Yes, we don't approve of homosexual behaviour…but we don't go around killing homosexuals. Most of the time, it's their lovers killing them or they are trying to force themselves on young boys who beg on the streets. Jamaica is heavily reliant on tourism and they should feel the hit to their income that comes with their persecution and lack of civil rights for gays.
There are many people out there who will choose to visit other places on their holidays rather than go to a place where certain people have no rights. I wouldn't visit a country whose government had no laws to prevent slavery or child molestation either.

I don't think Jamaica should be "attacked." I think that people who are opposed to a government that has not granted civil rights to homosexuals should not visit the country. Jamaica, both its government and its people should be aware that they do not exist in a void where they are free to deny the rights of specific groups of people. When 70% of a country cannot see this (from the poll that asked whether homosexuals should be granted civil rights), it is most certainly not a place I would care to visit. And I am not alone on that.
It is one thing to have old fashioned or religious views on homosexuality. It is quite another to have mobs of people murdering individuals while the police laugh or join in.

I don't think Jamaica should be "attacked." I think that people who are opposed to a government that has not granted civil rights to homosexuals should not visit the country. Jamaica, both its government and its people should be aware that they do not exist in a void where they are free to deny the rights of specific groups of people. When 70% of a country cannot see this (from the poll that asked whether homosexuals should be granted civil rights), it is most certainly not a place I would care to visit. And I am not alone on that.
It is one thing to have old fashioned or religious views on homosexuality. It is quite another to have mobs of people murdering individuals while the police laugh or join in.
In the US, people had many "religious" justifications for slavery. That doesn't make it any less reprehensible.

I've known about Jamaica's issues with homosexuals for a while. I have friends that are Jamaican and if they knew I was gay they would make my life hell. I've seen them do it first hand. I will say….
