This is WAY serious!
We mentioned earlier that Anne Hathaway's shady ex-boyfriend Raffaello Follieri was just arrested for fraud.
Among many crazy things, he claimed to be the CFO of the Vatican!
Well, according to a new U.S. Attorney's Office press release, Follieri could go to prison for life.
Here's a full run down of the charges against Follieri:
- Six counts of wire fraud and each count carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
- Five counts of money laundering and each count also carries a max of 20 years in jail.
- One count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, which carries a maximum penalty of 5 years behind bars.
We hope Anne won't get dragged into any of the court drama!
But, we're hearing she already HAS!
An insider tells us it's 99% likely that Hathaway's already been interviewed by the FBI.

He's turned out to be a pretty boy with lots of angles, and Anne was one of them, I guess. I dated a slick guy like this in my twenties, and I'm no one's fool. She was a brief victim of wishful thinking. Hugs to Anne, and then 'next.'
The Eastern District Federal Court in NY is no joke. This is big time shit. The whole "breakup" thing happened because she knew this was coming down. Her lawyers and p.r. people probably advised her to distance herself as much as she could from this clown. She most likely waited too long. 10 to 1 she gets pulled into this too and winds up with a fine but most likely no jail time. He on the other hand will probably do two years + in a minimum security prison.
That must be why she finally dropped him! I think Anne is a smarty and was conned by a professional con man……..hope she did not lend him a bunch of maoney or sign anything for him!

Sure, he'll serve them consecutively and do a couple years and pay some money. If he was smart, he'd offer to be the Vatican's traveling "boy" so they could move past all those molester cases. "Yes, Father Mulcahy. We understand you currently have needs. We'll schedule the "boy" to drop by while he's in the American Texas. Yes, yes. No trouble at all."

I would imagine so. She was dating this man for FOUR years. You bet your sweet ass the FBI would be grilling her. How could she not know what this guy was up to? Was he that good of a con artist?

So sad. It seems like Anne was like one of the last real, legitimate people in Hollywood who haven't been to rehab, strung out on booze or drugs, or having illicit relations with someone half their age. Damn! Damn! Damn!
I guess since this is her first major issue in Hollywood she's an official qualifier for an E! True Hollywood Story.
