    Perez -

Since it seems you now care about children's literacy, may I point out that just because Dolly Parton is the poster celebrity for this cause, there are other literacy organizations that help not only children, but LOW INCOME children who would otherwise not have books. I suggest you promote Reading Is Fundamental or Reach Out and Read since they are more prominent and help at-risk youth.

Re: Monic – The Imagination Library program IS Dolly's program and it benefits all children regardless of income FREE of charge from birth to 5 years old. Maybe you could start a local affiliate in your community?

Both my children receive books from Dolly's program. They love it and I love it! This is such a wonderful cause. Thank you for mentioning it!

The Imagination Library is an excellent program and is available to ALL children up to age 5 in many states. Check out their website. My kids have benefited from this program and have developed a tremendous love for books. They especially love getting a monthly "present" (the book) from Dolly in the mail! Thanks for shedding light on this Perez!

This is a truly awesome program that Dolly has developed!!!!! Reading is very important to my family so when I discovered that my daughter was eligible for it, I was on it. They sent us a book a month. And not some crappy book either. They sent us books like "Goodnight Moon" and "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie". I'm very thankful that Ms. Parton created this. Thank you so much!!

Re: Monic – yeah this program does help low income kids and NO income kids and High income kids! it is not a respector of money or class or anything..like has been said before all kids thru age 5….all you have to do is sign up for it and your kids get a book a month. My4 yr old has been getting books since 3 months old and it is awesome…funding in TN is going out so we need some people to step up to the plate for our kids! Thanks perez for the mention…dolly loves you!

    Re: Jonat
I just think lower income children would benefit more from free books because children whose parents have means to buy them books will be bought books. And we do have a local chapter of both these organizations RIF and ROR.

What are you not reading about this? Sheesh! Those other programs are great, too, but this program benefits all kids. Low income, middle income and high income. ALL KIDS. It's a great program. Go to their website and learn more everyone. Dolly rocks.
