George Carlin was an insititution. He made adults laugh and he touched children too when he was the conductor on Thomas The Train Engine. He is one of the people who knew that he made a difference. That is a nice way to have lived a life. He will be missed.

Re: charlRe: charl – little boy/girl - you are on the internet - you have an opportunity to research before you post something. perez gave you a chance to look up who the legend, george carlin was. for you to assume that some idiotic band came up with the seven words is disgusting.

Bummer, True Legend. He along with Lenny Bruce, & Richard Pryor made comedy & how we laugh now possible. They took on goverment, courts, & the fear of the "dirty" word. They broke down all the walls. If you need to know anything about comedy sit down and study their acts, They KILLED it everytime!! George, I hope your up there taking Tippy out for a pull.

A loving tribute, Perez…tmz censored theirs! George was a brillant comedian and now that I have a son, a brillant conductor. He will be missed. To all you morons who think we're cussing too much, google George Carlin or better yet, just don't post about someone that you have no idea about.

  69. Lucie says – reply to this

The world has lost a great comic. George's words of wisdom will be missed! If there is truly a 'God', I'm sure he/she appreciated George's humor & is laughing their ass off right now.

    RIP George!

Godspeed, George! And Tim! Miss you both already.

    George Carlin was the GREATEST!!!!

  85. meme says – reply to this

    RIP George.

  86. mel says – reply to this

truly a sad day in world history. the man was a legend. I was fortunate enough to see him once recently before he passed away. If the everyone were as insightful as George Carlin, he wouldn't have had anything to joke about! He will be missed.

    To idiot #1:
Those curse words are his "7 words you can't say on TV". It incited a freaking federal court case. Look it up.

The rest of the idiots calling out Perez for cursing in Mr. Carlin's memorial post— are you KIDDING me? If he really is watching the destruction of the human race on his Heavenly CNN, he is LOVING this!

Somewhere, George is choked up and saying "Aww, fuck you too guys. Really. *Sniffle*"

  87. krist says – reply to this

George was a good man, a very funny man at that! Rest In Peace George! We love and will miss you!

  88. Ambs says – reply to this

I am so sad. There are now words. I was at his last show and I will never forget it. I am 25 years old. We were in Vegas, had no plans to go see him, and I saw in the paper that he was playing. My bf and I got so excited… when would we ever have the chance again to see such a legend? I am so glad we did it. Great seats too.

He went on and on about how he was an "old fuck." Religion is bullshit. No one goes to heaven and "smiles down at people" and why don't people ever talk about "smiling up at people" LOL

I will wait 6 weeks to cross him out of my phone book, just like he did with his friends. RIP GC. Thanks for the memories, they will last me a lifetime.

  89. Candy says – reply to this

That sucks! He was really funny. RIP

  90. chica says – reply to this

HOTDAMMIT!!! Maaan he was one of the good ones! Almost as shocked as when I found out about Heath's death. Not fair…

A legend soars into heaven…with a bottle of JD's. Raise my coffee to ya. At least in some manner you've been immortalized in my kids' movie "Happily Never After", asides from TONS of film from the comedian's tours.

  91. 91

That's too bad! But, He lived his Life His way!

  92. swand says – reply to this

My favorite, oh, George you will be missed. Watching "Thomas", I was waiting for him to say a few of his "seven" words. It would have been hilarious.

  93. gener says – reply to this

George Carlin is the influence for so many comedians today. This man was so good that a censorship law was made because his "Seven Words" act was played on the radio (after he had already been fined for "disturbing the peace" presenting it in a show in Wisconsin).
For those who keep responding about Perez's indecent language towards Carlin: a censorship law was passed in 1978 after Carlin's act was played on radio. After that, indecendent radio shows can only be played after 8 p.m. and only before a certain time in the morning (I believe to be 10 a.m.) because the hours between 10 a.m.-8 p.m. are deemed "family hour" where children may be listening to the radio. I took my communication law class about 7 years ago, so if someone wants to correct me on the present hours go ahead.

  94. Suze says – reply to this

I'm SO laughing at the person who thought that George ripped off blink 182. How old are you??? George was one of the most innovative comedians of our time. His bits are CLASSIC.

  95. longj says – reply to this

    Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. I love this guy.

  96. Manda says – reply to this

Oh shiiit. And I was just thinking at buying his newest book yesterday. I mean, I loved that rat bastard. Le sigh, man.

  97. Kathy says – reply to this

I had the fortune to see him perform three times and I never laughed so hard in my life. I am so sad…RIP George :(

  98. holli says – reply to this

awww I'm so sad. I loved him. it was really weird though that yesterday when I was at target looking at the books that I picked up "when will jesus bring the porkchops" and laughed.

  99. 99

Rest in Peace… Another great man passed away this month.

He forever changed the world of Comedy.

  100. isabe says – reply to this

I can't take this news this morning, first Tim, now George. I just can't deal with it. It's just too soon. A great one gone, what a loss.
