There's no whistling in the Kooks' version, but they did add a female vocalist for a little pizzaz.

'they did add a female vocalist'? did you ever listen to the original which HAS a female vocalist on it?? guess not! this version sucks and comes way too late. a million ppl have done versions of this song - diplo alone has like 3 or more, then there's kanye and these are really obvious mainstream examples! plus the original is amazing, but so over played for a good 6 months straight. finally it's not EVERYWHERE you go and NOW the kooks come out with a version that you're featuring as 'news'? lame.

The Kooks are awful. They wander around brighton trying to look indie and stroppy hoping to get recognised but the only people who shout "oiii kooookss" are the pathetic hangers on that follow EVERY rubbish indie band this town spits out, hoping to get laid, so that they can brag over facebook to their millions of friends they met in some cool club night run by their cool friend.

The singer is Simon Wilcox, which another lovely lily already pointed out, and the cover was included in an NME compilation earlier this year. Simon's own material is definitely worth the effort to check out - google "Simon Wilcox" and follow the trail… xoxo
