Soon-To-Be Prisoner Rushed To The Hospital

We love Anne Hathaway, but we can't stand her ex-boyfriend, Italian businessman liar and thief Raffaello Follieri.

Well, unfortunately for Anne's shady ex, it's just been reported that Follieri has been hospitalized in New York.

He apparently had to be taken to a hospital for "severe sinus infection" following his court appearance Tuesday on fraud and money laundering charges.

What a wussy!

His rep, Melanie Bonvicino says, "He had an episode in the courtroom which lead to him being transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation."

Maybe it was his guilt getting the best of him!

Bonvicino adds, "I do not have the specifics on what type of treatment at this time but [it's] for a severe sinus infection."

Or, he could have gone to the hospital as a result of the drugs found in his system yesterday.

Just a thought.

His rep continues to say that Follieri has apparently had a sinus infection for the past three weeks.

Could snorting too much cocaine also cause that?

His rep did try to disprove the positive drug tests, saying "He was on a prescription and cough medicine from his doctors that contained codeine before retiring to bed that night. Therefore that is what his doctors told me caused his urine test to be positive."

Follieri is said to be undergoing treatment and in stable condition.

As for his case against him, he still faces a dozen counts. His bail is set for $21 million.

Have fun in jail, you thief!

She liked the finer things in life and I think after appearing in the Devil Wears Prada, the poor guy went all out and spent as if it were going out of fashion. Money he didn't have in order to please and impress his social climber of a girlfriend. I hope she can't sleep at night. Bailing out on him when it no longer suited her. bitch.

      It's Cocaine. Sinus infections are very common with coke users. I should know. I was in rehab for it myself. I contantly had sinus infections. BTW, Betty Ford ain't cheap: $70,000 a month.

      That was so funny - i think the part that made me laugh hardest was when we were given the news we SO desperately needed: "He's in stable condition". Saints be praised!

      What a wussy indeed. I've had sinus infections (actual mucus in my sinus cavities, just in case anyone was wonderin') every week since i was 11, use a wheelchair and can only eat like 3 things, and i'm pretty sure i could still kick his ass. Or sell him some of my pain meds.

      My friend Tony had a severe sinus infection that went into his brain. He had to have brain surgery and is still recovering his ability to speak, so that's really nothing to joke about.

      Sinus infections are serious. They have been known to kill people and disable people. While it may seem a cop-out, you can't assume it is. Any infection in your head is serious and can get to your brain. I spent 2 weeks in the hospital this year with a sinus infection that quite literally popped over overnight when my face swelled with infection.
