The U.S. Attorney's office has filed a motion demanding that Wesley Snipes surrender himself to police custody.
They disagree with a Florida judge's decision to let the actor out on bail while he appeals his tax charges.
Snipes was found guilty and sentenced to three years in jail for not paying his taxes for several years.
He still owes millions of dollars!
The judge felt Wesley was not a flight risk, but that doesn't seem to be good enough for the feds.
"We want him in custody," said Steve Cole, spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's Office. "He's been convicted by a jury. He has been sentenced to three years and he should be in custody."
Now's the time to hop on a flight to somewhere tropical and far far away, Wesley!

Great Advice Perez, suggesting that he flee. He should be a man and do the time. Fleeing makes him look wimpy. Anyone I hear appealing their verdict does it from jail, not sitting by the pool. He did not even try to file. If he felt the taxes were wrong, he should have become a citizen in another country. Celebrities are better than us I guess. And please, don't bring in the race factor. Everyone that is here is required to pay taxes. I don't know if his sentence was excessive because different types of court give different sentences. (Oh, I do believe the laws need to be changed for drunk drivers who kill)

Why is Nick Hogan not even going to be in jail for that long? He basically killed his friend. That's an MC, DUI, reckless endangerment, assault and they could even try to throw manslaughter in there. Snipes should pay for what he's done, but there are so many other people out there that the justice system should be focusing on.

It isn't a surprise that he evaded taxes. It's part of the minority culture in America to take advantage of the government whenever possible. They have to fight "whitey", even though their are hundreds of programs benefiting minorities that were created by "whitey".
My 75 year old grandmother, who hasn't relied on the government for anything in her entire life, was turned down for food stamps, but the 20 year old black girl in front of her was accepted. The funny part is that my grandmother knew her, and she doesn't work. She takes the food that she buys with food stamps and resells it on the street. She also collects welfare. She also collects extra money because she tells her kid to do bad in school so that she'll collect more money for a learning disabled child. Want to know what they say when you turn in a person like that? "There's nothing we can do about it." They say that because as soon as they deny her access to the programs, Al Sharpton will be leading a protest against the "prejudiced" government.
The system is prejudiced against whites, and America is too politically correct to admit it.

There are only two sure things in life; death and taxes. You all need to quit bitching and get to earning so there's enough for you AND the IRS. Welcome to adulthood. If you want to make legislative changes in reasons for going to war or in the tax burden, get educated and get involved politically, because that's the only legal way to incur real change.

There was a recent story on NBC.Com, stating that there are millions of Americans making over 200,000 a year who don't pay income taxes. Their accountants have figured out some weird kind of loophole, but they better be careful because the IRS is cracking down on these people. Wesley had that type of accountant I read.
It's a shame his name isn't Paris Hilton or Nicole Ritchie, not only would he be let off on bail, he wouldn't have to pay back a dime! He could've used the celebrity card, but in this case a black man is a black man regardless of his status, and he is going down bitch!!

You don't play around with Uncle Sam's taxes because if their is one thing the government is good at, then it is prosecuting folks who don't pay em. I am rather affluent and I have two friends also wealthy who went to prison for trying to pull a fast one to avoid paying taxes. Unfortunately, the majority of these film stars, music people and athletes employ accountants to look after their finances and all these matters, but many of these money managers should not be trusted. Mr. Snipes had such a money manager. You really have to do your homework and know who you are dealing with before you turn your finances over to others. My friends learned the hard way. Personally, I think the Internal Revenue Service in unconstitutional and should be abolished and there are many people who agree with me, Glenn Beck and Lou Dobbs of CNN fame, comes to mind, but I won't hold my breath on that one.
