New reports unveil tension between Michelle Williams and the late Heath Ledger's family.
As you might have guessed, the trouble is all about money - stemming from issues regarding the deceased actor's will.
Williams is supposedly concerned that even though her and Heath's daughter, Matilda, is the beneficiary to Ledger's estate, the little one will be screwed over by Heath's father, Kim, who was identified in the will as the executor of the estate.
We don't fault Michelle for wanting to protect Matilda's interests! That's what moms do, right?
There's 'history' to back up her 'concerns'.
Kim mishandled his own inheritance after the passing of his father, losing A LOT of money for himself and his siblings. In fact, Daddy Ledger's siblings took him to court over the matter!
There's chatter that Williams (and Matilda) will boycott the July 14th premiere of Heath's last full feature film, The Dark Knight, to drive home the point that she's not going to let her daughter's interests be eff'd with.
Reps for Wiliams and the Legers failed to issue comments about the revelations.

I’m posting this because alot of women read this site and i want to get the msg out there. One of my female friends got really really drunk and had a huge night partying and then ended up going back to a guy’s room and having sex. It was totally consensual but the next morning she regretted so she said he raped her. The police took it very seriously and questioned her about it and she said that she was fine with it at the time and consented but only because she was drunk, and the next morning she regretted it, so it was his fault for taking advantage of her while she was drunk… we were all stunned. How could she think that she had been raped? That trivializes all the horrible sex crimes that do happen! She wasn’t raped, she just had a wild night and felt crap the next morning! You can’t say someone took advantage of you, if at the time you consented but then just regretted it later. Imagine what would happen if a law was passed that made it illegal for men to have sex with a woman if she was intoxicated?? Then every woman out there would be screaming about it being unfair. YOU SIMPLY NEED TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR ACTIONS!

Although Maltilda deserves the money, I doubt she will ever want for anything. With the obcene ammount of money actors, such as her mom makes, she will be ok. But shame on Heath's family!

While I do understand Michelle wanting to protect what is lawfully her daugter's, I really don't see how not going to his last movie is a good way of boycotting for Matilda's interests. It actually sounds pretty stupid. Find another way to "boycott".
This always makes me sick…people fighting over money like vultures. I think that Michelle makes plenty of money and that kid will be taken care of just fine on her salary. Why fight and look low class?

For some reason I couldn't see her attending the premiere either way. Good for her for protecting her daughter. I never liked Heath's father. He prolonged the funeral way too long with all the memorials and press releases. He seemed to like the spotlight and obviously he is not trustworthy with money.
Well, let's see the whole problem is that Matilda's father was an immature, irresponsible drug addict and her mother didn't do anything legally to protect Matilda's interest in her father's estate. She knew he was out of control and should have made sure that legally in a will that Matilda was protected. He may have been a very good actor but he was irresponsible.
This should not even be an issue…That child should get it all and her grandfather should want it that way! I would not take her to the movie…too young!

heath was an ass for not updating his will after he had a child. A lot of this confusion would be avoided if he had acted like an adult. it doesn't matter if michelle makes a lot of money or not. the fact is, the kid deserves what was left from her father. period. michelle is just acting like a caring, protective parent.
Why in the world would she bring a two year old baby…yes she is still a baby, to the Dark Knight movie premiere in the first place! That's stupid!. It is certainly something Heath would never do if he were alive. Michelle seems like a good mother and she has no intention of putting a baby through all that nonsense. It's bad enough the paps stalk them in their own neighborhood from time to time. I don't believe that Michelle and the Ledgers are fighting. First, Michelle is well off and doesn't need Heath's estate to raise their child. Second, her grandparents will not disinherit Matilda, if they want to see her and have a relationship with her. Third, if I recall, Heath trusted his father to handle his affairs. Kim Ledger handled the sale of Heath's home in Australia just a few years ago. I think Heath's uncles, who didn't even attend his funeral, are stirring the pot of rumors and smears. If Michelle doesn't go to the premiere, it is bcz she and Heath were separated and had broken up well before he died. Her responsibility is to Matilda, not to promote Heath's movie.
Here's an idea — you're an actress who makes movies — how about you get jobs and support your child yourself instead of relying on other idiots? I am sure you can make plenty of money to take care of your kid since there are women who work at Staples and Outback Steak House who can do it. Just a thought.

IMDb says she released four films so far this year and has three in the works for next year..why is she bothering if Heath was really only worth $20mil when he died? It sounds like it isn't really about Matilda and rather that she's just pissed at Heath's father for trying to take everything.

This is why people need to get married BEFORE they start having babies all willy nilly. I feel for Michelle and her child, but marriage affords you certain rights that being a girlfriend or "baby momma" does not. True, everyone does need a good will… but folks need to get back to the old fashioned way of first comes love, then comes marriage THEN comes the baby carriage.

unfortunately many people do not choose their estate executors on the basis of competence. Especially when you have some money or assets, you should pick an executor that has some professional expertise in managing stuff.
