this is an amazing cause. another way to support this same organization is through purchasing these beautiful artisan knit sweaters from Nepal at www.hotknotsandtara.com. they've been working with aid to artisans for over a decade!
thank you very much for this post. My friend works for this organization> i just finished my peace corps service in Morocco and this organization helps those small business's in developing nations. They also have so cool products.

This is a VERY cool arganization. I bought some of their products from house beautiful. I loved it that the profits went to feeding a struggling family.

I would like to DONATE a picture of my asshole to your Guatemala. You think a 5 X 7 would be enough to motivate them to plant a fucking garden? That is if they have enough spare time apart from fucking the goats.
Hand made goods are a hot seller. I think this may be a explosive business practice and a good way to help these people better their life.
Aid to Artisans is a thoughtful, supportive, and dedicated non-profit. They offer excellent, practical and useful training in an environment that supports independent hard working and truly inspiring artisans. Definately a cause worth supporting!
There are some incredibly unenlightened comments below….this is a great org doing important work. Too often artisans have no concept of what they have and its value, this provides a great avenue for the rest of us to be introduced to new products, ideas, and concepts. GO Aidtoartisans! Commerce and Art what a concept.

Aid to Artisans is a fantastic organization! Unlike a lot of the huge for profit development organizations, ATA focuses on practical business approaches to help create employment and generate income all over the world. They are definitely a worthwhile cause- great job Perez! Everyone should donate!

I am horrified by the racist and hate emails that I see! Aid to Artisans you are doing a fab job! There are so many gaps in development and this one is so critical, being the second means of livelihood after agriculture in rural communities around the developing world. Your practical, hands on approach is bringing the financial independence needed for so many who have little means to get out of the cycle of poverty.
