Clay Aiken was in the African nation of Somalia on Wednesday and appealed to the world not to forget Somalia, where conflict and hunger have created one of the world's worst humanitarian crises.
Clay traveled to the struggling nation as a U.N. goodwill ambassador.
Aiken went on to say that the U.S. and international interest in Somalia had been minimal since failed military intervention in the early 1990s, "There hasn't been much discussion of Somalia since the early 1990s in the U.S. The American population kind of got a bad taste of Somalia in the early 90's and hasn't really had much interest in the country since."
We tip our hat to Clay for getting involved and using his 'fame' for a good cause.

The reason we forgot about Somalia is because when they asked us to help them they turned around and screwed us. I have no sympathy.

Re: hana – Being that my husband was there in Somalia during the whole Blackhawk Down incident, I can say IT WAS THAT BAD!! They are all a bunch of heathens. You have friggin 10 year olds shooting at you and yet our soldiers get a bunch of crap from their own country when they shoot back and defend themselves. We were trying to go in there and help them and instead tons of Americans got killed. Fuck em! Lest we forget recently the slew of pirates (yes pirates) attacking ships off the coast there. Why should Americans waste money on those ingrates??
