This is so sad to see!
From the look of things, Allegra Versace is still battling an eating disorder, a disease she's been fighting for years.
The sole heir to Giani Vesace's empire attended a party for Uomo Vogue in Milan on Sunday with mom Donatella and Janet Jackson.
At least Janet's looking mighty healthy!

i battled an eating disorder for awhile its really hard to overcome. no matter what people say to you your image of your body is completely wrong. wheres her family and friends to get her help?

I'm feeling for her! Look at the millions of teenagers who fall pray to EDs because of a wrong media image of beauty=skinny (instead of beauty=healthy). How much harder must it be for a girl practically raised in that fashion industry? And that's really no her fault! I hope she will recover and I pray that someone gets some healthy sense into that whole fashion & celebrity sector!!!

In response to help. No they do not know how bad they look, that is the battle. No matter how thin and awful they look, they still see themselves fat. They look in the mirror and have a totally distorted body image view. That is the hardest thing to overcome in this disorder.

An eating disorder knows no income, no status, as it's a mental illness. It does not get better overnight. She is healthier than last photos I saw so with the proper doctors both mental and physical, she can get better. Give her some space. She can do this if others leave her be. She has beautiful but so sad eyes. Much like her uncle did.

when you develop anorexia or other eating disorders you never get rid of them. People can seek treatment and learn to deal with them, but it never goes away. The same goes for alcoholism. A person will always be an alcoholic, they just learn to deal with the issue day by day. It is always a struggle.
I think a lot of these comments are a bit off the cuff….I think people should really read up on eating disorders before telling someone to get on with it….do you think that if it was that easy they would not do it. PEOPLE READ before posting stupid comments about how much money they have and that they have no problems…..money does not solve all the problems of the world!!!
the first comment to actually say something bothered the shit out of me - donna, seriously, stfu. i will never be harassed by allegra versace's vajayjay getting out of a car while next to the gossip rags in the grocery store, and frankly, i didn't even know allegra existed at all until a few years ago. she's obviously very reclusive and you only see photos of her out in public with donatella, and i honestly have a lot of respect for how she stays out of the public eye. honestly, if i'd grown up in the versace family i'd prolly have a wicked eating disorder too. at least she never makes a fool of herself in public like some other obscenely wealthy people.

As if it was as simple as that. Eating disorders are about so much more than just wanting to be skinny and looking to lose weight fast. They are so much more complicated than that and the poor girl is probably terrified. x

I won't sell her out, but I will say that I've been in treatment with Allegra before. She's doing better than she has been, though thats still not saying too much. What people need to understand is that Anorexia does not just go away. And the girl who mentioned that Allegra has so much money & yet she starves herself…money & EDs have NOTHING to do with one another. It's not that we are selfish or frivolous, it is that we are sick. There is a famous quote about Anorexia: "We are not bad people trying to get good, we are sick people trying to get well". For us, "eating pasta" will fix nothing. It's not about the food, & nobody seems to get that. I've been battling Anorexia for the better part of a decade now (I'm 22) & it's an everyday thing.
If you want to support Allegra & the rest of us who suffer, be supportive. Don't make callous jokes or cast judgments about a devastating disease that you don't understand.
And Mel, EDs have ALWAYS been around. There's documented instances of Bulimia dating back to 1800s. And Sigmund Freud's daughter was diagnosed with Anorexia int he early 1900s. It's always been around, it's just only recently that people are accepting it & beginning to not be ashamed anymore.

She's got a college degree, she's hardly hit's the LA party scene, her friends are mostly "common" people, she really tries to stay out of the media and it was NOT her choice to grow up in a fashion family or to inherit 50% of the company from her Uncle. Allegra is a very sick gal. One poster was right that her environment is a huge factor in her illness. I have heard Donatella exercises like a maniac as well.
I hope she gets better for herself…NO ONE can make you better if you have an eating disorder. You have to want to for yourself. Telling an anorexic to "eat a burger" or "eat a _______" doesn't solve anything, and just makes matters worse!
Eating disorders are not about trying to be skinny like a model. They are addictions like alcoholism. People starve, binge and purge because it helps them cope with some unbearable pain. Many have been severely abused. They are usually the sweetest and LEAST selfish people you will ever meet. They are usually the sort to take care of everyone else, even as they destroy themselves. And eating disorders do not just go away. Full recovery is possible, but a vast majority will deal with the addiction for the rest of their lives. The thing about alcoholism is that you CAN avoid alcohol. You can NOT avoid food, and that makes recovery so much harder. Many people swing from anorexia to bulimia to overeating. It is so frigging hard to find the middle ground. Ms. Versace is obviously a very strong woman and I hope she continues to fight against her illness.
Writing eat some pasta is a bit insensitive. She has a genuine mental health disorder. Anorexia is extremely difficult to treat. If it just had to do with locking her up with some food and she would eat then that would be great. But that isn't the case at all. Most likely, it is a reaction to the brutal murder of her beloved uncle. That whole family has been devastated by that one horrible act.

It's really sad to see woman (and yes, even men) battling with their body image. If only Hollywood and celebs and society in general promoted healthy bodies instead of these frail thin appearances. It's not attractive and it's not healthy, they all look sickly and on their death beds. I hope she gets the help she needs to deal with this disease. She can no more turn it off than Wino with her drug addiction. She needs to recognize that she has a problem before she can get help to deal with her issues. I wish her well!!
