Perez I love you I do…but I swear if I hear one more person telling people to stop visiting my country I will SCREAM!!!!! Yes I will agree that the majority of persons in my country oppose the LGBT community but no you will not be killed on site, nobody cares whether you are gay or straight. I understand that persons want their rights in fact i would be the first to try to educate as i believe in equality for all and nothing pleased me more than hearing about the pull on the ban for gay marriage in California. What I do not apprciate about such braod genralizations is that the gay community refuses to even acknowledge the beleifs of Jamaicans. It may differ from yours but it is still that, their opinion. We want acceptance but when you are as rigid as those who oppose you nothing happens. Change is compromise. There are a lot of people who have problems with the gay thing. Many split down the middle. Young hot battyman girls are hot, men-not and a threat. Many still hold gay men responsible for the creation and spread of AIDS and other diseases even when it's not true. Many people are as smart of sub primes who purchased homes. They never listen too nor read the fine print. They don't listen to health officials and others about being gay and the problems with diseases but will listen to dancehall, rap and other music with lyrics about murking battymans. The forefathers should have thought about putting a gay clause in the Constitution. Maybe that would lead to better understanding and acceptance. But because in the 21st century, people's brains are smaller and clouded, probably not!

Some parts of Jamaica may be beautifu, but certainly NOT Kingston. I lived and worked there for a period of time and couldn't wait to get out. It's such a backwards country in all aspects…slow, slow, slow. I've lived in two other third world countries, including Tanzania…and Jamaica is the WORST.

But for the record I would like to say that Jamaica is not the only island that feels this way its just the only island that gets the most criticism for its views and actions all this stuff happens in st.kitts and nevis, trinidad and tobago, st.thomas etc.. a lot of islands havent accepted gays and lesbians because of their religious views and various other reasons…as and a gay man you shouldn't care who accepts you or not live your life for you and not other people and their opinions just be happy you cant change the world in a day change takes time

Whatever your feelings about gay relationships surely it is wrong that ANYONE should suffer at the hands of a crazed mob while the police stand by? Examples from the article: 1) Mourners at a FUNERAL were attacked by a mob and the police took the side of the mob. 2) Four men were attacked in their own home by a mob. One died: either "accidentally" while fleeing or murdered. Three were injured - one man suffered a partially severed ear, arm broken in two places and spinal injury 3) The bodies of two women were found dumped in the "septic tank" (i.e. sewer) by their home.
What the hell would you expect from an island full of Nigs who put shit in their own hair? The only thing they have going for them is an advertising campaign and lots of weed. They're pretty much animals…except animals wouldn't put shit in their own hair.
P.S. - and for those of you who travel to Jamaica, you should know that Homosexuality is illegal in Jamaica, and the so-called sodomy laws carry a penalty of 10-15 years in prison. And note that many of the people who kill gays never go to jail but are convicted of "buggery". So watch you ass, (sorry) if you must travel there. P.S., until things get a little bit better, you may want to also stay out of Cuba.
