact that she can't change her expression from robot to living human being - won't show in a theatre as it does on the big screen. But the fact that she can't act will certainly be evident.
